We felt as if we were staying in a comfortable designer showcase. I want to hire the owners to help me with my own home's design after staying there. As the final destination of our two week trip, it was the perfect setting to relax and prepare for return. Livingston is a lovely town with charm and authenticity.

Wonderful property. The most put-together place we have stayed. Everything we needed was there. Location was great. Very close to downtown Livingston, which has nice shops and galleries. Food was excellent. Restaurant service and hours will improve when employment situation stabilizes. Distance to Yellowstone Park was convenient. Definitely want to stay here again.

The outpost was a great location in downtown Livingston. We loved being able to walk to shopping and great food and other activities. We especially like the Gill and Neptune’s. The bed was very comfortable and we really appreciated the cold beverages. We would stay there again next time we come back.

We took our son back to Bozeman to start his senior year at MSU and all the usual hotels we stay in were charging 4-5x their usually rate ($600+/night)! Started looking for VRBOs and found The Outpost in Livingston, MT...just a 25 drive away. It is fabulous! Really nicely appointed (the pictures are a good representation), super clean, comfortable, quiet neighborhood but close to restaurants and downtown Livingston. Great kitchen and living area, comfy beds, spacious bathroom and closets. Plenty of space for us and our younger son when he stayed the last night. Jim and Dana have thought of every little detail (i.e. stocked fridge with drinks, great linens, and motion-detector night lights) and were very easy to communicate with, they answered any questions we had. We would definitely stay here again.

Cleanest place ever! Spacious kitchen, bedroom and closet space. Comfortable bed. Great washer and dryer. We loved everything about the Outpost. Even the floors! If we were return to Livingston, we would not stay anyplace but The Outpost.

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights as part of child-free getaway and we could not have asked for a better spot to stay. Jim and Dana were super welcoming, made check-in easy for us and followed to make sure we were settled in and whether we needed anything else. The unit itself is delightful - it newly done and very tastefully decorated. It's clear that Jim and Dana put so much care into it - you feel at home the second you walk in. From the warm and comfy decor to little details like shower slippers, we felt so well taken care of. the Outpost is located right in the heart of downtown, but it's hidden and we never heard noise or saw too many people. It was like a retreat, where we could walk to all that downtown Livingston has to offer. We highly recommend it for anyone looking to explore Livingston, Bozeman or Yellowstone (the north entrance is only 52miles on a fast-moving highway).

Everything was wonderful. Carefully and well equipped. Super comfortable bed. Comfortable and attractive living room. And, we really appreciated the air conditioning given the high temps while we were there.! Only critique: soften the cement floors with more rugs. Also would have preferred a dinning table rather than the barstool arrangement. (We’re old guys!). Overall, it was great for our needs!

My husband and I stayed for three nights at the end of June. The Outpost was so beautifully decorated and thoroughly appointed. The place was cozy and very comfortable and had everything we could possibly need, including complimentary drinks and slippers, which were extra special touches. While the condo is situated in an alley, the location was right in downtown Livingston and walking distance to stores, restaurants , and the gorgeous river. We would gladly rent the Outpost again!

We had a great time during our stay. The location was fantastic and the place was perfect. We lacked for nothing as the owners thought of everything. We enjoyed how spacious it was! There isn’t a better place in Livingston!

Our stay at the Outpost could not have been better! This brand new renovation was spotlessly clean, efficient, fully stocked in the kitchen and bath (that includes a nice deep tub!), with crisp, fresh linens on the bed, and a welcoming living area where we relaxed in front of the fireplace. It is conveniently located in downtown Livingston, within easy walking distance of restaurants, coffee shops and commercial area, and just a 3 block walk to Sacajewa Park and paths along the Yellowstone River. We will definitely stay at the Outpost again!

This is an amazing place with so many great amenities and the perfect location for fishing, hiking, and the town of Livingston. Owners were extremely helpful and friendly. Very spacious house, downtown, with very quiet area to relax. The house, and the community, made us feel as though we were a part of Livingston!

