Was very comfortable, Central to Fraser Island hot spots. Hosts were very helpful

This was our second stay at the Happy House and again had everything we needed, beds, hot showers & great location. It’s by no means a 5 star resort, but was perfect for our large family group of 7 adults and 6 children. The house is family friendly with a fenced yard and huge entertainment deck with a TV. The rooms are primarily made of bunk beds, but again, worked well for us. There is onsite caretakers in a seperate building, they are lovely and very accommodating. We will definitely be back. Thanks for having us!

This spot was great for the get away that we needed. The kids had plenty of grass to run around in and the deck really made the whole experience great. The onsite owners were very helpful and even checked in from time to time, gave helpful hints about the island, the house and things to visit and do to make sure that our group enjoyed themselves.

The Happy House was awesome. The on-site hosts, Rod and Leah, were awesome. Our group consisted of three families (6 adults and 7 kids), and nothing was a bother. The house is a not five star luxury, more a beach shack but 100% practical and functional for what we needed. Made great use of the bbq on the deck and the pizza oven. Can’t comment on the oven inside because we didn’t use it. We were worried about fridge space but with the overflow freezer it wasn’t a problem. We took eskies for drinks but there is also a large esky there already. Rod and Leah were very accommodating, offering knowledge and wisdom for our daily adventures and did what they could to ensure we had a great stay, without being obstrusive. Booking was easy, if you have any questions ask before you go and Leah will respond. We will be back!

Fun and relaxing!

We just came home after 7 days staying at The Happy House. There was 6 adults and 2 kids (2 and 7). Great communication from Leah throughout the booking process and closer to our arrival. Leah’s Happy House info book was very clear and informative with instructions and tips. After long days exploring everyone couldn’t wait to get back and sit on the deck enjoying the last of the day with the cool breezes. The house had everything we needed to enjoy our week long stay. It was interesting how we adapted to being off grid. Was a great experience for our family. We look forward to being able to stay there again. Thanks Leah and Rod for your hospitality.

Great deck so good we didnt spend any time eating or watching tv inside. There were 5 adults (singles) in the house, plus another 4 staying next door that joined us for meals and entertaining. Fire was used every night and was great to sit around. Caught tailor for fish tacos 2 nights, enjoyed the happy valley cafe/ pub as well. Overall enjoyed our stay. A previous guest didnt leave a good review; they were so wrong. We enjoyed our entire stay here and would definitely return

We stayed in the happy house for 7 days. When we got to the property the owners where there to greet us, they informed us that usually they stay in the shed next to the house on the property but they had other plans and would only be staying for a night before they head out. I think if the owner is staying in the shed on the property this should be mentioned in the advertisement. When we arrived the house we noticed the house was in need of a PROFESSIONAL DEEP CLEAN. We found sand all over the bed, used ear buds under the beds and old lollies in the couches. Most of the outdoor furniture was moist. Especially the suede couches on the patio that are not meant to be outside. There were a lot of issues with the property that we found extremely UNSAFE particularly for a home advertised for young families. There was an unsecured window (no glass or barricade) from one room to the other room covered by a curtain with a bunk bed pushed against it. Smoke alarms without batteries in them which is ILLEGAL in QLD. This has been the very first stayz accommodation that there was an expectation to clean the entire property. It was over 3 k for our stay and spent over 2 hours on the last day tidying the place up and left it better than what it was when we had arrived. The owners arrived 2 days after claiming that their property had been “damaged & full of mold” and charged 5OO as a cleaning fee which is beyond ridiculous. I hope the 5OO that you over charged us can go towards making improvements on the house so that future family’s can live in a SAFE home during their stay and not a death trap. The owners expect you to manually refill the water tank at specific times throughout the day in order to be able to use the hose to wash off your car which proved to be very difficult. Also the pizza oven did not work and is a dodgy home job with cracks throughout that should not be on the advertisement and a selling point of the home. I think we got 1 good pizza (we tried multiple times to get it working) and it’s extremely unsafe to use. I normally don’t leave reviews but I highly DO NOT RECOMMEND this property. You will more than likely be charged $500 for a a cleaning fee with no receipts of the cleaning costs or photographs of the alleged damage to the property. Save your money and stay in a better place.

The happy house was brilliant we had 3 couples and 3 kids 18mths to 9yr old with 3 cars there is so much room for everyone. The deck is huge and great for relaxing after a huge day exploring, Leah was awesome so easy to contact and answer and questions we didn’t have a single problem her book with all instructions makes it super easy. Fire pit and pizza oven were a huge hit also. Can’t wait to go back the happy house is all our new happy place. Pizza oven was a hit, we used it twice in a week and bbq on the deck was perfect for big breakkies and dinners including freshly caught dart 🎣. You are limited for what you can plug in to the house and you need to remember to refill watertank from time to time- too easy. Leah was a great host, the house was In a great location and the house was very spacious and had plenty of beds. The deck was amazing too to spend evenings. Loved our stay at the Happy House.

Perfect beach house! This is no modern home but we were comfortable and relaxed! Loved our time on Fraser!

I was impressed how the house layout is it was perfect for family and kids to play and safe nice large open front deck fits all the family to sit and nice breeze. Will definitely recommend this place and will come again.

We love staying at Happy House, it’s our 3rd time returning and we will be back again! We have a couple of families that come together, there’s plenty of room for everyone and it never feels crowded. Leah is so easy to communicate with and always so helpful. Highly recommend it if you are after hassle free holiday!!
