Friendly pub in town centre location serving good beer and pub grub and offering clean, warm and comfortable rooms with a good shower at a fair price. Ideal for my trip. If returning to Wellington I would stay here again

My room was a little small but then it was the single room and it served my purpose. Parking is away from the pub in a long stay public car park - which wasn't ideal but worked ok. Breakfast was average but acceptable - though the coffee wasn't very good.

Really great team and food excellent. Room clean, and comfortable with all necessary facilities.

Sink and shower were blocked due to lack of maintenance on drains. Lacto free milk was provided when asked, but would have been nice to have selection available on arrival.

The staff couldn't have cared less about their guests - when we arrived they ignored us and then eventually showed us our room and when we left it was difficult to find someone to check out. Room was tiny and the hospitality tray was dirty.

Was told the cooker wasn’t working so I could not have a hot breakfast. No offer of a refund for this part of my trip

Breakfast was simply cereal and toast, no cooked options and no explanation as to why. On arrival the bar was full of old dirty glasses and no one free to check me in for sometime. The window in the room does not fit properly and as it overlooks the road the room was nosiy. WiFi was useless either unable to connect or kept dropping.

Easy going and helpful staff. Just what we needed.

1- Comfortable bedroom. 2- Tea/coffee making. 3- TV a reasonable size. 4- Comfortable bed. 5- Good qualify breakfast. 6- Fan.

1- Torn net curtains is unforgiveable. 2- No en suite facilities but at least a dedicated wc/shower at end of short corridor. 3- No complimentary bottle of water. 4- I had to wedge the window open. 5- No car parking.

The staff were lovely anything you needed they done for you.

Cosy room. Lots of character and well equipped. Bathroom very clean and good shower with plenty of hot water and pressure. Staff were very friendly and helpful, if a bit busy. Good cooked breakfast.

Not brilliantly clean. A little dust and fluff along shelf corners and in bottom of wardrobe where extra pillow was lying (so - no thanks). Staff attire a bit questionable - could do with some professional company t-shirts to help identify who are staff.

I arrived at the property after a seven hour drive and was asked if I could pay upfront. Not normally a problem, but my phone died on the journey down so I asked if I could just go to the room and pop my bags away so I could get my phone charger and charge my phone up to pay. Apparently no because it’s “policy” I must pay before being given the key, so instead I have to unpack my bags in the middle of the pub to find my charger and stand at the bar charging my phone for however long. This speaks incredibly badly of what you think of your customers; you’re acting as if I’m going to sneak off without paying before I’ve even been in the door for five minutes. A little bit of customer service doesn’t hurt. Aside from that: - the base of the shower fills up so fast I needed to stop my shower more than one to let the water drain so it didn’t overflow into the room. - there’s no mattress protectors on the beds so you can see the grimy mattress straight under the sheet you’re sleeping on. - room was too hot with a fan that doesn’t work.

I didn’t like the way booking.com told me the room is en-suite only to get there and find the shower and toilet were all located outside my bedroom. I felt cheated coz if I knew that I wouldn’t have booked that room. Because of that booking lied and I felt wasn’t good value for my money. I was so upset such that I didn’t enjoy my sleep that was much needed.

Nice sized room, fan provided & made use of it as room only has small window. Bed & pillows comfy, large bathroom, great shower.

Noisy locals & a 'lady' whose choice of language was not at all ladylike!
