This place is absolutely stunning - located on a hill, so you have beautiful view on the surroundings. The house is perfect - built in stone and wood, cozy and peaceful. The host - Mr Patrick is so kind and helpful! I hope we will can back soon. Seriously, this is top 5 places I have every been.

Clean nice rooms wit a beautiful view over the valley.

Ruined summer holiday. The Chamonix Valley is not ready for canicule. Everything is in the sun, a pleasant thing for low temperatures. Breakfast with no intimacy. You stay at a table outside, in the sun with other guests at the same table with you. They speak loud and in other languages. Hard to discuss with your partner. Poor breakfast, only bread, butter, jam. You also get a basket with one croissant and one pain au chocolat. So you need to split the croissant with your partner. In August it was canicule in Chamonix Valley and no rock climbing or aplinism activities could be done due to high temperatures. We decided to shorten our stay, unfortunately the chalet policy is very strict and we couldn't get a refund for the case we didn't enjoy our stay. We ended up paying 7 nights for 2 ruined vacation days.

The chalet is a 5-star contemporary accommodation. It has a very unique private location with breathtaking views. Breakfast was fantastic. Owners of the property are very nice people. We wish we could stay longer there.

We loved our stay at this beautiful property. The hosts, Patrick and Christine, are so welcoming and helpful, The room and bathroom are spacious and well designed with a very comfortable bed and pillows. The view is amazing! We particularly enjoyed breakfast on the terrace, Patrick makes an excellent fresh fruit juice. The home is well situated for exploring the mountains and Patrick was very helpful with advice and information on local walks and activities. It is best to have a car when staying here as the walk from Les Houches is several kilometres uphill. It is lovely to stay in such peaceful surroundings yet easy to get to Chamonix and the mountains.

Absolutely superb! Patrick and Christine were perfect hosts and made us feel so welcome in their home. Stunning views from our very comfortable and modern room on the ground floor! Patrick supplied us with a beautiful breakfast each morning as well as advice on walks, activities and restaurants in the area. A relaxing location only 10-15mins drive from Chamonix. Would definitely recommend a stay at Chalet des grands bois and hope to be back soon!
