We absolutely loved our stay at the Woodbine Villa! The house is conveniently located between Cruz Bay and Coral Bay and close to several beaches. We rented a jeep so the drive up to the house was not a problem at all. The house was stocked with everything that we needed and the views were incredible. Emily did an excellent job of communicating with us! I would definitely recommend staying at this home!

Woodbine was the perfect villa for our family of 4 (2 kids, 6&4). We loved being all on one level and the constant cool breeze at Woodbine. Drive to the beaches was easy as was to Coral bay. Cruz a bit further but still easy. Emily was a great communicator and everything was smooth. No complaints at all and would definitely stay here again!

As many have mentioned, the property looks better in person. A little hiccup to start as both showers had no heat. That was fixed the very next day and all was well. Emily was available from start to finish. The drive is harrowing as there is no paved road leading to the villa, so one's insides are bouncing around for about a 1/4 of a mile. I'd still come back next year. Really great week.

Amazing! Check-in was easy. Emily answered our questions very quickly and was so kind. The photos don’t do the view justice. We woke up to see the stunning sunrise every morning! Kitchen was well equipped…perhaps could use a new coffee maker if I were to make a small critique. Exterior of the house was charming with nicely done landscaping. Interior clean and comfy beds. Pool was lovely for our two young girls. Cross breezes with the screen doors were amazing. Easy ride to all the North Shore beaches. Note the final road to the rental is insanely bumpy (and we are from the mountains) but it’s a short couple minutes. Definitely hit Johnny Lime in Coral Bay. Loved it here. Will be back.

All communications with the property manager were prompt and helpful. The property is even nicer than the pictures in the listing. The views of Coral Bay and North Shore beaches were amazing.! The house had everything we needed. It was so helpful to have many of the basics in the house such as dishwashing liquid, dishwasher detergent, shampoo, lotion, sunscreen.

The pictures online do not do justice to this gorgeous property! Very clean, well stocked and beautifully decorated! Had that familiar, intoxicating smell of a luxury island resort hotel. We loved our stay at Woodbine Villa. Emily was wonderful to work with, so helpful and kind with any questions we had. Our family loved relaxing in the pool at the end of a beach day and it was nice to pack super light and be able to do laundry. We enjoyed cooking a few nights and the kitchen had everything you could ever need. We laughed every drive up and down the hill. St. John blew our minds and we fell quickly in love with the island, the people and this home. Would recommend and would stay here again in a heartbeat. The location was perfect. We loved being away from the busyness of Cruz Bay and being centrally located to all the best beaches. If we are able to return to ST John, this will be our place. And using Landlubber Logistics to stock the food and drinks before our arrival was money well spent-priceless the time that saved us. If you’re on the fence, don’t hesitate! Woodbine is the place ❤️

What an amazing vila! Everything was top notch, villa, patio, pool and location. Even better than on pictures, just breath taking from the moment we arrived. Emily was super nice and helpful. We hope to come back soon!

I've been to St John several times and this was the best in all respects. It was actually more like house-sitting than a rental. Everything you could need is there, including coolers & ice packs, beach chairs & umbrella/canopy, sunscreen, speaker, laundry detergent, spices, chip clips, grapefruit spoons - any random thing we wanted was there. The central location was perfect - it overlooks both Coral Bay and Francis Bay and is a 5 minute (gorgeous) drive down to Maho Bay. There was easy access to both Cruz Bay / north shore beaches and Coral Bay / south shore beaches. It's a private mountain-top retreat and you can see by the pictures how nice and relaxing it is after a long day of island adventures. The communication was concierge level - simply above and beyond. She provided timely and valuable information for every stage of the trip from planning & booking to travel requirements to ferry schedules, Jeep & snorkel gear rental. Every question was answered completely and helpful recommendations were offered. The video of the drive from Columbo's to the house was very helpful. We were so pleasantly surprised by the check-out process and that helped to ease the pain of our trip ending. Book this place...you won't regret it.

Spacious bedrooms and bathrooms, brand new kitchen amenities, and amazing outdoor patio area made this property perfect for families or friend groups. This was a stunningly beautiful villa, exactly as described in all the rave reviews. Even more beautiful than depicted in the photos. The manager was phenomenal - she went out of her way to help us, both with settling into the villa and with timely and insightful advice on trip logistics. We had a wonderful time and hope to return.

