This was my first time renting house and not a hotel. This place was so much better than a hotel. The grounds were secluded and beautiful. There was a breeze at all times which made relaxing out side so pleasant. Plenty of space for the dogs to run and enjoy the outdoors. We swam out in the lake right off the property every day. The water was perfect. I had a couple of questions and was able to reach Tracy right away and she answered my questions. The house is a perfect retreat from city life. Other than groceries they had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were so cute! We will be back next year!

I visited this property for Memorial Day weekend with friends and two dogs. I've been to many rented property for long holidays but this property is the best cleanest. I was surprised how clean kitchen was with all dishes, bathrooms, bedrooms... all area was so clean. Huge yard, private, walking distance to lake. We enjoyed swimming in the lake and relax in the porch. My two dogs had so much fun swimming, walking all day, finally at night, snoring loud when they're asleep. We put chairs, canopy, snacks in the wagon and roll down to water. So I recommend to bring a wagon & canopy if you're going to swim in the lake. There are many rocks near the water so definitely bring water shoes. I recommend this place and will return in the future.

This was our second time to stay at Circle J Ranch, and it was just as nice as we remembered. A very relaxing place to spend a long weekend, away from the noise and fast pace of our usual daily life. The house/linens/kitchen supplies were all very clean. We spent an afternoon at the nearby Flat Creek Winery - enjoying excellent pizza, wine and music under the pavilion. Highly recommend it as a spot to visit. Looking forward to a third stay next year.

My husband and I needed a weekend getaway and this is exactly what we needed. We brought our dogs ,they obviously had a great time. The house was perfect and comfortable.

Great place to stay with the family. Joy and Tracy are great people, and they keep the house/cabin very clean and beautiful. The house has everything you will need for a wonderful stay, and the landscape is surrounded by big trees. The lake is at walking distance from the house. We strongly recommend this place and will definitely be back in the near future.

A few things to be aware of that may or may not impact one's stay depending on what you are looking for are: the fireplace is a "non working" fireplace so really there is no fireplace; contrary to what the picture of the property shows there is no propane grill, only a small charcoal grill so be sure to bring charcoal, grill screens, etc.,; and the rope on the hammock is decaying so it may not be very usable.

Quiet, relaxing property with a beautiful view of the lake. The house is cozy and has all the pots and pans you need to cook. Lots of room for dogs to run around outside without the worry of busy roads nearby. I have stayed here with my wife on two occasions and we will be back again. Highly recommend.

We enjoyed our stay here immensely! What a beautiful part of our state of Texas, and I love the history of the Lakehouse and the family behind it! Nice quiet retreat with a view of the lake and all the local wildlife!

The house was well stocked and we had plenty of room to hang out and play, even on rainy days.

The house is so beautiful and the property was a nice, serene place to be. We enjoyed being able to walk to the water, sit on the front porch in the evenings, and the dogs got to run around and play. It was the perfect trip for us to getaway from the city and enjoy time outdoors. The hosts were very good at communicating with us and left us clear instructions on how to get there. They made the place feel like home.

The lake was great for swimming, and we were also able to drive out to a few lakeside attractions while we were there. The cabin was very clean and well kept. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for some peace, quiet, and beautiful surroundings. I do echo previous recommendations for bringing water shoes (we bought some on the way over and ended up using them everyday). Owners were very quick in responding to any questions. Our friend group had a great time staying at this property! Great location with the lake right down the hill. There’s also a winery nearby. Easy communication with the property manager. Will definitely be back!
