If you are looking for a place to stay near the plitvice national park, you should definitely book Pension Mrzlin Grad. It is only a 20 min drive to the entrance of the park. The owners are really kind and welcoming. It has a great view, overlooking the fields. The pool is definitely a big plus. Our room was in the new building, everything was nice and clean. It is located in a small village with various restaurants and a supermarket. There’s also a restaurant at the pension, where they serve local food (like bear, deer, local cheese etc.) and they also have a small breakfast buffet. I definitely recommend it!

Its a really magical place with a very string vibe, dedicated iwners and excellent style. I give my highest recommendation.

We stayed at this guest house in September 2021. The cozy cottage in the photo is the old, original guest house. A new building opened last year with beautiful, spacious rooms with balconies and a large bathroom with walk-in shower. We stayed in the deluxe double room. Everything was very clean upon arrival. In the hall of this large building was a place to relax room with a fireplace that can be fired up on request. At the rear of the building is a reasonably sized swimming pool, with sun loungers and chairs next to it. Everything can be seen on their own website. The host Martin was very friendly and helpful as well as his staff. Immediately after arrival he booked and printed the tickets for the Plitvice Lakes for us via the internet. Furthermore, they served us excellently during our stay. A new building with a cozy restaurant has also been opened this year, where you can enjoy a delicious meal. Every day there was a 'surprise' menu as Martin called it (chief daily special) where you could choose of meat (game) or fish. There is also goulash from game on the menu every day. Just like the surprise menu, just delicious. The breakfast was very extensive and delicious. You can also sit outside on the small terrace and enjoy the great view over the meadows and the valley while enjoying a drink and snack. Nearby are several restaurants, in case you would like to eat somewhere else. (But you must have experienced at least the 'surprise' meal before doing so :>) ) The Pltivice lakes are very easy to reach from the pension, just a 15-20 minute drive on the main road, The road from the A1 to Korenica was a easy and quit road to drive. We will surely return when we will visit the Pltivce lakes again.

All in all: one of the best stays we had in Croatia! Very lovely stuff, they are very interested in having contact to their guests. The surrounding is just peaceful and beautiful. The food in the beautiful restaurant is everyday fresh and so good! Plitvicer lakes are about 15 min driving away, and the pool is wonderful to have a relaxed afternoon after hiking during the day. I can highly recommend this hotel !

Great food from fresh homemade ingredients and welcoming lovely hosts. The rooms were clean and way bigger than expected. Easily the best place we’ve stayed in Croatia so far.

We stayed for two nights to visit the Plitvicer lakes and we enjoyed it very much. The rooms and the beds are very comfortable. The breakfast has a variety of food with self-made elderflower juice and ham. The owner also asked us if we’d like to have lunch for the national park and he prepared a salad for us. In the evening they serve a three-course menu which was also very delicious. The owners are really friendly, helpful and warm-hearted. They made us feel welcome.

The view and the place were beautiful! Dario received us like friends (or better!), he was very thoughful and kind. The food was good, original and local. The news houses that are being constructed are almost finished, soon there will be spacious double rooms. It is a bit pricy, but this pension is a rare peaceful place, made and full of love, that will make you smile and happy, which has no price! We wish we could have stayed longer there and hope to come back one day! Thank you Dario, Arthur and Maria

There are no shutters, you might wake up early!

This was the highlight accommodation in over a month of travelling. It is owned and run by Dario, He is the friendliest most amazing host full of information to make his guests stay brilliant. He offers a wonderful home cooked breakfast on site. His mother in law Sonja does the cooking. His son Karlo greeted us as we arrived and settled us into our rooms and showed us around. We also ordered dinner on our second night. He requires one days notice which we gave him. I am coeliac and required food to be prepared without any gluten. He took great care and offered me options at all meals. He also offers to make picnic lunches for guests to take if required. A most wonderful stay. The property is on a farm. The entrance is behind the camping ground just of the main highway to Plitvice Lakes. I highly recommend this property.

Dario is a lovely host, he provides one of the best dinners we've ever had on a trip (marvelous cake!) . The breakfast is also a must! He also has great tips for the national park and even offers a nice lunch package! The rooms and everything else in the house is also clean and comfy. If you want to visit the national park, visit Dario!

Very tiny room. We could not being down big suitcases from our car anymore since only small suitcases will fit in the very tiny room
