Layout suited us location great lovely and warm

Gertie's was an amazing comfortable place to stay and Elaine was so helpful and accommodating.

It was clean,well equipt, modern and ideally situated.

Das Cottage ist super schön und stilvoll ein gerichtet - die Bilder geben es sehr gut wieder (es sind nicht nur die schönen Ecken fotografiert!) - mit viel Liebe zum Detail. Die Küche ist sehr gut ausgestattet, mit sehr viel Geschirr und Pfannen und allem was man so braucht. Ausreichend gutes WLAN, Fernseher mit Netflix und Wii gibt es auch, falls das Wetter mal nicht ganz so super ist. Es liegt sehr ruhig und doch zentral, einen Steinwurf vom Hafen entfernt. Der Ort ist sehr süss mit einer Einkaufstrasse voller kleiner Läden (wo gibt es sowas noch...). Wir haben genau nach so einem Cottage in einem kleinen englischen Ort gesucht und es in Amble gefunden. Aus unserer Sicht haben sich die etwas höheren Mietkosten voll rentiert.

We had a great week in Amble. The cottage was great for the kids, grown ups and dog. Elaine left such a lovely welcome package for us and our dog, we felt instantly at home. Amble harbour was a short walk and we had some great meals there. There is so much to do with the kids in the local area. We will definitely be back

Ideally situated, in a nice quiet area, for exploring beautiful Northumberland. Cottage as listed, clean, cosy and with everything you need provided by the hosts and the welcome package was a lovely surprise. Likely to book again in future and would recommend it.

Very clean, spacious and comfortable. Well furnished and supplied - the welcome basket was a generous touch! Also well priced, we were only one couple but even with 3 bedrooms it was affordable. Seaside location was very picturesque and fairly close to Alnwick to visit the garden and castle (if so inclined). Also fairly close to other tourist properties (Cragside - well worth a visit, Seaton Delval and many more), though all most easily and efficiently got to by car.

Brilliant accommodation. Arrived at house - easy check in, house was immaculate and spotlessly clean. We had the most lovely weekend as a family of girls celebrating. Would definitely recommend and visit again, and a huge Thankyou to Elaine!

Contemporary open plan interior, with a cozy feel. Immaculately presented. Welcome pack was much appreciated. Good location close to harbour and beach. Other attractions close by with beautiful beaches, castles, country parks etc.

Had a brilliant stay with three generations enjoying the house and facilities in Amble. Short walk to the marina and shops/restaurants.

Lovely property in an excellent location. Communication with Elaine was very good, very responsive. Can't fault it.

Property was exactly what we were after, a lovely place to relax in the evenings after exploring the north east coast. The small back garden is a little sun trap for the moments when the sun did finally break through and we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Lovely property with everything you could wish for. Tastefully furnished and decorated to a high standard. Plenty of places to visit in the surrounding area and Amble itself is lovely. Well worth a visit.

A beautiful property, immaculately presented and close to amenities and good gin bar and restaurants. Very well equipped kitchen, comfy beds, fluffy towels. Cant fault it, shame about the weather so we couldnt use the lovely decked patio

We visited Gertie’s Getaway as a family of 5 (children aged between 4-13) and had a wonderful time. The owners were great with communications beforehand and the property itself had everything we needed and was plenty big enough for all of us. The little patio out the back is a real sun trap. We really didn’t need to leave Amble at all as it had beaches, rock pools, great playgrounds, walks, restaurants and shops. Next time we will bring our bikes and explore the coastal paths more. This was our first trip to Northumberland and the beaches, castles and people were every bit as amazing as we had been told.
