This accommodation is in a stunning location with dramatic views. From the deck of your thatched cabin you look across the Nam Ou River to the jungle on the karst maintains opposite. All day long you are entranced by boats & fishermen plying the river. The cabin itself has character galore & could be a romantic environment for some couples. The bed is comfortable, with mosquito net; the bathroom is all you need. Everything listed is in the room & if you need help, you can always find staff in the central building where the characterful dining room is. We had two breakfasts and two dinners there; the breakfast has full options although the coffee was bitter. At dinner we chose delicious Laos options offered. This is not budget accommodation but neither is it super expensive. I think Nong Liaw Riverside enhanced my appreciation of Laos, in particular the dramatic karst scenery in the north of the country. Nong Kiaw is a small dusty town & being older, we did not do the hiking, fishing & adventure tourism activities on offer. We sat on the deck of our cabin & were perfectly happy to drink in the view without exerting ourselves. If you want help with boat trips, activities or transport the staff are happy to assist - and the restaurant makes an excellent gin and tonic!

Stunning views from a very large and tastefully furnished bungalow. Breakfast was substantial, with a large number of options. Very close to heaps of restaurants. Pillows and sheets were luxurious.

Suggested improvements: hammocks on the balcony, better lighting and a mirror with natural light. A fridge that stays on when you're not in the room so you can return to a cold drink after a long hot day of trekking.

Staff are very welcoming. Private bungalows overlook the river and a spectacular wall of mountains. Rooms are spacious and clean, with large comfortable beds, ceiling fans, and air conditioning. Bungalows are set in a pretty wooded property along a paved pathway leading to reception, a large restaurant, and the road. There is a cluster of good restaurants, an ATM, and a bar just outside the property's entryway, and the middle of Nong Kiaw is a five minute walk across the bridge. I would definitely stay here again should I find myself back in Nong Kiaw.

Suggestions for improvement: More than only the one teeny-tiny wastebasket in the bathroom please. Additional shelving and/or some sort of shower caddy in the bathroom would be very useful. Electric tea kettle is a nice touch but cord doesn't reach electrical outlet from the table.

Nice area and location. Beautiful view to river and mountain. Superkind caretaker every day at the entrance.

Insects can enter from various large holes in cabin - allthough there mosquito-net by the bed.