The Woodbine Villa was spectacular! We had the best time and got very comfortable with the drive up Mamey Peak Road! Make sure you have 4 wheel drive! Emily's video was very helpful. Thank you Emily for being so responsive to my questions prior to our stay and when we arrived! Anthony went the extra mile to bring some fresh lightbulbs our first night! The house is so well-appointed and clean with comfortable seating areas and beds and plenty of beach towels and amenities. The pool was refreshing and cool, and we loved taking dips at the start and/or end of each day. STJ is a gem and we loved exploring different beach spots and restaurants each day, but the house and the views from Woodbine made all the difference!

Woodbine is a wonderful base for a visit on St John. Convenient to the North Shore beaches, this home is spacious and accommodated our family of 5 well. The property manager was proactive, helpful and easily contactable. The kitchen is well stocked- one of the best for all the rentals we have stayed in. The beds were very comfortable and the property was extremely clean. Highly recommend a stay at Woodbine.

This is as close to heaven in a VRBO property as you will find! Home is incredibly well maintained and appointed. EVERYTHING you could need in the kitchen, comfy beds, quiet location, responsive property manager, and fabulous location! If you are looking for a quiet, tranquil, home away from home - RENT this house! Any location on STJ is going to be an adventure to reach, make sure you have a Jeep (AquaBlue Rentals) and check out coffee and breakfast at Cruz Bay Landing from day 1. Best coffee on the island. Anticipate spending a ton on food, but well worth the cost for the location. We cooked in a lot so unable to recommend many restaurants. Child with a food allergy and many restaurants are small and unable to accommodate. Don’t debate just book this spot!

Our stay at Woodbine Villa was amazing. This home has everything you think you might need and so much more. Also, Emily was a delight to communicate with. She answered all of our pre-arrival questions, offered us a ton of information- including pre-arrival videos, and even made sure to leave some lights on when our travel day fell apart and we arrived on island after dark. The trip up Mamey Peak is quite the journey for sure. Luckily, Emily sent us a video beforehand so we knew what we were in for! Especially in the dark. You will definitely need four-wheel drive for this one. But when you get to the house…. The views are stunning. We found it to be breezy and cool even on the hottest of days, but having AC in the bedrooms was definitely a plus. We loved how quiet it was too. Hearing the “peepers” after dark was probably our favorite thing. So, in summary… if you’re thinking about staying at Woodbine Villa, you should. You won’t be disappointed.

The photos undersell the home. It was even more wonderful than the photos. Brand new appliances. No clutter. Comfy beds. Incredible views. Easy access to the best beaches. Incredible communication from property manager, Emily. The coast guard was considering closing the port due to a storm, and Emily reached out to me to form a "plan B" ... all proactively. Thoughtful, helpful, gracious. Fortunately the ports weren't closed. And again, the house was great.

I’ve stayed all over the island of St John and found this area to be a hidden surprise. Bring on the top of a mountain it has some unusual views of the island. It had very nice garden elements and a comfy hammock in the shade. It has a quiet tucked away feel. The land is relatively flat around the house with paths and grassy areas. Very comfortable for guests who have smaller children. The house is very comfortable with an open plan. The kitchen is well appointed with new appliances that work. It may seem a strange comment but this can be an issue sometimes. I think very reasonable for the price point. I would definitely recommend this home to stay.

This is quite possibly the nicest VRBO we have been to in the last 10 years. The house exceeded expectations, clean, beautiful, and the views cannot be beaten. Everyone in our group loved the place and setting. Some might complain about the drive off the main road but honestly it was a bit fun, get a jeep, it also reduces any unwanted traffic. The rooms, decor, and setting are out of this world. Emily was outstanding and her videos and answering any questions was spot on the best communication we have had at any VRBO location, her advice was spot on. The USVI Covid protocol was easy and Emily made sure we knew what was needed, the links, the timing, everything. This location is an 11/10 in our books.

Such a beautiful and nice stay. The pool is bigger that it appears in the photo, nice surprise! The views are so beautiful. The host was very nice and communicative. Everything was perfect, definitely recommend.

We had a wonderful time and enjoyed our stay immensely. Privacy and beautiful views. (Wish the pool was heated; the winds keep it very cool). Breezes all day keep the property and house very are comfortable. The road up to the house is a bit of a bumpy ride (pretty sure I lost a kidney on the way one day😉)

We had such a wonderful week at Woodbine Villa. The views are incredible, and the villa is possibly the best equipped rental house we have ever stayed in -- there were lots of kitchen supplies that came in handy, including tupperware with lids, foils and wraps, and coolers and ice packs. Beds were comfortable, and the open living space suited our family well. We loved coming back to the deck and pool each day and were greeted with a wonderful sunrise each morning. We are so grateful to have spent our vacation week here!

