Lovely river stay. Our family comes out here every year, it’s so great.

This private riverfront property was absolutely perfect! It was so clean and so precious, it did not disappoint!! We had the best time ever and we will definitely be booking this property again. The owner was so friendly and helpful, we couldn't have asked for better!!

This place was so wonderful! I had all we needed and more. Beds were super comfy and the river access was fabulous! We will be back.

Everything was perfect for our stay at the ranchito! We enjoyed the views in the morning and sunset, quiet and peaceful area . House was clean and comfortable, the river was perfect for the kids. I will be booking in the future again!

We had a hard time finding this place Because the map takes you to downtown Campwood and not directly to the place. We went to the real estate office in Campwood and showed them the pictures of the place and they were able to take us there. We all love the place.very peaceful. The rooms were a lot larger than they looked in the photos and the kitchen was well stocked for everything. You might need as far as dishware, pots and pans and spices. The AC works well snd the beds and pillows were very comfortable. The view was incredible. You can walk to the river frkm there easily. The street number on the place was hard to see and would be easily missed.

This was a very nice secluded getaway. The private river access was nice!

This location is a place we will be visiting for the future. My family and I enjoyed are stay. Perfect for a family to get away from their busy life’s. We had a good walk to the river and the kids enjoyed the yard to throw ball. Our youngest loved running around and poking bugs. The river was a plus just enough to relax and get earth grounding in the soul. Thank you Dawne for the assistance and being there when we needed it.

Such an amazing place to take your family to unplug and relax! The River was the perfect depth to just sit in the water. About 30 yards down the river is deep enough to swim and jump off rocks! Little ones can play in the water while older kids can actually swim with you seeing them! BEST VALUE for Nueces River!

This property is everything you could ever ask for! It literally has everything you need! Communication with the owner was so easy and she responded quickly! The property is so peaceful and so quiet. Set back away from other people. The river was amazing. Just a short little walk from the house! I have a teenager and a pre teen and a smaller child and it was perfect for all ages! We will definitely be booking again and look forward to our next stay! The property is also just a couple minutes from Camp Wood dam, and cute little stores and restaurants!

We’ve returned to Dawne’s property several times now as it’s an ideal place to enjoy the Nueces River and Camp Wood. Everything was clean and as expected, it’s a beautiful property with good river access. The amenities make it easy to cook and enjoy time as a group.

This place has it all. We did a three night stay over Easter weekend and we are already planning the next trip. The house is on the river so we enjoyed morning coffee with the best views. During the day we mostly swam at the dam which is a quick trip ( literally less than a mile) away. We headed back after we were all water logged and the fully stocked kitchen had everything we needed and then some to make dinner for my hungry crew. The kids enjoyed movies and games each night and my husband had to take a picture of the pillow tag cause he said it was the best pillow ever! I’m sure he already ordered one just like it on Amazon. Would highly recommend!!!

The house is perfect for a family outing. The river access is a lot closer than we expected. If you go down to the river and walk or take your 4x4 about 200 yards to the right there is a perfect spot with shallow and deep water with beautiful trees. About a mile up the road is the famous Dam which is also great for swimming and relaxing in the river. The house is really comfortable and Dawne the owner makes it a very easy process. The house was stacked with many extras like charcoal and many items in the fridge. Would definitely stay again!

This was the perfect place for our annual trip. It was extremely clean, cozy, and not far from the water. It was peaceful. We all enjoyed the trip very much and will definitely be back. The host, Dawne, is so friendly and very helpful.

Great location, in the middle of nowhere but close enough to "town" to access those comforts. Super comfy beds, well stocked kitchen. The river was perfect, we fished, paddle boarded and floated till the sun went down every day then enjoyed the awesome fire pit and grill every night. Close to the River Damn for a day trip and Camp Wood for ice cream and BBQ. There were a couple of bumps with plumbing and I would recommend more outdoor seating (other than folding chairs) to better enjoy the stunning views of the river, hills and sunrise! Highly recommend and we will be back!

This is such an amazing place tucked away with private access to the river. Great place to unplug and enjoy the outdoors and family!

Very Relaxing!!!! A place to unplug. No cell phone service for us. May be a problem for others? It was a perfect setting for us :) The camping site located in close proximity to this property was full of daily/nightly entertainment. But wrapped up the "Headliners" by 10:00pm (so we weren't bothered too much) It's country living at it's finest. So doing things like waiting on toilets to fill back up or filling the tank up ourselves became a family joke:)This property offered a nice peaceful walk to the road and back with beautiful sounds of nature to keep us company. Our time in the cool clear water was "Heaven on Earth"!!! (Wish we could find our own slice of heaven :)) But until then, we will have to make plans to return to this beautiful place. This place is amazing ! The house was fully stocked, we didn’t need half the stuff we brought. Plenty of room and wide open space in and out of the home. The river access was perfect for our group . We will definitely be back !

Beautiful, quiet and relaxing. Definitely want to visit again! Perfect for families, couples friends or girl trips! The views are beautiful, water is cool and completely clear. Bring a canopy tent to put in the water for shade because you will be relaxing in athe water all day! Communication was amazing and our every need was seen to. One of the most generous and gracious hosts I have ever stayed with. As stated in previous comments, the master shower was difficult to regulate the temperature and we had some issues regulating the temperature of the electric stove. But we are used to a gas range .Also, the range hood does not ventilate. So we adapted. We just used the electric skillet and cooked outside. Not anything to detract from the amazing location! Even our lone teenager loved it here and wants to come back! Thank you for giving us the opportunity to experience the peace and beauty of nature on th Nueces!

Amazing views and good river access. We saw lots of different wildlife and birds and felt like very much at home. Already thinking about when we can go back.

Clean and amazing property. Private access to the river with a great view was a plus. Clean interior, and a lot of what we needed was provided.

We traveled during the "pandemic" so wanted a nice place to be together without a lot of crowds. This was perfect. The location was secluded but close enough to make a quick run to the store. The river was clear and cool, the scenery beautiful and the wildlife abundant. We sat under the big trees for coffee every morning watching birds, deer and even saw a turkey! Any issues we had with the house were minor: low water pressure(I'm sure due to being well water) and low lighting in the kitchen. Our kids are already begging to return. Great location for stargazing! First night we stayed on property and second ventured out to a rural county road! Both excellent views of Milky Way, constellations and the Neowise comet (last night was the best viewing of it in 6800 years so glad we got that in!). The private Nueces river access was amazing. We also tried out Quince and the hwy 55 bridge locations. Really a great combo of swimming while waiting for the stars to come out. My only complaint is we wish we could have turned off the big street light by the carport. Because of it we had to go to the other end of the property to see the stars and even then it was a bit visible. No big deal though. Plenary of other options all around the Uvalde county!

Our group really enjoyed our stay. The property was clean, peaceful and had very nice amenities including plenty of places to sit and relax. We cooked all our meals on site and had everything we needed from the grill to the stocked kitchen. Only suggestion would be a few more coffee mugs but that was a minor issue. As other comments mention the water pressure is low but it didn’t create much rumbling among our group. This place stands out for its river access, it’s an easy walk to the banks and for those willing to travel just slightly upstream, we found deep enough water for good swimming. This is a great property and I’d recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in the area.
