The place is amazingly beautiful and unique. Breakfast and dinner superb. The family running this are all so kind and helpful.

Carlos and his team were so welcoming and thought of everything. The breakfast was amazing, but the evening meal option was an unexpected bonus option. Great building design, grounds, and location, with bikes to explore - perfect for a relaxing stay.

architecture. shower and bathroom are very well thought and comfortable. soft decoration and materials.

underwhelming experience for that kind of tariff. felt unwelcome by personnel. appalling service to guests. no one at reception or anywhere which made the place cold and empty. felt apologetic to ask for anything. all amenities, facilities and garden feel run down. extremely tight bedroom. no space for luggage or any bags. breakfast and tableware extremely beautiful and tastefully presented. but the actual food was nothing but standard. left with a taste of greed. youd get charged for a nespresso capsule at the bar...at 270eur/night for a standard room? had high expectations based on reviews and friend's recommendations. but my experience ended so different from what the experience they told me about from a few years back. i'm afraid this is a great place for instagrammers but not so great if you're looking for an exclusive -and inclusive- hospitality experience. i usually dont like to write reviews when they're bad, but i am sorry: we were just shocked and disappointed. i still wish them the best understanding running a hotel is not easy. just dont fool your guests who have travelled a long way please.

Actually charming, modern, small hotel with excellent service and location. Would definitely revisit. Breakfast was excellent - much better than I expected.

It is really special

The location is amazing, very quiet and with wonderful views to the Ria Formosa. Carlos ans Nuno and the rest of the staff were very friendly and helpful and the dogs Modesto and Salvador were great hosts too! We had the most perfect days!

Staff members were incredibly kind. The property was immaculate and scenery was tranquil. Felt like we were in someone's home with access to the kitchen, drinks, fresh fruit from the trees. The rooms are well appointed, access to bikes, shower was wonderful, bed was comfortable, thick towels, black out shades & air conditioning a plus, view from room was gorgeous. Best of all - the breakfast was incredible and served by Carlos & Nonu who are so kind and bring their adorable dogs along in the morning.

Casa Modesta has all you need for a relaxing holiday. Fantastic facilities, good atmosphere, nice staff, and an incredible breakfast. The possibility to serve yourself drinks at the bar des amis at any time is fantastic, and you can enjoy your drinks in the garden and swimming pool in the hot summer day touched by the nice breeze that is almost always present. Definitively a place to come back over and over.

This hotel is a little piece of paradise. Every detail was great. It was nice talking with the other guests at the hotel as well. Anyone interested in architecture and design will definitely appreciate this place. Breakfast was lovely.

We found it very expensive for what you get. The price of our room was over EUR 250 and we found the room and the bed (140m wide) to be very small. Also, you pay EUR 1,50 for coffee which is absurd given the price of the room.

Beautifully designed and considered, in a peaceful and relaxing location surrounded by nature. Carlos and the team are so welcoming and help in any way possible. The breakfast is delightful - homemade, fresh and delicious! Our little girl loved to explore in the lovely garden.

Amazing location to discover the Algarve. quite a rustic feel to the place. if you are looking for a resort hotel with large pool this is not for you. But if you like something a bit different and with a personal touch then I recommend Modesta. We didn’t have the option of dinner but breakfast was lovely and fresh. We found the most amazing restaurants in the nearby towns.

The pool is not the most inviting. The bedroom is small but does that really matter? We didn’t think so.

The guesthouse has been designed with great taste and attention to detail and offers its guests an unforgettable experience. The breakfast is exceptionally delicious and the hosts are very charming. The only complaint is that we could not stay longer.

Beautiful casa in a stunning location. A really special place in a special corner of the world. Nice room with a comfy bed. The pool is perfect! We loved getting cuddles from the resident dog, Modesta 🐶

Beautiful architecture and nature at the location, very friendly and helpful staff, both breakfast and dinner were delicious. The atmosphere is perfect for relaxing!

Only small issue, the walls in our room were a little thin so occasionally the neighbouring room could be heard, but it didn’t disturb us too much.

I was visiting off season and it was rainy and a bit cold. That made it hard to go outside and walk or bike. This is obviously not the property’s fault, but it made it hard to enjoy the surroundings.

Delicious, fresh, home-made breakfast served every morning in the garden. The rooms are designed to perfection and no detail is forgotten. A casual, but chic and sophisticated stay. Casa Modesta's attention to detail is top notch and makes you feel right at home. It's a family owned business and you can feel the love in every element of your stay. Carlos, the owner, was a delight, so helpful and kind. He helped make our stay 5 stars. Beautiful property, people, and experience. Would absolutely go back and would highly recommend. Its an absolute must!

The host is super friendly and the rooms are, although they are really small, designed in a very beautiful and original way. I really liked the special shower and private terrace with a view.

The beds are uncomfortable (soft and unstable) and way too small/narrow. We are both 1m75 en 1m85 and couldn’t sleep in this mini bed. Luckily the hosts were really understanding and open to cancel our next booked nights for free. Even though it was a no cancellation booking. We really appreciated that!
