The location of this Auberge was astonishing, with a direct view of the beautiful Atlas Mountains of Morocco... it truly seemed to be in a movie seen. The hotel is basically an old castle, with a beautiful garden and a big refreshing pool! The rooms are clean and the place is an oasis of tranquility. Highly reccomended!

There was nothing to dislike, the location, the staff, the structure, were all 10/10!

The auberge was very picturesque with rooms surrounding a lovely pool with great views of the mountains. Our room was very comfortable, we appreciated having a couch to sit on. The meals were very good and the staff were attentive and very friendly.

Location near the Ameln Valley for walking View of the mountains Pool and Berber tent by the pool. Rooms are comfortable and nicely decorated Second time staying at this hotel because we liked it so much the first time .

This was a wonderful place to stay for a week's walking in the anti-atlas. A real oasis to return to after a hot day and swim in the pool. Lisbeth who runs the place is lovely, and happy to help with useful information about the area. The staff were friendly and kind. I really can't recommend this place highly enough.

Beautiful pool, location was right off the main road (but not noisy!), incredibley peaceful and a short drive into the main nearby town. The host and employees were all very helpful, let me leave me lactose free milk and food in their fridge - as well as gave us good suggestions for hikes, etc. We also ate there for dinner, and would highly recommend their food!

The location is spectacular. There are hiking routes all around. The village of Tafraoute is lovely - authentic Anti Atlas Moroccan! The hotel is tastefully decorated, comfortable and with an amazing backdrop of mountains, against a beautiful pool and sun terrace.

It would have been nice to have more fruits and nuts with breakfast eg dates, almonds

I liked the fact, that even though we arrived late at night (unexpectedly), there was a person waiting for us outside and showing us to the parking lot. The hotel was nice, I enjoyed the view and the breakfast.

Unfortunately it happened to be a very cold day and raining, so we couldn't enjoy the swimming pool or breakfast outside. In one of the rooms the aircon helped to warm up a bit, but in another room it wasn't working properly, so it was quite cold to sleep.

Wonderful staff ,beautiful location. I recommend the local walks with a guide which can easily be arranged by the hotel. Liesbeth the owner made us feel very welcome. Highly recommended

Nice kasbah 4 kilometers fro Tafraoute. Friendly welcome from Maroccan manager. Nice pool with views to mountains.

Room was rather small. Breakfast and dinner ok, but not more.

A gorgeous guest house with breath taking mountain views. Very peaceful. The rooms are set around the pool, so very easy access to nip and get things from the room. There are comfy loungers and umbrellas and a fun berber tent, so lots of places to chill. The outside views are incredible with ever changing light on the mountains . The breakfast was plentiful, with fresh orange juice and amazing fluffy pancakes. We had a very delicious dinner .. I would recommend the Chicken pastille.. a type of Chicken pie made of filo type pastry, chicken and local almonds...my husband said it was one of best things he had ever tasted ! The staff were delightful and helpful. The Dutch owner was also delightful, informative and helpful. We did a great walk around the Lion's head Mountain .. you drive to a little village behind the hotel and walk under the mountain first through Olive groves, then up , up up on the right of the face , stunning views from the top , then down into a gorge behind . The town of Tafroute is a great place to wander .

Lovely place in a beautiful area. Staff was super polite and helpful, breakfast good and the surroundings stunning. We did some amazing hikes in the area. Would absolutely recommend staying here.

The heater was a bit tricky to set properly.

After a day of travelling through the mountains from Foum Zquid, arriving at Auberge Kasbah Chez Amaliya was a very pleasant surprise. It is very nicely located outside Tafraout. We had a wonderful view from our window on the mountains and a few nearby villages. We enjoyed good meals, chosen from a diverse menu, in the dining room. Our laundry was done within a day. The hotel is well run by a Dutch Moroccan couple with grace and warmth and a very helpful staff. It is very tastefully decorated, the rooms being arranged around a spacious inner courtyard with deck chairs and terrace tables and with a sizeable swimming pool, bougainvillea on the surrounding walls and mountains as a back drop. The rooms had comfortable beds. We only spent 2 nights but understood that there were longer term guests who used the place for hiking and walking in the surroundings. We felt a bit jealous of them when we left and hope to be back.

Transport is needed to get into Tafraout, the local market town, but one can easily get a car from the road.
