Everything was as we expected it to be. We had an amazing time!

We were so excited to visit torch lake! Rented a boat for the week and drove 8 hours to vacation here. Arrived on a Saturday to mouse poop all over the kitchen counter, on dish-ware, along the floor in bedroom off the kitchen. Immediately reached out to the homeowner . No response from her until 8 hours later. Had to clean all of this up before we could use anything or even put our groceries away. The owner did text us at 2 AM letting us know she would have an exterminator come out on Monday… in the meantime we bought traps placed them in the kitchen and garage where they were coming in. After catching several mice, we decided to pack up and leave. We took the financial loss on our boat rental because unfortunately there were no other properties available to rent on the entire lake. The owner was far from polite or considerate. Stating that she had no control over there being mice in the house and acted like getting an exterminator 2 days later was acceptable. She only refunded us because VRBO finally stepped in as this was a health amd safety concern.

Rustic cottage with beautiful views and quiet location. Has updated living room furniture. Bedrooms in general could use an update but overall has what you need. No AC but fans throughout, still brought our own but has nice breeze from lake. Outstanding access to Torch lake, no stairs and somewhat of a slope to small beach and dock. Beautiful clear water, shallow, and sandy bottom with few rocks. Dock, mooring buoy, and boat hoist a definite plus for lake activities. On arrival, had issues with housekeeping chores not completed and previous renters did not take care of recyclables or put out trash and left items in frig which we had to deal with but housekeeping should have caught. Owner quickly responded to issues. Got chigger bites from the well known sandbar, as son didn’t go with us there and does not have one bite. Would consider renting again.

We had a wonderful week at this property. Clean (but could use some updated linen), beds were comfortable, and plenty of fans (no AC!). The beach was great, but watch out for swimmer's itch. Do your homework before you go so you don't itch all week. The living room cabinet was stocked with puzzles and games. We rented a kayak and paddle board from Alden Marine & Sport. They were great!

Absolutely loved this property. The check in/out was easy. There were plenty of toys around for kids, easy login for the tv, and awesome patio to relax on. The sandy beach was perfect for sitting and readying withy your feet in the sand. The lake was perfect on a hot day. Beautiful

Close to stores and coffee shops. Shallow lake and Crystal clear. The kids had a great time and it was very relaxing for the adults.

We really enjoyed our time at the property. It had a rustic feel and smelled of pine trees. I was very impressed with how clean it was when we arrived (with exception of one of the bedroom fans). We enjoyed all the changing conditions of the water and watching the sunset every night. It was too cold to swim when we came but we still enjoyed hanging out by the shore looking for rocks. The house was in the perfect location to be a home base to venture out to other places we wanted to explore such as Sleeping Bear Dunes, Traverse City, Cheboygan, and Mackinac Island. We would definitely recommend this house.

We really enjoyed staying here. Alissa was great and stayed in contact with us when we had questions. I would definitely go back.

We loved our stay! House is perfectly located and had everything we could need. House was clean and well maintained. We really enjoyed having a yard big enough to play catch and volleyball. The water was perfect: sandy bottom and shallow super far out. It was like being at the sandbar but without the crowds.

Had a very relaxing and comfortable stay - we spent most of our time outside on the deck and yard enjoying the lovely water view! Rented kayaks from Alden Marine just down the road which they delivered and picked up. Easy to launch kayaks from the little beach area near the dock. Convenient location- 30 minutes to Traverse city, 1 hour to Petoskey, less than 5 minutes to quaint town of Alden and grocery, and great breakfast quiches at the muffin place in Alden. Thank you!

I couldnt have gotten a better spot on the lake. the house and rooms was very accommodating and comfortable. felt like home. Alisa was a most excellent Host. Thank you for having us and allowing us to create wonderful memories for years to come.

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at this property on Torch Lake. The location of the house was perfect. Close to a few restaurants and a local market, but within a drive to so many different areas to explore. There was a very nice patio to sit outside and enjoy meals. The lake is stunning and right there when you walk into the backyard. We also enjoyed the view from the living room and the fireplace was a great touch. Appliances and cleanliness were all superb. Very quiet location. Easy check-in and the host was easy to communicate with. We will definitely stay again!

Loved sitting by the fire and all the unique decor!

After selling the Torch Lake cottage we owned for 28 years, we decide to come back with our adult children and rent a place to relive our memories and make some new ones. This rental is In the perfect location with the length of the lake to the north allowing yo to enjoy both the sunrise and sunset. The kitchen and bathroom were well supplied reducing the number of things you needed to pack. The owner was very helpful in answering our questions before the trip. The only disappointment was the swimmer’s itch. I think this is the worst I have ever seen it in all our years on the lake.

The location was ideal, and the owner Alisa very helpful. Great getaway for family of six. No complaints, except went too fast. House great for young family. And those sunsets!

This was out first time at Torch Lake and this property was beautiful! I would definitely recommend staying here if your planning a trip! I will definitely rent again!

The property was as described except the beach was smaller than we thought and was at bottom of hill, but would definitely rent here again at the end of the summer! Perfect location

Very nice, roomy. Very well equipped. Was not a fan of fireplace(just a hot steel wood burning stove in fireplace. Nor fire pit. Pit down by water on steep slope. No place to sit by fire cause hill so steep, too steep for chairs. So our fantasy of a beautiful autumn fire was not a possibility. Lol. However, everything else was enjoyable, roomy, comfortable. Nice stove and laundry machines.

This was a great spot on Torch Lake!! The cottage was perfect for us and had everything we needed! Hope we can go back again!

Had a great stay on the lake with family. I had to admire some of the antique furnishings. The only downfall we had was we had to have the cable company come and fix a cable, appeared chewed by squirrels, so no fault of the owner. The view of the sunset across the lake was better than anything on TV anyhow. The fish could have been biting better but the cold spring did not help.

Was a short trip but amazing!! The o ly downfall was we had to wait outside with groceries in the car for 40 minutes due to the cleaning crew were still there...but other than that perfect location right on the lake! Definitely recommend!!

The property is lovely and its location could not have been more perfect! The dock is solid, the hoist worked well for our boat, & the fire ring out by the lake was a nice touch for the kids' marshmallow roasting in the evening. The view of the sunsets is stunning and the only thing else I can say is, "I wish it were mine." Thank you, Alisa!!! We will certainly be back.

We rented this property last year as well. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The swimming and water play for the children and adults was wonderful in the sandy bottom clear water of Torch Lake. Close to Elk Rapids for good eats at Pearl's. Not a far drive to get on the ferry to Mackinaw. Sleeping Bear Dunes is also close. Other good eats is Dockside, just up the road off of the Clam River. A lot of jet ski rental and pontoon boat rental. Also peaceful kayaking on the crystal clear smooth lake in the morning.

Our family enjoyed our stay at this property! The views in each room are spectacular. Beautiful sunrises & sunsets. We planned this vacation as a family get together week. Three families consisting of 6 adults and 6 children ranging in age of 13-5. Everyone had a blast.The view of Torch Lake from this property is fabulous!!! The children had so much fun playing in the clear blue, shallow water that went on forever. Lots of room to play lawn games. On rainy days there was plenty of inside space for kids and adults to play games or just hang out. Wireless internet for those that can't stay away from their i Pads and devices. Bedrooms are spacious. Lots of ventilation with plentiful windows to let air flow through. Also lots of fans available. Big front load washer and dryer. Dishwasher. Big outdoor grill. We were able to rent a pontoon boat for the day which was also a blast. We are hoping we can repeat this adventure next year!
