Took the family for a week stay on the North Shore. Great trip. Amenities were good. Not great but good.

We stayed here for a week, and unfortunately, it was a disappointment for our family. There are only 2 window-unit A/C in the condo(1 upstairs bedroom, 1 downstairs bedroom) and there is no A/C in living room, upstairs loft, bathrooms, hallway, etc. which we knew when we booked the place. The only problem was that the upstairs A/C did not work at all while we were there so we had to sleep in 85-90 degrees sweltering hot room the entire week. We contacted the management and the owner, but the only advice they gave us was that the A/C is working, and to close the door, get all the fans going and it will cool down. I insisted it wasn’t working but the repair person decided that it’s working. We followed the advice and we did everything they told us but it was still sweltering hot all day/all night all week long. We decided to spend majority of the day/evening at my brother’s rental unit in the same Kuilima condo just to avoid sweating all day. They also just had window unit A/C but it was WORKING and it felt like heaven! This condo was nice and clean, and wished we could’ve actually enjoyed it. But after paying more than $4,500, I wasn’t expecting to spend the whole week in 85-90 degree sauna like conditions. Needless to say, I cannot recommend this place and I wish we knew the conditions before we booked it.

Our family of five had a pleasant stay for 11 nights in this place. The condo is spacious, well equipped and nicely furnished and decorated with a beautiful view from the living room. We liked that the location is close enough to take a walk to a few beautiful beaches. The resort has nice paths with tropical trees around. I gave the condo overall rating 4 * because of a few things we didn't like. The ACs in both bedrooms were very noisy and interfered with our sleeping. The upstairs bathroom is tiny, too small for use by three people who slept upstairs. All the towels except the beach ones need to be replaced by new ones. They didn't look and smell fresh from the beginning, even when we washed them after a few days. The same was true for the bathroom foot mat in the upstairs bathroom. Also, to our surprise there was no body wash in both bathrooms. Overall, we enjoyed our stay there despite the mentioned shortcomings.

We were able to create new and lasting memories with our young adult nieces and nephew. The location was perfect. Lots to do in the area and surrounded by beaches with great food truck options. It was the perfect vacation. We hope to return soon!

This property is in a good location on the North Shore - right next to Turtle Bay Resort. You can walk to Turtle Bay although you will need to drive everywhere else but we found the drives to be doable and not prohibitive of going to other parts of the island. The condo itself is good - nothing fancy - but just fine as a home base. Bedrooms and loft are quite warm for sleeping (we were then end of June) and a/c units are noisy. Property manager very responsive and helpful while there!

This was a perfect place to stay with our extended family while attending a Turtle Bay wedding. Comfortably fit six of us, and easy walking distance from the resort. Sitting outside facing the golf course in the morning was our favorite time here, and we appreciated the sunburn treatment in the closet. Communication and check-in / check-out was great. We'd happily stay here again.

Location, location, location. This property is close to everything that matters on the North Shore - surfing beaches and La'ie. Loved having A/C in the bedrooms. Small but super functional kitchen with everything one needs. We honestly didn't go to the golf course or use any of the community amenities as we spent our time away most of the time. But everything looked great. The only thing I wish the community had is a jacuzzi.

This vacation rental unit was a perfect base for our family to prepare for our mother's 80th surprise birthday party. The condo felt spacious and our grandchildren enjoyed the loft sleeping area. We definitely took advantage of the walking paths, the beach at the resort and of course, the scenery. We never regret staying on the North Shore, despite the distance to other parts of the island that we also frequent. Would most certainly recommend this unit.

This is a great place. The location next to the resort and beaches is awesome. The unit was well appointed. The kitchen had everything we needed. The bedding and furniture aren't the most comfortable. The property manager responded to a request from my wife immediately even though it wasn't necessary, thank you!

Great location. Was very clean and comfortable. The beds were comfortable. Like others have said there is not ac in the main room but once you get the air flowing it is very pleasant. Ac in the bedrooms was great. Wonderful location. Fit two adults and four kids very well. Comes with nice boogie boards and sand toys goo.

The property was exactly as described, clean and comfortable with very good supply of items needed such as in the kitchen, bathrooms and beach items. The only thing that would have been better is if the entire property was air conditioned.

Whole family had a wonderful time.