The villa was perfect. It had all that we needed and then some. The road to Woodbine didn’t bother us at all. We found it kinda fun. Great place. I hope that it’s still available for a future trip.

The house was better than the pictures. We loved the privacy, accommodations of the home, and the views. We felt like we had the entire mountain “Mamey Peak” to ourselves. We loved 4 wheeling up the road to get there. Emily, the property manager was awesome too. She responded to any question or need immediately. She recommended Amalie car rental to use in St Thomas and we took our Jeep we rented from them at the airport on the Ferry to St John. It was an awesome recommendation. We got a spotless brand new Jeep and concierge service. The last time we came to the Islands we waited for an hour for AVIS. Amalie, had a sign with our name as we got off the plane and took us to our Jeep. The beaches that we visited were incredible too. We rented a Jeep and beach hopped daily. Trunk Bay and Hawksnest had the best snorkeling on this trip. The only downside of where we stayed was the restaurant scene (if you want that). Covid has definitely damaged these small business owners that own local restaurants. Coral Bay is normally a more sleepy section of St John anyway, but the time of year we visited and Covid crimped the scene in Coral Bay. There were only two restaurants open in Coral Bay on this trip. We ventured to Cruz twice, once for a late lunch and the other for an early dinner. Candidly, getting groceries in Cruz bay and staying at this house would have suited us better anyway. Next time, we’ll plan on doing that. There are two grocery stores in Coral Bay, but the Cruz Bay grocery stores are superior with great produce, seafood, and meat. All in all, a great stay! We’ll be back. Hopefully next time Covid is eradicated and the businesses will be thriving on the Island.

The house is incredibly well appointed and a great place for families. Although our daughter is 18 there were many touches for families with smaller children including sand pails and children's games. Emily was really great to work with. The tropical storm went through the island while we were there and she kept us abreast of the situation and reminded us of supplies that we may need if the power went out. Incidentally, we got a full day of high wind and rain and the power never went out. Emily and her team came and removed all items from the deck that may become dangerous. We only had one day left after the storm but it did mean that when the storm passed we were left without any lounge chairs. The house is peaceful and isolated, it's situated in such a way that it feels like you are the only house on the mountain. As other reviewers had mentioned the drive up to the house is terrible but after the first time we couldn't help but laugh every time we went up it. I really cannot say enough on how well appointed this house is. Every kitchen item you may possibly need is there. Book this house you won't be dissappointed.

The many attributes of Woodbine Villa have already been covered by other reviewers, so we can only echo what’s already been said. This was a very spacious house for our party of four. There are two nice-sized bedrooms on the main floor. (There’s also a private one-bedroom apartment on the lower level which we didn’t use so can’t comment on.). The two bathrooms are large, spotless, well-maintained, and well-ventilated. The common area of the house is large, open, airy, with soaring cathedral ceilings which add to the feeling of spaciousness. Everything in the house is cosmetically and functionally in top-notch shape. I think the house must have had a lot of repair work after the big storms a couple of years ago, with the result that the house shows and lives like a brand new home. As others have noted, the views from the house are spectacular, regardless of which direction you look. It’s just a wonderful, wonderful place to stay. However, no place is perfect, and there are a few minor negatives to mention. A couple of these points are common to many villas on St. John but are worth thinking about if you’re planning a trip, such as: 1). You have to rent a car, so that’s an extra expense compared to staying in a place in Cruz Bay where you can walk to everything in town. But the flip side of that is that the car gives you freedom to explore more of the island. This was our fifth visit to St. John but this was the first time we didn’t stay in or near Cruz Bay. We really explored the east end of St. John on this trip and found that we really liked it! But for this house, you really do need a 4 wheel drive vehicle with lots of ground clearance because- 2). The road going up to this house is really terrible. Actually by St. John standards it’s your basic non- paved road, but it’s steep and very bumpy. Our first trip up was a little scary. But you quickly get used to it, and by our second day the road was just something we kind of laughed about. 3) The only minor complaint we have about the house itself had to do with the showers. The water stream from the showers was pretty anemic. In the master bath especially, the shower flow was so little it was actually hard to get wet all over. Also it takes a really long time for the water to get warm. But these “gripes” are trivial. We’d rent this house again in a minute! It’s a beautiful, comfortable, well-maintained villa, and Emily and Anthony were a pleasure to work with.
