Very clean and beautiful - beach is very private

rooms were nice size. Restaurant was great, pool was wonderful, staff friendly
Kitchen was missing a lot of essentials and bedding seems old and we were lacking in blankets.

The property was amazing and clean and the staff was so welcoming and friendly!!!
The property had one store and I just wish it had more stores.

Loved it, only downside was the restaurant menu did not have a huge selection and often out of things… we went in off season though.

The beach club and beach was nice.
The staff other than the bellman (Dixon) were not very friendly! The little store always acted as if I was inconveniencing them by asking if they had bug spray or itch cream. They close early too. The food options on the island are ridiculously limited. one night because of a rain storm. We missed dinner at the beach club by a few minutes and ate rice, cakes and peanut butter for dinner on our honeymoon. If we weren’t an adventurous couple already, I would say for most people, staying at the red frog would’ve ruined their honeymoon. the marketing is very deceptive. Everything cost extra! If you don’t rent a golf cart, you will spend your entire trip walking through the heat around a hilly property. The golf cart that they force you to rent for $75 per day is rusty, old slow and a slap in the face. we are originally booked a jungle bungalow for four nights because we wanted the experience of staying in a bungalow, but with the amenities that were described in the listing, such as full kitchen, air conditioning, patio pool, etc. what we arrived to find, was a hot bug infested, dirty cabin in the middle of nowhere. the room we booked was not the room we got as there were two extra laughs as if an entire family were staying there. I didn’t complain because I figured they gave us a bigger one than we asked for however, the little air conditioning units don’t come close to cooling the cabin. if we wanted to feel cool, we had to get in the shower and then jump out and stand under the AC unit that is mounted in the corner of the little kitchen. our first night in the jungle bungalow, was spent swatting mosquitoes and itching our bug bites. (For which there is no itch cream at the store to help with.) after being up all night wondering how I ended up in Panama in a hellish jungle cabin ruining our honeymoon. First thing in the morning I used the WhatsApp to ask front desk if there was snorkel equipment available for use/rent. She said no.

We spent 6 lovely nights at Red Frog Beach Resort and thoroughly enjoyed it! We were lucky enough to be upgraded from a lodge to a villa, because of construction work, thank you so much for that. It was very spacious and had an amazing view.
Bastimentos is a gorgeous island with beautiful nature and beaches. We saw monkeys, sloths, iguanas, the tiny red frogs and lots of birds (including parrots!). The jungle is incredible, huge trees and various plants.
The staff was very friendly and their included transport with golf cart worked very well. It’s a very big resort, so it’s great to have that option. They have a little shop at the reception, which we found very useful. The massage at their spa was also very good.
Our freezer was stacked with ice which is a great detail in my opinion. The kitchen was also equipped with dish soap etc, and also laundry detergent for the washing machine.
If you want to enjoy Bocas Town nightlife daily it might not be ideal for you, as boat rides at night get expensive. We were there for nature and quietness and usually had dinner at the beautiful villa.
For lunch we had nice food at the beach at Palmar and Nachyo Momma or during a trip.
The biggest minus is definitely the beach club. A big reason for us staying there was the fact that they have their own beach club with sun beds and umbrellas, however the sun beds were in such bad shape I would be ashamed of it if I was the owner or manager. The sand is more comfortable than those work through beds. It’s so cheap to replace them and get some comfortable new ones. Also the menu lacks vegetarian options, which is why we never ate there. We had iced coffee once, however it was really not good.
And for the original price of the villa some things could be improved a little bit. The pots and pans were very old, only one cutting board, no proper curtains in the bed rooms. Also water dispensers would be a good idea. The tanks wouldn’t have to be for free, but it would save on plastic bottles and no need to carry heavy water bottles. But these are no deal breakers.

Villa was spacious with fabulous amenities and marvelous view. What one would expect from a resort. Great to relax after the beach on the deck listening and watching the birds sing.
Beds were a little hard for my taste.

The Red Frog Beach Resort exceeded our expectations. The resort is a beautiful tropical paradise. Our beach front room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. The pool was so inviting and the view was amazing. The restaurant was great and the food very tasty. But what made this Resort rate 10 or above was the friendly staff that went above their normal duties to make our stay a very memorable experience. We highly recommend The Red Frog Beach Resort.
Loved everything

The wildlife, the views, the tropical setting, the beaches.
The distances from the unit to the facilities. Unit pool was freezing and always in the shade.

