Generally was clean beds comfortable. Something had spoiled prior to our checkin in downstairs fridge and someone sprayed air freshener inside both refrigerators and did not do the job. Bought a box of baking soda and after 2 days was better. But that was a bad idea and made you not want to use fridge for 2 days. Also please do not advertise amenities such as beach cart if in poor condition. Had a flat tire and generally poor function. With kids and chairs would be looking for one that was functional esp with some walking to beach.

The game room was also dirty it smells really bad, when we lift up the dog cage it was really dirty, washing machine and dryer need to be updated, all the appliances are older and too small for the size of the house. My whole family visit OBX every year, we only had few places that we haven't been satisfied with, I would have to say this is one of them.

Every kid had a bed and there was plenty of room to spread out! The house was clean. We loved the hardwood floors. We did not bring our dog, but would consider it on our next visit. We did not love Corolla due to the amount of traffic, and the distance we had to drive to get anywhere. The days we chose to just stay at the house, it was fine. That being said, the beach was very busy during our stay. I would either not visit in August again, or choose to stay closer to Duck.

The house had everything we needed from 2 coffee makers and a Keurig to a griddle and plenty of plates, bowls and silverware. The layout of the house was nice and the pool area was great. It was nice to step outside in the back of the house and have some privacy from the neighbors. My family and I will definitely be back.. well at least I can hope.

Reviewer Comments: House was very accommodating only thing I would suggest is allowing the top floor bedroom to have a closet to use instead of it being a locked owners closet . The room is very cramped as it is with a large bed and one side is crammed against a wall. Luckily we are thin. I think it has one too many dressers in there and the room could be more spacious with one less. Frying pans need replacing we ended up buying one to use, But the pool and home were perfect otherwise !

The house itself is great. Love the three master bedrooms, two dishwashers, the pool table, private pool, and location. It fit our group of 10 perfectly. The only complaints I have about the home relate to the housekeeping. I stayed in this same home last summer and it was perfectly clean and everything was great. This year, not so much. When we arrived there was a large amount of sand in the pool and tons of leaves on the pool deck. Chairs were in disarray and the area looked sloppy. Not very inviting or relaxing when arriving to your vacation home. When the pool cleaners arrived on Wednesday they didn’t clean the pool. Only put chemicals in and left, didn’t even empty the filter. We ended up spending one of our mornings cleaning the leaves and sand so we could enjoy a clean pool. On the second balcony overlooking the pool deck, there was a hornets nest. We bought spray from the grocery store to take care of it ourselves. In the grill area, there was unused charcoal in the grills and all over the ground. In our king bedroom, the bed had queen sheets on it so one corner of the fitted sheet was always hanging off. The top sheet had holes in it and there were stains on the pillow cases. Thank goodness we brought an extra blanket because the ones provided didn’t fit. The tub in our master bathroom also would not drain from the first time we used it, so we couldn’t use that shower for the rest of the week since it took hours to drain. The housekeepers had to have noticed the tub not draining if they had cleaned the tub properly. There was also mold on the handle in the shower. The other master bedroom tub also started to drain slowly during the trip. In the kitchen, the ice maker on the counter did not work and was moldy inside. Lots of small spiders in the house and saw the occasional ant in the kitchen. Overall, the home could’ve been cleaned a lot better and more attention needs to be paid to the outside of the home.

Only issue we had was a stopped up drain in the master bath, that we discovered upon arriving and showering.. Did not notify the rental company until Monday morning (not a life or death emergency). They never returned my call so I sent an email asking if they are going to fix or should we move to another bedroom? The plumber showed up the following day (Tuesday) and cleared the drain of about 3 years worth of hair. Wondering how come the cleaning crew hadn't noticed this before? The weather was perfect for late May, so we didn't get a chance to experience the vast number of games or all the available TV channels, but they were there for us if we got rained in. Who ever is doing the pool maintenance deserves a mention. Showed up 3 times during our stay, drained and refilled the hot tub (foaming) and kept the pool clean and filled. Even though it said not to rearrange the furniture, we felt it was necessary in the pool table room. The rack has no place to hang, so is kept on an end table on the window side of the room. Not wanting a miscue to interrupt our week, we moved the table to the north side of the house, so when you are racking the balls, you will not be able to break any windows with a miscue. Everyone had a great time, pool still a little chilly in the beginning of the week, but we were all in on Th, Fr. I hope the owners get to see this message, great property and well maintained.

Wrinkles big enough to trip over pool steps that were barely held together with caulk and a actual tear in the seam near the top of the pool. Some of the vegetation was overgrown as well however you cannot deny the nice interior of the house and the beautiful kitchen that was extremely well stocked. We said at this house 11 years ago when I knew my now wife for less than a month. I rented this house after years of searching for our 5-year wedding anniversary and I would have to say it was a great stay but the pool was extremely disappointing.

The pool and hot tub were a big hit along with the top floor open concept which made everyone feel as if they could spread out. My only issue was no grill. The charcoal grills reminded me to much of a parks grill and not very desirable. This caused me to bring my portable grill which took up much needed space. I would suggest investing in a decent propane grill.
