We had multigenerational family group and this was a perfect property and location.

The property is nice in a great location. There was an issue with the wifi not functioning when we arrived but the management company took care of it in a timely manner. Recommend this property and will probably stay here again.

You are required to download an app to get simple information for the property. A single email would have sufficed. Check-in: 5:00 PM check in sucks out loud. When we did get the code, two of the three doors did not function. One was deadbolted from the inside and the other completely inoperable. It took us some time to locate the third door by the parking spot to finally gain access. We alerted the management company the day of check in, and they did not send anyone until we called again two days later. Overall, check in was a cluster. The property was as described, clean but minimally equipped. NO BEACH TOWELS - the VBRO listing says towels are included, only to get a last minute text to bring your own! The property includes the bare minimum of bathroom towels for the number of people the beds accommodate - no service for our almost week long stay. The bathrooms have no mats, so you are burning towels just to have something to step on out of the shower. For the price and length of stay, ONE roll of paper towels, a few trash bags and only two rolls of low-rent toilet paper per restroom were inadequate. Bottom line, we didn't expect to spend a few hours of our vaca getting basic supplies for us and our guests. I really wish I could rate our stay higher, I do, the location and property were perfect for our mission. The terrible check in, lack of basic supplies, and count down texts for the early check out made us wish we chose differently. I recommend the property owner reassess the management company and amenities provided to your high-valued guests. I wish I could say for the property, we will be back, but we will not. Looking at different options for next year.

My family has been doing Destin/Seaside for 20+ years and this is our second unit rented at Watercolors Beachside. By far and away the worst experience in all our vacation rentals. We choose to rent these Beachside units for convenience to the beach and the amenities they provide. We pay for a “home away from home.” We arrived and the condo was as expected, spacious with a great location. We unloaded our groceries from Costco (stopped on way into Florida) and Publix from our coolers to the refrigerator. The following morning we realized the freezer and refrigerator were not cold at all and so we rushed to save what we could and placed everything back in the coolers and rushed to get ice. Threw out what was wasted. Contacted Royal Destinations who sent a repair guy out. He said he fixed it and for us to load our cold items back in the refrigerator so we did the shuffle again. Luckily, we checked the refrigerator prior to going to bed (several hours later) and could tell it was still broken so we pulled everything back out and rushed to get more ice (another shuffle). Maintenance came out the following afternoon and put a temporary (joke was on us) small refrigerator in the dining room and measured for a new refrigerator which they said they would deliver the following day. Nothing the following day - new refrigerator or communication. The following day I called them to find out we would be getting a new refrigerator on Friday evening (our last day). They arrived during our Friday dinner to install, oblivious to the inconvenience they were causing. Was offered a few hundred dollars (for the inconvenience of the week) off of a rental we’ll over 10K if I would not write a negative review. Keep the money. I would rather let someone else know what to expect if something goes wrong, and that is NO sense of urgency to correct the issue. Lowe’s, Best Buy, and Home Depot ALL had refrigerators available immediately but we didn’t have one all week? Other issues:1.) Incorrect Wi-if information given by Royal Destinations. 2.) Front stove burner only partially lights. 3.) 1 potholder for the entire unit to cook with. 4.) Son has 3 bug bites we had to take him to the Dr. for when we returned home. Dr. has diagnosed Bed Bugs. Contacted Royal Destinations and waiting for a response to their investigation. Based on our weeks stay and lack of communication and lack of action to resolve our issues, I do not expect any follow up.

The place was great. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is due to construction around the property and club house that I feel like I should have been made aware of. Once construction is done I would for sure stay again.

My only slightly negative comment, which the owners cannot help, is that you cannot see the beach because of the dunes. You’re view is completely blocked. My other note is that the elevator for the wheelchair is outside, so to get from the downstairs bedroom to the upstairs living space in a wheelchair, you have to go outside and come through the garage. It worked fine but when we arrived I couldn’t find the elevator in the unit and we panicked before discovering the community elevator outside.

First the location is ideal, especially with small kids getting all the gear to the beach..access was so simple and then the private pool was so great to avoid the watercolor crowds. The inside of the property was very spacious and beautiful. We kept commenting on the couches and how everyone was able to have a seat, recline, cup holders....we all want this for our own home. A few minor maintenance issues that Royal Destination addressed. Bailey was also super great in booking and sent great communication. We would book this again in a heartbeat and we have been booking in Watercolor for 11 years. This was by far the most convenient property and even though not a stand alone house still was spacious for multiple families and kids!!!
