Not only was the lady who gave us the keys unfriendly, we were treated as if we were bothering her and she was doing us a favor. It would have also been nice if we were told ahead of time, or at least notified, that landscapers were going to be there TWO full days! The drive way (both ends) was blocked and we couldn't get our vehicle out! Again, the house was great! The location was perfect! The management was not. If this house were with a different agency, I'd recommend it...

It is a bit of a walk to the beach (5-10 minutes depending on your pace) but there is a wagon to carry your beach gear and a parking lot close to the beach if you prefer to drive. My one and only complaint about this rental is there were very few hangers, so take your own if you have a lot of clothes to hang. This is a wonderful beach house and we would definitely recommend it.

The house was spacious and accommodated our multiple families perfectly. The pool was such a bonus and was even better than described and seen in the pictures. The location was fabulous and we never moved our car all week. Having the luxury of going to the beach and a pool at the beach as well as a pool at the house - who could ask for more. The house also was well equipped with beach chairs, bikes, toys, etc. Overall, we had a wonderful time and glad we choose Just for Fun. We had a slight problem with towels and the property management company handled it professionally and checked in to make sure everything was okay. Great all around.

The temperature of the heated pool was perfect and the dollars for it very well spend! The room were nice, functional and overall in good condition. The house was clean - no complaints. Overall our week was fantastic - beach is close by (6min walk, or you could even park your car next to passenger drop off, beach chairs are a big small and rusty but still worked fine). Community pool, playground, indoor pool and fitness in fine condition. Pools didn't open until the end of our stay but we came early in the season and thanks to the weather and heated pool we didn't need the community pool anyways. The only two complaints we had: the a/c system is old - very old...top level was warm, loft area a sauna, bedroom level chilly but oh well, could have been worse. And the second complaint would be the pots and pans (very old and all of them terrible scratched). You ll get frustrated if you are big on cooking (I would even argue bring your own favorite pot and pan) but Duck and surroundings offers good take out and restaurant options.

Well stocked kitchen, wonderful pool, nice neighborhood. Food choices were good, donuts, bar (need to reserve one week in advance). Shopping variety was good but beach was too far away from rental.

The house itself, Just For Fun, was very well equipped. The layout was very nice and spacious. Beach chairs, bikes, boogie boards and even a surfboard were among the extras you don't find in many homes. The outdoor deck furniture was wonderful; hammock and hammock sling chairs. One of the nicest properties we've stayed at over the years.

Air unit temperature adjustment to limited always too cold and if you shut unit down too hot. Cold air freezes you out of master bath. pool area and decks nice heated pool very comfortable- nice swing and chairs.
Some more comprehensive clean up needed fans covered with extensive dust some large cob webs in vaulted ceiling areas. Found open left over soda can in utility storage room.

Pool area needed work with high grass plus grill not cleaned. Tacks protruding from stairs. Biggest issue granddaughter ( 3 years old ) got caught in the blinds on steps and fell 12 feet. Had to go to the emergency room for observation, doing fine, no concussion. Stairs are dangerous due to the space between the stairs and windows. I have already written a letter to the Beach Realty, also in the process of sending claim to the insurance company for the hospital.

The pool was perfect for our 21 month old and 2 other non swimmers. The kitchen is well appointed. The grill was not cleaned out and ash bucket was full. The grill is not nearly big enough to cook for the number of people this house accommodates. The walk to the beach is approximately 1 long NY city block and involves about 20 steps.

With five children and six adults we had plenty of room,beds, and bathrooms. The pool and hot tub were much appreciated and in good condition. The ice maker was very handy. The beach equipment was plentiful but rather dated. The kitchen was well-stocked and large enough to accommodate our group of many cooks. It was nice to have a grill, but it was lopsided from many uses. A gas grill would be a great addition. The outside bathroom was so dirty that it could not be used. The master bathroom was very dark and in serious need of an update with its vinyl floor and toilet with a permanent ring.

The location of our house was perfect—short walk to beach and downtown. JFF was well-equipped and we appreciated the ice maker. All of the beach materials were handy and used often. The many decks allowed for solitary time when it was needed. We really enjoyed the pool and hot tub.

Property was spacious and clean. Kitchen was well equipped and pool was beautiful. The association amenities were great for the kids with beach access and activity center. Would definitely return to this property.

We noticed some stains on one of blankets and on the carpet when we arrived. Overall was not a big deal, its not a brand new home and some of it can be expected. We had a good time on vacation then cleaned and left the place just like they asked. The day we left the management company came up with a list of items that they are charging us for that was already like that when we arrived! They accused us of urinating on an old couch because the cleaning lady said it smelled like urine, that was just absurd! We did not have pets and we did not urinate on the couch!! Management company (Beach Realty, AKA, Kitty Hawk Rentals and Construction) charged our credit card without our permission. After talking with them they advised they are still charging us for some of it and will send us the invoices to get their old couch and carpet cleaned. I would stay away from this company or spend the first 2 days of your vacation pulling up every cushion and taking hundreds of pictures of everything or youll be paying for all the previous tennants wear and tear. I feel like the property management company ruined our vacation experience. I wish we could speak to the owner of the home directly so they could be advised of what this company is doing. We were going to try to get the same house reserved for next year, now we wont rent any home from this company agian!

We loved the added amenities this year that made our move in easier. The weather was absolutely gorgeous and we spent many hours no the beach and community beach decks. The kids swam every day in the indoor pool and the adults enjoyed the hot tub in the evenings. We are very sad to leave and look forward to next year!

The rugs were worn throughout the house especially in the master bedroom. Some of the furniture in the living area had noticeable spots. That is addressing the negative of the cottage. The pluses out-waited the above. The family loved the pool layout especially the landscaping. In addition the distance to town was a big hit, the bikes that were provided were used every day especially to keep from using the cars. Another hit was Michelle at the Duck office, she kept us informed about the upcoming hurricane conditions. The family is still discussing next year, their is only one issue that they would like to see is that the cottage is closer to the beach. Having four small grandchildren was a little distance.