Dana was wonderful to work with. Our trip became tentative because of Covid 19, then we had flight issues. Dana remained accessible and helpful. Once we arrived, we found a gem!! The place is beautiful! It's obvious that a lot of attention was given to the layout, functionality, and decor. The needs of the guests were carefully considered and made us feel welcome with all the comforts of home. It is obvious that Dana and Jim put a lot of love and pride into creating this wonderful space, just one block from Main Street. I would highly recommend this unit; you will not be disappointed.

Literally everything about The Outpost is perfect. From booking to communication to the condo to the location. I booked the place somewhat blindly off of a few photos and reviews on VBRO when my husband and I were looking for a weekend get away in Livingston. My expectations were exceeded at every turn! When I told her we were arriving late, Dana went over to turn the outside lights on and the heat up. Then, when we arrived, we were greeted by a new and gorgeous place where they thought of every single thing. And, the master bed was so warm and comfy .. we almost didn’t want to leave! But, being right off the main strip (but still super quiet) we got out and enjoyed the town each day before returning home in the evening for chill time in front of the electric fire. Huge thanks to Dana and Jim for creating and sharing such an amazing place!

This hidden gem is ideal for the perfect getaway to Livingston. It’s location to town make your days of window shopping and evening stroll a must. The place is beautiful and relaxing after a day on the water or at Yellowstone. If I could give it a 10 I would. It is so nice these days to have the extra touches that Jim & Dana provided. Jim and Dana have created a very comfortable, beautifully appointed rental space that will be our go-to place when we visit family in Livingston, MT. The Outpost is accessible just off Main Street with two parking spaces. Gorgeous and spacious accommodations for two adults, with a separate small room for 1-2 kids. Contemporary design created a wow factor when we arrived. Huge closets! Large bathroom made it easy for two adults to share without bumping into each other. Loved the deep tub. Well stocked bathroom and kitchen cabinets. Very comfortable king bed. Brand new appliances, including a stacked washer and dryer for those of us who plan to stay for days. Our grandkids loved the front patio furnished with a picnic table and Adirondack chairs for afternoon happy hour treats and morning coffee. Easy walk to coffee shops, restaurants, and downtown Livingston shopping. Dana and Jim communicated regularly to be sure we had all we needed. I only hope we can get a reservation again, knowing their glowing reviews will keep this place hopping.

This is a fantastic property. It’s high-end finishes really stand out and are quite inviting. In a word, this place is extraordinary. We loved our time here. Hope to return. It’s close to everything in town, and although it doesn’t have a landscaped view, the patio and sitting area are warm and inviting. Easy access. Truly a place to enjoy! They thought of everything!

Would stay here again without even checking any other listings. The Outpost is right in the heart of downtown Livingston, making walking the city a breeze, including hitting up the awesome food scene in the evening. Easy access to right-out-the-door off street parking is a bonus for those traveling with fishing or other gear. We stayed six nights and made use of the high-end new kitchen and laundry facilities. Beds are super comfortable and bathroom is spacious and well appointed, and the main living area is great for winding down. It’s a tremendous place. Stay here. Note the Outpost does not have any vistas—but if you’re in Livingston and looking for great views while sitting inside, you’re in the wrong city. Jim and Dana are very friendly and very responsive. Can’t wait to be back.

Amazing property and location! This is a new gem to Livingston and will be our favorite place to stay for future visits. Check in was easy and communication great. Some of the highlights: The porch. Great picnic table to sit outside for meals and enjoy the cool Montana mornings/evenings! Modern Montana decorating. Comfy bed, beautiful cement floors, attention to detail and the place stayed cool even on the hotter days! New high end appliances. Washer and dryer were perfect to do our laundry before we left for home! The kitchen is well appointed and we were able to cook meals easily. Internet was fast also which is a nice perk! The location! Right off of downtown, and less than a block to Neptune’s Taphouse and other downtown businesses. Only a couple blocks from the river. The outpost has plenty of space with a pull out couch for a second room in a den. Thank you for adding this property to Livingston. It is clear you put a ton of work into the home and it will be enjoyed and loved by Vrbo renters as they visit the area!
