We enjoyed our stay and the location was great.
Suggestions: you may want to replace your wood jambs at the front and side deck w/new composite material that won't rot.
Side deck could use some latex stain. Overall...great place!
Thanks again...Gary

If you are looking for location, this place has it all. Easy walking distance to the beach and to downtown TC and all of its attractions. Mike and Kristel have made great upgrades and keep the home fully stocked to meet all of your needs. They are also very responsive to any of issues that might arise and are quick to offer up any recommendations. We just finished a month-long stay for the second year in a row and we are definitely planning on coming back!!!

Thanks for opening your TC home to me. It was a very needed 5 weeks of relaxation and comfort in a wonderful setting. Second Street was a great location to headquarter myself to enjoy all that the Traverse City area has to offer. Location is always a key for me when traveling, close to everything but distant enough from the hub to relax and not feel like a tourist. The neighbors are great also. The home provides a number of great spots for entertaining also indoor and outdoor. From my initial interest in their home all the way through the return of my deposit, the owners are quick to respond and very friendly to deal with. Thanks again and I highly recommend this property for rental.

My family and I had a fantastic stay for two months beginning in October until just before Christmas. Mike and Kristal are great hosts, and were very responsive to the few issues that arose during our time there.
Given the length of our stay, the primary thing that stands out to us is how comfortable we were living in the home, as opposed to just staying there for a short vacation. The home is completely furnished, and the owners clearly put a lot of thought into making their guests comfortable. We were caring for our one-year-old son while we were staying there, and with a few specific baby things that we brought with us, we had everything that we needed.
Another thing that stood out to us is that the house is even nicer in person that it appears in its photos. It really came to feel like home by the end of our stay.
Finally, its location was just great. Our family had only one car while we were there, but it was never an issue because the walk into town was so short. Also, there are great places nearby, notably Frenchie’s and Bay Bread Co.
In short, a great place to stay in Traverse City.

Much of our family gathered (in shifts) to spend time at this fabulous house by the by in Traverse City. There is plenty of room for hanging out as well as sleeping and eating. You can even see a slice of the water from the kitchen! The walk to the beach is a snap and it only takes a bit longer to get downtown. There's small grocery and a bakery just down the block. Really everything is in reach by walking and many of our group took advantage of the bikes at the house. There's a wonderful deck with a grill if you're up for outside eating, but the huge round dining room table makes a terrific spot for game night. We loved it and hope to come back. (A couple of the beds weren't the best, but Kristel and Mike are planning to take care of that this month. That said, nothing took away from the great time we had.)

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at West End Retreat this past June. The house has a fantastic location on a quaint tree laden street just a short walk to the beach and downtown. It was great to walk to Burritt’s Market and the Grand Traverse Pie company and stop at an interesting little art gallery along the way. (Loved their Cherry Jalapeno Dip and all the local wine and cheese selection.) We loved walking across the street to the beach and watching the Tall Ship tack back and forth in the harbor. There’s great benches to sit on and a couple families of mallard ducks swam by-very relaxing! Also was a great place to catch a view of the Supermoon! Another favorite was the large swing in the back yard. It was such a relaxing place to sit and read.
The house was comfortable and well equipped. I especially enjoyed the access to the internet and being able to find all the information to activities and menus. The menus at the house also helped us to decide on dinner options for the large variety of available local restaurants. Our favorites were Stella’s (lunch & dinner), Jolly Pumpkin (lunch), Frenchies (lunch-fantastic, pastrami sandwiches),and Bay Bread (bread, desserts and wonderful breakfast sandwiches)that was around the corner.
All in all an awesome vacation house. We loved it and would definitely stay again.
