I’m beyond pleased with my stay. We decided to extend 4 more nights and will most likely extend even more. I have no idea how this place gets a “bad” score on booking.com. it really exceeded all our expectations.
Loved the outdoor kitchen its such a chill place to cook, hangout and socialise. The other common areas are big and super nice.
The surrounding scenery is stunning and its located just on the beach.
The wifi worked all around the facilities and I was able to do some studying and movie streaming without any problems at all.
Common areas and kitchen were nice and clean, rooms cleaned everyday and bed made.
Its a great place for surfing but also amazing even if you dont surf.
I really have no negative things to say. Probably the best hostel ive stayed at on this central america backpacking trip.
4.5

I really liked the location and the proximity to the beach
Cockroaches in the room and the most insane amount of mosquitos. I live in Costa Rica and have been to ST multiple times including this year. I have never been bitten so badly. You could see them in the room and other travellers said the same thing. You should offer mosquito nets over the bed.

the location is great. Very close to the beach with its own entrance to the beach. The staff was nice.
For the price maybe should throw in some little breakfast. But at least there was coffee.

Easy access to the beach. Multiple kitchens spread across the site which is great as hostel kitchens often get really busy but this wasn’t the case as each section of the hostel had its own kitchen for a set number of rooms. Had something going on most nights if you wanted to be sociable/ have a cheap cooker dinner too!
Have good options for yours and ATV rental here too
The private room we booked didn’t have much storage which if we were there for more than 3 days might have been a bit annoying but it was clean and tidy! We were also at the end of the strip so you had to take a shuttle or rent an ATV to get to the other end really, you could walk but it was quite far we thought personally.

Dit hostel ligt direct aan de zee!
Vrij gehorig en geen faciliteiten voor het bestellen van een drankje of hapje.

Great staff they really tried to help. We got changed to a bungalow that was great
We stayed in the van which was cool. But it had no curtains so you woke up early. It was also a bit small.
There was a nest of red ants in the toilet in which I stepped at night. So had bites all over my feet for the next week
2.5
Pretty although it needed a bit of tidying up around outside area.
Felt like the staff lacked customer service, I was never shown around the facilities or anything. Didn’t feel the most welcomed, other than that it’s a pretty hostel with a good location.
4.5
The hostel is on the beach in Santa Teresa, a very beautiful location. Lots of restaurants within walking distance.
Nothing to share! All was great!

Really beautiful place, clean and comfortable, friendly staff and guests, direct access to the beach with surf straight in front, great kitchen amenities, great outdoor spots for chilling.

Exceptional value for money, facilities, location and happy, friendly staff (including the lovely doggies)
Nothing except people playing music from their phones or portable speakers… I prefer listening to Costa Rica’s nature, wildlife and singing birds

the hostel is really nice, well located. big and confortable kitchen. ask for rooms with ac,
other ways is too warm. Mica and Juan were really helpful and nice

great outdoor area and amazing location in front of surf at the beach

Right on the sea front, nice yoga class and easy surf board hire. Great kitchen facilities. Saw howler monkeys in the tree in the property (but not disturbed sleep). Comfy bed. Receptionist was really helpful.
Nothing - really enjoyed our stay :)

large property, lots of different places to stay from a dorm to private rooms. Felt very private and super easy to get to the beach.

Location was great on beach
Room was very hot , a little expensive
4.5
Right on the beach, dorm rooms were quiet and comfortable.
Just stayed shortly but didn’t feel it was a place to meet many new people (because of big size compared to other hostels)

the location is the best, for a surfer. it’s right on the beach, which I loved so much. it’s in the forest that backs up onto the beach. directly out front is a great surf break, I love La Lora to surf. it’s in the north part of town and has really good restaurants around. despite the other reviews the staff was super friendly and helpful. they catered to my needs right away. I attended a really good yoga class in the morning on the property, you have to pay, it’s discounted for guests. the room with a king bed I stayed in was super nice, clean and modern. I love the closed off outdoor patio garden area. it was very spacious. nice well equipped kitchen. I think the room is way batter than the photos. the photos make it look dark and dingy but in reality it was nice natural lighting, it’s a well shaded area under trees, great to keep the super hot heat out. the AC works great. comfy bed
the king room was attached to an apartment type place and I could hear the people next door talking in the mornings and evenings and when they were walking up the stairs above the room. it was noisier than I would have liked, I’m sensitive to noise. I asked the staff for a fan for white noise and they delivered right away which helped.
It was annoying to have to pay in cash. it was an expensive room and I had to do 3 atm transactions to get all the cash, which cost me $21 in fees because the closest atm was $7 per transaction. also the closest atm is a 20
minute walk away.