Location, swimming pool and beach access is great
Check-in experience is poor. They are understaffed at the reception for cost-cutting purposes. If you end up with others at the same time for checking in then you are doomed. We arrived 40 minutes before check in time. They too another 20 mins to process us. Paid, did docs and then told us to wait but were not clear that the room was not ready. Wasted our time before telling us that. The room was not ready until later in the evening. At check out they did not even offer us a late check out to compensate. The restaurant staff is really nice but really understaffed. The quality of the rooms and services are way overpriced for what they have to offer.

The view of villa 30 is beautiful.
You really need your own transportation, golf cart or electric bike. Walks to beach and Palmar restaurant are steep and all facilities far away.
One bedroom has no airco or fan. 2 sunbeds for an expensive villa for 6 is really poor.
Restaurant The Point is closed, we went to Palmar hotel a lot, they have a nice beach with good facilites. Red Frog Resort is lacking this.

The staff here were amazing. Friendly and helpful. Our kids wanted to see sloths and one of the maintenance workers for the property walked with them for an hour showing them where he knew the sloths lived without us even asking.
The property is beautiful. Right in the middle of the rainforest. we had a 3 bedroom Villa and the view from the Villa was gorgeous. Lush and green, flowers with a view of the sea. The Villa was huge. Each bedroom was large and the kitchen was well stocked. It had a huge terrace outside that overlooked the rainforest. And it’s own private pool.
Red frog beach is right on the property and is a beautiful beach.
Keep in mind this property is huge and it isn’t easy to get around just by walking. apparently you can rent golf carts but we were not told that and they were all rented out when we got there. Thankfully the staff will shuttle you around when you need to go anywhere but it would be easier to just have your own cart and go when you need to.
There aren’t a lot of food options nearby. The restaurant on-site is just ok. we ate there one night. the restaurant at the property next door is very good. Palmar beach lodge. otherwise to go into Bocas town or another restaurant you have to take a water taxi which is expensive. they charge $10 per person one way so it cost us $80 to go for dinner for a 15 min ride. I never figured out how the water taxis worked because any time the property arranged it, it was expensive. but I know from Bocas town they are inexpensive.
the shower handle in the master bathroom was loose and came off. a few things in the Villa could use some repair.

It was beautiful!
Walking between our room and the beach etc was strenuous. You really need a golf cart though the staff pick you up when you call which is nice.
4.5
the location, very nice staff, beautiful nature and wildlife
starving dogs at some of the beaches
4.0
location. very secluded beach
Not many restaurants to choose from, road to villa was very rough, and round trip transportation from airport was too expensive compared to the local rates.
4.5
The staff was incredibly helpful and the property well kept. We were upgraded to a villa and had a beautiful pool and beachfront. we even saw monkeys in the “backyard”, and a sloth! it was convenient to have dining on the property, since getting around by water taxi is a bit of a chore. The vegetarian/vegan options were limited but they did a nice job accommodating the menu and I never went hungry, I did fall in love with the garden toast for breakfast… had it everyday!
No water stations, and the water wasn’t drinkable. As someone who never uses single use water bottles it really bothered me that that was our only option. We ended up buying 5Liter water bottles in bocas town and refilling in our room. Also the property is huge and they have limited golf carts for rent. We had to call someone to pick us up every time we wanted to go somewhere we couldn’t walk. They were quick, but not as convenient as having our own,

First off we had some a/c issues but the staff upgraded us to a ridiculously nice condo with an ocean view. They also gave us free massages. We finished our experience on such a high note. Very pleased and impressed by everyone we encountered on our visit. I can’t recommend staying here enough. The massages were the best we have ever had anywhere. Thank you everyone that assisted us from the dock to the condo. David and Kim
that we didn’t own a condo there already

The breakfast menu had many great options. We had an ocean front view that was beautiful and a pool that was shared between 4 adjoined units. We were the only couple in that unit so we had the beach and the pool all to ourselves. The staff were extremely helpful in organizing water taxis to Bocas town, and arranging transport back to the airport when we came back to Panama City.
We were on site for 3 days and our room wasn't cleaned. There is a plaque to put on your bed if you want fresh towels or the bed made. I did not use the plaque, but the floor wasn't swept, the trash wasn't emptied and we had used the coffee provided and it wasn't replaced for the next morning.
4.5
Ideal place if you go with a large family group, beautiful, big and scenic views. I stayed with a big family group at one of the villas they're perfect for family time.
They charged my card 3 times the full amount by mistake and took them a couple of days to fix it (this is a major issue taking someones money (significant amount) by mistake and not returning it inmediately). This should have been fixed since it was notified even before our stay it was a big hold of our money because of this mistake. If I was the hotel manager I would have given some kind of compensation even a free cocktail or something. but nothing was offered. Apart from that the staff was helpful and friendly and the stay was perfect.
