The staff were happy and welcoming. The hostal is located in easy access to all this fabulous town has to offer. We stayed in a private double room on the top floor. There's access to a lovely balcony. The kitchen facilities are fantastic. Hostal D'Mathias has a very friendly culture and we met some great people staying there.

I had an excellent stay here. The beds are comfortable. The dorms are always clean. The staff are super nice and helpful and give you all the info you need about tours and activities. They have 2 fully equipped kitchen areas with hot chocolate, tea, coffee and water. Gracias Diego y Mireilla!

Hot showers, free clean water, good kitchen, convenient bed, the location is great, very close to the terminal and also close to the central.

The stuff are not so flexible, couldnt showeŕ after check out, couldnt show my friend the room so he would come to the hostel too.

The staff was really helpful and relaxed. You will find nice organized tours. Also the kitchen was really clean, which I loved.

In my opinion there are to may beds in a dorms and also unfortunately the hostel is really dark. Maybe it is just me, but I appreciate airy and bright rooms. Unfortunately, I couldn't rate it that well based on the photos.

everything was amazing . the lady owner gave us all the information we needed - several times 😂. make sure you do the day trip to the waterfall, cacao farm and the miradores. there’s 2 kitchens , several bathrooms etc

great kitchen great place to meet people great staff great tours that they offer (cheap but still good) great location! really close to the center and right across the street from the bus terminal!

there was no hot water for a few days, which later turned out to be because they turned it off because the control was broken and it kept running if it’s turned on. even though it’s a short walk (3-5 minutes) away from the “busy” streets it could be a little lout at night.

I moved to this hostel after staying at a different one, the facilities were great and clean. the shared kitchen was wonderful and the tours were all priced great. The staff were super helpful the whole time.

The accommodation was convenient because it was close to the bus terminal, and the kitchen facilities for guests were impressive and well-organized for comfortable use.

The bedding was damp and had a slight smell, but overall I was satisfied.

Good hostel. Room was small-ish but comfortable, bed was very comfortable. Plenty of hooks to hang clothes. Decent WiFi. Bathroom was clean. Shower was excellent, good water pressure and temperature. Pool table was fun. Two kitchen areas meant plenty of space to cook without disturbing other guests. There was a gas hob in one, and induction hob in the other. Laundry service was reasonably priced and quick turnaround. Good location - near shops, bars and restaurants, and tourist offices.

Nothing major, we were pleased with our stay. Some nitpicky things: Oven in kitchen was broken (but all the hobs worked, and there was a microwave). There was no towels or paper to dry things in the kitchen. It was quite noisy so we needed ear plugs to sleep, but perhaps noisier than usual during our stay as it was Easter weekend. The plates and bowels in kitchens are plastic and many are stained, which gives them unappealing dirty appearance (although they are clean).

Basic but Great Hostel! They also own a travel agency, so they have all the information on activities in Baños you could need and fantastic prices for those activities! Staff was super friendly.

Maybe the cleanest hostel I've ever stayed at - I think they cleaned the bathrooms multiple times a day. Having 2 kitchens was amazing because you never had to wait which is good because a fair amount of people cook. Staff were so lovely and accommodating - I had an issue and asked to switch dorm rooms and they let me with no problem. They also line dried some of my clothes that couldn't go in the machine when I asked which was so helpful. The rates for the activities are also the best in town - I did the rafting and think I paid at least $5 less than everyone outside the hostel doing the same activity. Free bath caps for the baths so you don't have to rent/buy one! So lovely and social if you want it to be.

I feel they could spruce up the terrace so you could sit there in the sun during the day but that's literally it.

One of the best hostels I have ever stayed at. Lovely and friendly staff, the lady at the reception was so helpful and nice! Incredibly well equipped kitchen, very clean (the staff organized the kitchen a few times throughout the day and really made sure it was clean). It is also nice that there are two kitchens, so everyone has enough space to cook. Clean and comfortable rooms, the bikes we rented at the property were really good as well. We enjoyed our stay here a lot!

A light on the nightstand next to the bed would be nice. Our room had a window that faced the hallway so it was quite dark - a few more lamps would have helped.

Super nice hostel. Simple, but comfortable. Excellent value for money. Towels and soap available. I joined a tour to the jungle proposed by the hostel. Enjoyed very much, and for a very good price. I would definitely advise it. Also rented the bike to go to the waterfall. Bike was very good.

Only thing is that I could not pay by card. They had an online system for card payments, but my card was not recognised by the system.
