Cleanliness, bad heating and mold on walls

Really nice apartment (they gave me a free upgrade to a bigger one) in a super convenient location close to the port, the castle and the main street with all the restaurants. Comfortable beds, fully equipped kitchen, great shower. This place would be especially suited for a family or friends sharing the apartment. Communication with the owner was easy.

The only thing I really liked about this accommodation was the location - ideal for the ferry to Morocco.

Instructions in garbled English on how to check in. Conflicting messages about the deposit charged: 100€ on arrival according to the information on the website/app, 50€ according to a message, 20€ actually charged. Then I had to ask twice before I finally got the deposit back almost two weeks after my stay. Deposit and room were charged to my card before arrival, although the information said 'no prepayment needed'. And why charge a deposit to a credit card and refund to a bank account? The room itself was old and run down and not exactly as in the description. Dining area? There were some plates and cups etc in a cupboard but it was hardly a dining area and washing dishes would have been a challenge in the tiny bathroom wash basin. There was no balcony, just a window with a view over the inner courtyard. The bath mat was so old it was grey rather than white. The wi-fi password was wrong, given in capital letters when it should be lower case. Overall, it reminded me of times long gone by in Spain, when it was 'take it or leave it and make do'.

There is slight stench of dampness. Easy to access. I would advise the hosts where is best for parking free/paid. We had a local guide us. You can park by the port (behind Castillo wall) for free.

It was clean and in a very good location

There was no signal and a very poorly working WiFi. They didn't speak any English and the communication was hard because they kept wanting to talk on the phone instead of texting when I told them I couldn't talk because I was sick and because of the signal.

Easy access to the main shopping, bars and restaurants.
