Wow! This beautiful house is absolutely amazing; the view, the room, the breakfast, the friendly staff and the luxurious feel to it.

The location is amazing, we simply loved it.

The hotel is underinvested and the room smells a bit from mold. It could be truly amazing if it had been kept in better shapeand was managed a bit better.

The Southern Cross Beach House is situated right above the beach with direct access. The view from the terrace is amazing and we loved the family athmosphere and the home made food for breakfast.

No hot water. Host forgot to switch geyser on but she did offer to move us to another room. Everything else was great though. Friendly staff, delicious breakfast, beautifully decorated room.

Great location, lovely house. The owner is lovely and very helpful.

The manager was officious and treated us like we were freeloaders in "her home" (which it wasn't, and we were paying a lot for the privilege). There is no heating.

Excellent location for sunrise and access to beach

Friendly welcome, excellent staff, playful dogs, comfortable bed, stylish interiors, beautiful garden, view of Robberg, proximity to the beach, Wendy’s poached eggs !

The picture shows an air conditioner on the wall, but there wasn't one in the room. Room was quite small.

The walkway to the beach

Unfortunately this stay was a terrible experience. The breakfast was very poor. Cold, raw pancakes was slapped onto our plates (whether one wanted pancakes or not); the muffins was served in an old dirty muffin pan; fruit in glasses that was overripe and already brown; no table cloth, no small plates, no knife to cut the big blocks of cheese... The warm breakfast was okay except the plate did not look appetising at all. Only filter coffee available, and just with breakfast. For a 4-star guesthouse you should have a Nespresso coffee machine or some machine that can make espresso coffee or cappuccino's. The bathroom was very old with old fittings. There was no water in the rooms and no vanity kit, no toilet spray, sand fleas in the kitchen at the sitting area. The old television was very small and did not work (also not suitable for the size of the room).

This is an historic, but perfectly maintained Victorian-Style wooden mansion. The interior is "original retro style" e.g. free standing cast-iron tub, but also separated cranes for hot and for cold water at the sink. These minor drawbacks in comfort are more than compensated by the terrific "all in white" victorian athmosphere of the Mansion and garden with Ocean view and direct beach access via the board walk. The manager - Wendy - is a super sympathetic person and the breakfast is just superb !!! (Best omlette ever : )
