The location is idilic to visit Borobudur temple, the facilities are clean, the decoration is beautiful and the breakfast healthy and yummy. We had a problem with our room and the owner didn’t hesitate to upgrade us to another one superior, as it was free. The toilet is also very nice and clean, with gel and shampoo. The swimming pool is small but the ambience is so quiet and peaceful that you couldn’t avoid taking a swim upon arrival. I totally recommend.

We really enjoyed our time here. The staff an bobby are very sweet and helpful. The breakfast was sooooo good and looked beautiful, decorated with flowers. We did a village tour that we would definitely recommend to everyone! Bobbie showed us around and told us about the Indonesian culture. ❤️ recommend everyone going to Janur Bungalow!

We enjoyed our stay at Janur Bungalow. Bobbi, the manager was so friendly and helpful. We didn't have our own transport, so he arranged drivers to take us into town, to the temple or to a restaurant whenever we wanted. Nothing was too much trouble. He is very knowledgeable of the area and was able to arrange tours for us. He will even take you on a village tour or a trekking tour if this is what you want to do, The breakfast here was a real treat. The food was delicious and prepared and presented with great care. Bobbi was able to accommodate my gluten and dairy free diet, and even took the time to prepare me a pancake which he had never done before for my specific diet. It was delicious. We were happy with the location as we didn't want to stay right in town. It was about 5-minute drive from Borabadur temple. Overall, we were very happy with our stay here and would recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in a quieter area of Borabadur.

The property looks nice and you can tell that the owner tried hard to make it cosy, but to no avail...

Where to start, the rooms are built on stilt and have gaps in the floor from where insects (especially mosquitoes) come in. The toilet does not have a mosquito net, so it's a mosquito festival every time you step in, let alone how basic it is. The noise from other guests and nearby mosques in the early morning doesn't make it conducive for a good night sleep, it gets worse if the mosquito net on the bed accidentally opens, all the mosquitoes in the room would buzz around your ears and feast on you. The room was not cleaned every day, the bed was not tidied up and bottled water not replaced. Icing on the cake, our room did not have a hairdryer, even asking the owner did not help, we were not able to dry our hair. My girlfriend also complained that hot water from the shower was intermittent. We couldn't wait to leave on our last day

Magic place surrounded by nature and rice fields, the best solution for visit Borobudur temple and take a break from the caos of the city. Beautiful swimming pool and Javanese bungalows, Bobby is so funny and do his best to make you feel relaxed and at home. Breakfast super and tour organized by Bobby among rice fields with local people was the best experience we had!

The staff was very welcoming and accommodating. I liked how they provided mosquito lotion and the breakfast was exceptional. You are surrounded by nature so do expect animals around the area. The Air conditioning was fantastic and made the stay very comfortable.

The place was fantastic - beautiful views over the rice fields and volcano, lovely little oasis with the swimming pool. Very lucky as had the place to ourselves and able to eat breakfast by the pool, which was a very delicious. Bobby the host was great and helped us organise private drivers he regularly uses to take us to the temples which was really helpful. The driver spoke fantastic English and was able to help a lot!

Nothing wrong with the property. Will note remote location out of season (we came end of March), with limited dinner options, only place we went to was in a nearby hotel chain which was delicious but very expensive (two mains and non alcoholic drinks c700k). They had two others in the same complex but even more pricey (with some quoting minimum 500k per person spend)

- floating breakfast was amazing... super beautiful and lots of effort put into it. Just be prepared to wait 1hr from the time he sees you in the morning haha - there was 1 firefly in the toilet! - decor was pretty - cats were cute - rice fields were breathtaking - owner was friendly and had really personal service. Living the life - breakfast made up for the bad points, so 10 for u!

- aircon seemed to be stuck at 23deg and felt more like 28... was too hot to sleep properly. - one of the pillows had hair oil smell from.... the previous user? Gotta let you know!! Someone isnt doing their job - shower is weak - take note best if you have your own transport. Otherwise........

Everything was great

Amazing and peaceful hotel with an helpful and caring staff. You can see the mountains directly from the pool. The bungalows are clean and comfy, lost a romantic tropical garden. Breakfast was tasty and generous. The surrounding area is pleasing and you can explore the cute villages around that are selling pottery and handcraft items. Don't hesitate to book here.

There were a big hole in mosquitoes net in our bedroom and bees' nest in the bathroom.

This place deserves 1000 stars, not 10. Janur Bungalow truly is a paradise, not only because it's beautifully designed and decorated but, above all, because of its wonderful host and staff. I spent a week in Janur Bungalow and during all this time Bobby, the owner, was making sure I had everything and anything I needed, in fact, he became a friend rather than just a "host". I'm so happy I found this place and I wish I could've stayed there for a month. Another great thing about Janur Bungalow is the food - breakfasts are huge and beautifully served. There's juice, fruit, the best coffee in the world, traditional handmade (!) sweets and mie goreng or a pancake. The same goes for the dinner - it was the best Indonesian food I tasted in Java. Needless to say, everything is spotlessly clean.
