living area too small, small kitchen and not well equipped The garden is small and the access to property is very difficult The surrounding areas to the house smelled of animal farms due to a pig farm near by. Could not enjoy sitting in the garden

Really bad roads to get to location, small property (in total 500 square meters together with the land), the constant strong smell of pig poop. Only Vodafone signal covering the area. Too many messages around the house (do this, do not do this), controlling your actions, one of the messages being to please take the garbage with you when you leave.

It is very cosy and romantic. The house has been carefully restored. The view is nice and it is an excellent place if you want to get away

The road leading to the property is horrible. Expect 1,5 h drive on a dirt road, you need a certain type of car for this. There are one million signs telling you not to do things in the house “do not wash shoes in sink”, “ do not drink the water”, i think it takes away from the experience.

This charming manor is one of a kind. If experiencing a living proof of history and completely disconnecting from the city chaos is what you are after, then you are in the right place. This location is stuck in time. The owners (as well as the local host) ensured we had everything we needed and communication was great at all times. The property has everything one might need. On cold days/nights, you should be ready to light up the fireplace on your own. For us personally, this experience was a reminder of childhood, of grandparents, of connection to our ancestry, of why it is important to preserve heritage and of the stark contrast between urban and rural. Bonus points for running into a Carpathian deer right by the roadside :) I recommend this place from the bottom of my heart and hope to return one day.

If you understand prior to booking that this location is REMOTE and access can be harder due to lack of proper roads for the better part of the last 25 km, then there is nothing not to like about it! I would trade the city without hesitation and at any time for this jewel stuck in history.

Everything else

The last 15-20 km are very poor, and the last 1 km is almost for 4*4 only. Would recommend only for SUVs

The property is as expected: you can hear the birds singinging and the water from the stream in front of the house. It is a genuine Romanian house in the middle of the nature having all the appliances available to spend some days far away from the crowded areas. The access road is a little difficult (hope authorities will do something sion), but if you don’t have a proper car, you can park it and walk few minutes to the location. I have the same feeling of coziness at Prince Charles property in Romania in Valea Zalanului.
