This is an extraordinary place. You cannot get closer to the sea. On the balcony, you are above it. Probably due to the proximity to the sea,, the temperature in the room is always perfect, no air-conditioning needed. The host is very charming and helpful. The rooms are decorated tastefully with a beautiful blend of British and Caribbean style.

The bar is under renovation and was still closed.

Fantastic little waterfront property with only two rooms, the bigger one with the balcony upstairs is just simply incredible. The place is well located in Calibishie within a very short walking distance from restaurants, grocery shops, ATM and fresh fruit/vegetable market. The room is tidy and clean and super comfortable, with a well equipped kitchenette and a balcony overlooking the ocean that is just the perfect spot for having breakfast or an afternoon read. The best thing about the place, however, is the host Christine. She is a super delightful person, friendly and helpful always. We were fortunate enough to spend Christmas Day with her and her expat friends in the restaurant/bar area of the guesthouse and it was a truly memorable experience. We can only recommend the place! (FYI the restaurant/bar is temporarily closed but will likely re-open in 2023)

Food on premises

Christine was easily available and friendly getting us checked in. We had a good chat and she was very welcoming. The location is great right in the middle of Calibishie, and the balcony view over the ocean on incredible.

Excellent location right at the sea in the charming village of Calibishie. Close to the airport (20 min. drive) so convenient for arrivals late in the day. Host is very friendly and flexible. Very nicely decorated apartment. Great location for exploring the beautiful north side of the island. Nice restaurant 2 doors away from the apartment.

Nothing

It was amazing to hear the waves all night. We enjoyed being able to open the door to the balcony and watch the pelicans. The host Christine was very responsive when we needed extra towels or wanted a suggestion on things to see.

It was quite warm at night for me. The locals kept talking about how chilly it was! I think it got down to 75 at night. Because of COVID a lot of restaurants weren't open so we ended up cooking for ourselves most meals. We had a fridge and microwave but it would have been nice to have a cooktop.

Christine the hostess was very welcoming and helpful beyond the call of duty.

Condition and location

Me and my 16 yr old son just returned from a two week trip to Dominica. We stayed in several different hotels and guesthouses. Calibishie Sandbar was far out the best we had! We stayed in the Village room wich was so comfortable, nicely decorated and super clean!! The bathroom was so spacious. There was a lot of pressure on the water and the water was always warm! The room provided everything we possibly could have needed. Bottle openers, a small rack with clothes pins to hang your wet clothes to dry and the WiFi connection was great. There was a big fan that gave us a good breeze at night so we slept very well. Outside there is a balcony where you can sit and watch the Calibishi life go by. It's also great to sit at the bar, by the water to catch a good breeze and hear the waves crash. The beach is right there! Bring water shoes cos there are some small rocks on the beach. Christine is an amazing host. I loved listening to her story's and I enjoyed talking to her. She realy did everything to make our stay pleasant. She gave us directions to beautiful spots and explained us how to go where with the bus. Thank you so very much for everything Christine. You are a wonderful person.