This property was fantastic! It had enough room to fit our family of 2 adults, 2 teenagers, and our grown son, his wife, and their infant daughter. Having an updated and clean kitchen was helpful to provide meals so that we didn't have to eat out every day. Thanks for keeping a few cooking staples in the pantry. The unit was clean. Boogey boards, snorkel gear, beach towels, and camp chairs that were provided were greatly appreciated so that we didn't have to pack our own in our luggage. Hose on the back porch was super helpful for cleaning off from beach before dragging sand into the unit. Beds were firm and pillows were plentiful. Portable crib was put to good use. Fans throughout the unit kept us cool. Air conditioning in bedrooms worked well. Communication with manager was great! Betsie was clear and quick to respond. Since Turtle Bay is a large property, we expected the complex to be filled with many guests. We were pleasantly surprised at how quiet the entire property was. It is a beautifully landscaped area, helping to bring peaceful feelings while going for walks. We also expected it to be too far away from our hub of Laie, but the short 7-12 minute drive was never a damper on our excursions. Good running trails on site. We never used the pools because there were so many beaches to explore. Even though we prefer to be right in Laie, we would choose this property again because of its abundant space, cleanliness, quietness, and provided amenities.

Traveling with teenage boys and elderly parents. Unit had everything we needed for cooking meals and fun at all the nearby beaches. Air conditioning is only in bedrooms, but there are fans for the beds in the loft area and you can get a very nice cross breeze downstairs by opening up the front door (which has a locked security screen) and back patio. Spent a lot of time on the patio watching birds and people on the adjacent golf course.

It’s the quiet side of the island . The bridge collapsed caused a little issue if you need to get to the ranch for Jurassic Park Tour(hopefully will be fixed soon). Very close to a lots of great beaches, good food trucks and hiking. Lots of stuff to use was available at the condo boogie boards, snorkeling stuff,beach towels. Resort would not allow us to pay or use the gym we were hoping to be able. No close gyms.. It does get warm during the day as you can’t leave the ac on or sliding doors open to get airflow when your gone during the day. It was a good place to stay just warm at night especially the the loft with the twin beds. My recommendation fix windows upstairs so handles works to open and close . Fix sidewalk path light. Maybe another large fan for upstairs. Again it was a peaceful place to stay.

We loved having the Kawela Bay condo as our home base for a week of adventures. The condo itself is well-represented in its description. It is clean, spacious, and centrally located. We were very comfortable for our week's vacation with my husband and two teens. The location provides easy access to Turtle Bay Resort and placed us in the middle between north end food trucks and exploring and Haleiwa and beaches to the south. We also enjoyed the walking paths available directly from the condo. We did have a small issue with keys which was quickly fixed. We also had to replenish paper goods to last the week. As previously mentioned, the downstairs a/c is more powerful then upstairs. The breeze through was sufficient for cooling during the day. The back porch opens to a golf course which was closed when we visited and open to walking and playing. The highway is beyond the golf course. Beach towels, snorkel gear, and boogie boards were provided which was nice. Overall, we were happy with our visit and would happily choose this listing again!

We had a wonderful stay at this property. It was everything the listing suggested and was quite clean and prepared for our stay. The beauty and peacefulness of the location can’t be underestimated. Excellent contact with the host. Highly recommended for a North Shore family vacation.

I do have to say that the overriding benefit of this property was its great location in turtle Bay. Fantastic place to stay for access to North Shore activities. Not having been to these properties before, it was not clear in the listing that central AC was not part of the deal. The upstairs bedroom and the downstairs bedroom had wall units. The upstairs bedroom would not adequately be cooled by the single unit. The downstairs bedroom was cooled fine. The rest of the house was terribly hot in a relatively nice month of May. The showerheads were dirty and the AC units had mold inside them. Bring your own towels, because the towels they have smell and need to be replaced. Listing says it sleeps seven. It was not clear that the seventh bed was a futon couch that was terribly uncomfortable. This should be a listing for six people. Beware that the loft is very hot even at night. Communication before arrival was fantastic. I did contact the manager on arrival and did not get called back until the next day. Overall not even close to being worth the price, the flipside as you’re not gonna find anything in such a great location for the price. If they could clean this place up, replace the towels and put a larger unit in the master and another AC unit to cover the loft and living area, this place would be amazing. Lastly, having six people take showers, you quickly that’s cold water by the third shower!
