We enjoyed our stay!! The house was nice and clean!! The ONLY complaints we really had was that some of the dishes didn't look all that clean (I think maybe they were put up wet or something tho), the hot tub really needed a good cleaning, and the internet/wifi didn't have the strongest connection so we had some children a little upset about screens lagging and freezing (LOL!! 🤣) BUT I'm sure that's not anything that necessarily can be helped with location and all... other than that everything was good tho!! I would definitely rent again and recommend this rental!! 🙂

We loved this place. After reading other reviews, I was worried about cleanliness... the kitchen table and bar downstairs did have a couple of sticky spots but that's it. It wasn't dirty other than that and wasn't dusty at all. The furniture was a little older, but did not take away from our stay and the beds were comfortable. We had no issues with the wifi and the TV had Roku hooked up so we were able to stream movies. The sauna and hot tub both worked...they did a full hot tub water change before we checked in but it was still warm enough for us to use that night. The deer in the area came almost right up to us! Would definitely stay again.

I have a huge itemized list of what's wrong, but the gist is that it hasn't been properly cleaned in a very long time. Kitchen needs a good overhaul, with working appliances, more/different dishes, etc.

The cabin Great location, but very Dirty of dusty, previous tenet left stuff there, chairs need fixe, missing lights bulbs also all windows and doors not properly seal.

Bottom line, i will never stay on this cabin again but i would use Caroline Cabin Rentals again to look for another cabin, although their housekeeping crew needs help, lots of help. When we first walked into the Beech Bum Chalet the place smelled like very old home. We found the place was not very clean. We found mice pooping on the dinning table, kitchen counters, stove, even on one bed. The cabin was organized but dirty. The comforter covers on all the beds looked very old, stained/dirty, and smelled dirty. I pulled one of the them off to find a back sock under it from the previous guest. The white sheets on all beds looked clean but I did not trust to sleep on them. I took pictures and emailed them to the cabin staff who were very prompt to respond and offered to come clean. I declined since my sisters had already been clean the kitchen for about an hour. I can tell the owner doesn't care to invent in upgrading the cabin for years. All Furniture, kitchen appliance, bed comforters, electronics, all looked from the 80s. I told the staff i was not happy there, mostly for the dirty conditions, and they gave me the option to move to another cabin close by but we decided to stay since the other cabin was smaller and didn't have enough beds for 7. I just decided to leave early, i stayed only 2 nights instead of 3 as planned. The Cabin staff gave me credit for the 3rd night i chose not to use and also offered $100 credit for doing my own cleaning of the place. The staff was very nice and responsive (dropped clean bed sheets the first night we arrived). Another issue we had was the wifi. It went down very often. I had to reset it may times and mess with a loosed cable on the router to fix it multiple times. Again this is a result of very old and out of date equipment. One thing my family enjoyed was the view outside, the hot tab (that was nice), and the few games they had on the downstairs bedroom. BTW, the downstair bedroom looks nice, i can tell it was built and added to the cabin recently as it looked newer and in better condition. We arrived on Nov 20 and checked out Nov 22 2020.

Everything was great, beautiful house. The only thing is the cleaning, dishes were not clean, bathrooms floors were not clean, it was dusty all the way around, trash in the closet. But definitely I would pick this house again.

Overall the Cabin was nice and in a good location. We were surrounded by a family of deer all weekend and the kids loved being able to look out of the windows and see them so close. The hot tub, Sauna, and Foosball table were big hits with the 3 small kids that were with us. A few things to work on... It was HOT inside. I understand that being in the mountains most places do not have AC as it's not really needed most of the time but a few fans would have gone a LONG way. We had the windows open all stay just to keep the temps somewhat down inside. Also, the house itself was not very clean. I expected more especially with the current pandemic going on. The floors and counters/tabletop were dirty upon our arrival to the point that my wife and her best friend basically cleaned most of Friday evening. And the downstairs bathroom beside the Sauna smelled of rotten fish. That door stayed closed with the fan on our whole stay. To say I was disappointed in that is a huge understatement. Overall the cabin was nice though. I can tell the owners are trying to update it as they go. The newer renovations are very nice and a point in the right direction. Had the place been cleaned better and a fan or two for each bedroom it would have gotten 5 stars for sure.

The house and location were great!!! Loved the deer that came in the afternoon. We will definitely come back!!!

Tv control never found. We told customer service they never did anything about it Ac upstairs broken Sofa dirty smells also Hot tub dirty Video game console broken Reported all this issues and no one did anything about it.

Stayed here again at this house and we had a great time. We had a couple of mild issues with amenities on the property, called Carolina Cabin Rentals and they responded quickly and politely. Issues fixed within an hour or so. Nothing to complain about other than the deer not coming close through the yard, last year we hand fed them in the mornings from the front porch and at night by the fire pit. Great home, at a great location and looking forward to coming back in three weeks.

