Nothing not to like

Plenty of choice for breakfast. Very friendly and welcoming. Tea making facilities really good, plenty of tea and coffee and even a fridge with real milk not uht. There was also orange in the fridge and a bag of ice cubes in the freezer. I don’t think there was anything they hadn’t thought about. Everything was very clean and well thought out.

The stairs are very steep, especially when wearing motorcycle gear. I would of like some more security or a better place to park the motorbikes, we ended up chaining them together in a car park space on the side of the property next to the main road.

Location couldn’t be better—right at the train station. Breakfast was great in a lovely dining room.

No food. Location good and easily accessible to amenities in village. Very comfortable room and a friendly, approachable hostess.

We stayed as family at Lulu's for 2 nights and had the best experience of Lake district trip this time. Our rooms are so clean and comfy. Louise has provided variety of cereals, bread, eggs, milk, juices, which is unexpected and we all enjoyed the hassle free breakfast just like home :) Additionally, she has given presents to my children. She is very friendly and amazing lady. There are children's play area as well at the front garden. It s really handy and safe to leave kids to play and you can have peaceful cuppa on your own :) The property is just next to the train station and only a few mins walking distance from the Beach-St. Bees Head. Whole view is amazing. You can then drive easily to Wasdale or other adjacent areas for extra activities.

As the property located right next to the train station, it could be a little bit noisy to some people. I woke up many times first night but then fine. We been out all the time plus weather was good so it s Ok. If you are travelling with young children, best to pack some warm closes and an extra blanket if you can. I didn't ask, but may be Louise would have given extras too. There are little electric heaters in the rooms. As it s carpeted so I didnt use it for safety concerns at night. However, nothing else to worry about staying at Lulu's. You will be treated with respect and kindness at all times.

Location, parking, comfortable bed

A little disappointed no cooked breakfast. Though the buffet was good.

The breakfast was a bonus. We were also just a ten minute walk to the beach, and right next to the station platform for a trip through to Whitehaven.

The location was perfect - arriving by train it was a very good place to be & the walk to the beach was an easy km. We like the casual arrangement for breakfast, that worked for us. Lulu was really helpful letting us drop our bags off early.

Nothing really - we liked the noise of the trains & the steepish stairs were not an issue for us but might be for othetes.

Good choices

Lulu's is the old station house, right on platform 1 of St Bees railway station. It's a lovely, quirky building, run by an equally lovely team who made us feel very welcome! Complimentary self-serve continental breakfast was a lovely surprise and much appreciated. Very homely feel, will certainly be back!
