Location was great. Large airy apartment. Perfect spot for the old town and close to lots of restaurants and spots to have an afternoon drink while watching the passing crowd and soaking up the ambiance. View from top of the apartment block was great and having our own balcony with a view worked for us.

It was hot while we were there and the aircon in the bedroom had some issues. The walk up the stairs to the 4th floor was again with bags. There was a washing machine but we were informed that it would cost extra to use.

Central location

Air conditioning wasn’t working on arrival and was leaking : a pot had been put under neath to collect water (this filled up every hour) - I had to contact for them to fix it which was done the next day therefore extremely hot the first night Kettle was filthy and filled with washing up liquid, cutlery/plates/cups not clean, bin hadn’t been emptied and then my family were accused of it being their rubbish Only one air conditioned room; the other was boiling and pictures of this room aren’t shown - images of property were misleading on this- the room is tiny and extremely basic - no proper wardrobe or drawers I booked the apartment for my family and collected the keys for my them as it was under my name and they were arriving late : however was later questioned, called and messaged numerous times by who owned it querying who was staying despite repeatedly explaining - they explained to my family later is ok they understand because they had been watching us on the cameras which was uncomfortable to hear Also a lot of stairs to climb ; more than expected and exhausting

Air condition in bedroom.

Location is everything. This property is on Merkanti (merchant) street and on the first floor. Perfect as there are no elevators and the flat stays cool. The flat is roomy (but don’t expect anything too modern or fancy) and outfitted with everything you need for a longer stay. The owner/host was super communicative and friendly.

Just note the A/C is only on the shared space and so you will need to leave the bedroom doors open during the hot days. The single machine was strong enough to cover all the rooms.

Even though the apartment is four floors up, once you’re there you have the bonus of a great view over the Valletta Grand Harbour. Sitting on your balcony or on the upper terrace at night gives you the chance to unwind after a day of sightseeing. It’s your choice of a wine or spritz or water but delightful anyway. The apartment is “old style” which means it’s very spacious and has not been “tricked up” with new cupboards etc, though the shower room has been newly renovated. However, everything is there if you wish to prepare meals. One thing to note is that there is an extra charge for using the clothes washing machine. There are plenty of sights to experience close by. We were particularly interested in the art museum and the archaeological museum, both only metres away. Merkanti Street is full of restaurants and bars. There’s a great supermarket and various food stalls in a new development about 400 metres away. Malta itself is a surprising island and we were amazed by its antiquity. We’d like to spend a few months there getting to know the place better (if only…) Our host, Leonard, was helpful and informative.

Most reviews mention the four floors climb but the benefits outweigh the negativity. It’s good exercise anyway…

Everything was amazing: location, host (thank you Leonard), city, view from the roof, weather. I really recommend that apartment and would consider booking again if visiting Valletta next time.

If you expect comfort and equipment like in 5* hotel, you might be dissapointed a bit - this is an old building with all of its pros and cons. Also cathedral bells might be irritating, but only for a while (hearing gets used to them).

It was really easy. The location was unbelievable. The stores were really close as was the restaurants. The bells were in sight. The rooftop was gorgeous

The washer being broken. The front doors and bedroom doors were had to open. Didn’t want to break anything.

The host, Leonard, welcomed me in front of the property and showed me everything on site. When I had questions the next day, he came back within a very short time to help me find the solution. Storing my luggage on the check-out day was also exceedingly easy.

Breakfast was not included. Location was exceptional.

Needed a good clean and modernised a bit. 4 floors (82 steps), very hard if you were elderly.

Good situation, easy to reach, not far from the bus terminal. Appartment was clean. Towels were provided, as well as several power adaptors. Nice view on the harbour from the rooftop !

A bit noisy due to the fact that the apartment is in the beginning of one of the most crowded street of the city with a lot of restaurants, and because windows have single glazing. There are also church bells that ring very regularly even during the night.

Leonard was very helpful and allowed us to arrive early, drop off our luggage and also go into the flat early

We were a little cold at times - couldn't workout if the heater was meant to work. Couldn't really get TV to work, but didn't really need it.

The location is splendid! A ton of restaurants and pretty streets and squares close by. The host of the apartment was extremely helpful and friendly! Advised on where to go and what to see. He put effort into making it really convenient for us to check in and enjoy our vacation. Thank you and good luck!

It can be quite loud outside early in the morning because of what seemed to be a trash truck or maybe some construction vehicles passing by. Heard it both mornings at about 6 a.m. Also could hear the neighbours, but that is not critical. Ear plugs can easily do the job.

a bit update with bedding and deeper clean will help.

Excellent location in the centre of Valletta in easy reach of ferries, bus station, bars, restaurants and places of interest. Roof terrace with fantastic view over the Grand Harbour. Two bedrooms, living area and kitchen. Perfect for a budget stay.

Be aware the apartment is on the fourth floor so quite a few steps but the owners did make this very clear upon booking. One very small issue with the plumbing but not a problem for us and owner would have fixed immediately if it had been an issue to us. Being in the town centre there is some noise from revellers and the church bells but not the problem of the owner comes with the territory if you want a centrally located place to stay.

It was a bit shabby

Location couldn't be any better. All the Valetta sites are within hand's reach. Bus station is near, Castille square if you use taxi.

Our only problem was that we came in January and it wasn't easy to keep the appartment warm, even though the outside temperature was around 15 degrees. I suppose that is the problem with the appartments in older buildings, high ceilings, single pane windows etc.