It was a great peaceful stay at the beginning it was everything but that. the hot tub was dirty it was no hot water TV's didn't work spider web. Now after I cleaned the hot tub fixed the TV's and fixed the hot water REMINDER THIS WAS MY VACATION!!!!!! now after all that we had a great time in my opinion the place just needs a good updating and the house keeping needs to be revaluated definitely

Great location and awesome house if you are going to beech mountain with friends/family. 10/10 will rent again.

This is an old and very outdated cabin. We paid lots of money for basically so less. $3000 for 5 nights, so $600/night and all that is in this cabin is old, sofas are dirty, there is a bad smell as soon as you enter the cabin. The cleaning lady did her best but this cabin really needs some improvements. In the bathrooms you have plastic liquid soap containers but you get a solid soap, so is the owner trying to tell you to buy the liquid soap or they put them there just for decoration? We had to buy lots of stuff to make our stay pleasant, starting with toilet paper. Each room is getting 2 big towels and that's it. We had to wash and dry them daily. The only thing that we like is that the cabin is very close to the slopes and the local store (5 minutes).

A review without serious comments is useless. We had a GREAT time and will return. The following comments are not meant to be offensive but constructive. Overall very good value and good location. Landscape could use some cleaning. Not confident of hot tub cleanliness and could not get very warm. A few of the doors inside don't close well and the pocket doors downstairs don't lock. Deck on main floor would be much more enjoyable if covered. Our weather was not great and had some rain for a day and a half. Mud room could use some attention. Downstairs tub does not drain very well. The forks provided are awkward shape. Parking is better than indicated on website. Midsize cars can easily be parked perpendicular to road. Easy 3 or even 4 with clear roads. We were a group of 7 adults and 3 children and 1 infant and were not crowded. Very easy escape/retreat areas. Another stuffed chair upstairs would be great. I would loose the Foosball table downstairs. Outdoor storage shed has broken door and looks bad. As stated, I don't waste time with simple star reviews. Looking forward to return.

We had an amazing time in our woman retreat, the service provided any time we called was very quick. Great place to retreat, to find that peace that overpass all human understanding. I love the view. Our time was indescribable. Amazing. We thanks God for this place.

The cabin is very nice. Only complaints were the stained worn pillows, couch needs a steam cleaning, and the front door needs realigning. We had trouble locking and unlocking it without pressing on the door. Awesome otherwise!

The home was great good location but I would look into a new oven and Barbour . Also unless we missed it would be good to have instruction on how to use the tv wi overall it was a great stay

Very nice. The bedroom bathroom layout worked out well with our family of 6 adults and 2 small children. The hot tub and sauna were very relaxing. We enjoyed skiing, skating, tubing and hiking. Great location.

The sitting area sits 4 comfortably. There was 8 towels for 10 people for four days. The stove was horribly dirty. The coffee pot did not work. We did not find a pool table. There was 7 usable chairs for the dining table, 1 unusable. The house should be listed for 8 people. The couch let's out for a bed but again not usable as well as it had chips and a dirty sock in it. We have rented houses in the mountains for 11 years and this is the first bad review we have ever posted.

This house is in need of major renovation and I will not stay here again.

We have rented from Carolina Cabins before, the Majestic Mountain Haus, and loved it. This house was listed as being able to sleep 10. However, the hide a bed sofa is not usable without a blowup on top. When we opened the sofa, there was chips and a dirty sock in it. We were furnished 8 towels and bath cloths for 4 days and 10 people. The sitting area has seating for four people. The dining area had 8 chairs, one not usable, for 10 people. The listing noted a pool table and there was not one. The hot tub is only accessible if you can jump in it. No steps so only the young people could us it and no towels for it. So to say we were most disappointed, would be to say the least. I am going to write a review. Listing needs to be updated.

We enjoyed the quiet and peaceful area, the only complaints we had were the beds and lack of seating in living room. Beds need new updated mattresses, all of them were hard and lumpy. The living room only had seating for 4 people and sleeping accommodations for 10???? So we had to stay in the dining room table which did hold everyone but the seats are wooden and no cushions. If it was warm you could go on the deck but at this time of the year it is way too cool for that.

We really enjoyed our stay at Beech Bum! The views were beautiful and the house was comfortable and cozy. The kids LOVED the games provided and the tv's in the rooms. We loved the location and that there were hiking trails in the neighborhood. We loved the large kitchen table we could all eat around comfortably! Even though we never used the sauna and hot tub, it was really great to have them there to use! The only things we would change would be to add some extra seating in the living room and to have a newer/better mattress in the downstairs bedroom - we woke up with horrible backaches every morning after sleeping in that bed. If those two things change, we would love to know so we can come back!
