The place was hot, musty and had bugs. We had arrived 15 mins before check in and left before check in time. We could not stay there without air conditioning and windows would not open. Guy, the owner, was very unreasonable. So we left upon arrival.

Our extended family stayed for 3 nights and we had a magical time at this property. We were celebrating a special event ... ask about options for this, and onsite catering as well. Thank you for making our time at Spirit Horse Farm so special!

Highly recommend for those who can't be without or don't want to be without their pups. Stunning property and I'm sure lots to do. Will be back for sure ☺️

A Perfect House & Space for a Great Country Getaway! 5/5 Stayed August 2021 Jay and Cindy G. New York City The house was the perfect setting for a week’s stay for our family’s getaway. The Spirit Horse Farm is located on a beautiful piece of property, a mile outside of Kent Connecticut. The space offers something for everyone. The central house is a very funky converted barn. The ambiance is very laid back but offers all guests top notch musical instruments, a professional pool table, a chef’s kitchen, (with homegrown organic eggs, jams, breads, and cookies thrown in by the owners). Guy and Christine are pro-active and will make certain your trip has no faux pas. There is a comfortable spacious back porch area, offering a spacious deck, grill, privacy and a beautiful large private in-ground stone pool for the summers heat. The bedrooms are suitable for a 5–75-year-old occupant. Tastefully decorated, clean and comfortable. Modern washer-dryer. Every claim and amenity offered is 100% accurate. This is a home away from home and a great summer retreat. Our 5-year-old-grandson loved the big tire swing hanging from the big oak tree in the circular driveway. Avian life plays a part as there are hens and roosters, peacocks, and doves who put on a choreographed air- show circling the property. Kent State Park with a beautiful waterfall is just a 5-minute drive away. Many of the town’s restaurants and local restaurants in Litchfield County are amongst the best in the state. This is a great place for kids especially with the instruments. The horses were not there so a little disappointed. I would highly suggest when people check in to do a tour with Guy or Christina so they can show you how everything works because from the showers to the burners some things are not working or you have to use little tricks.. Pictures are not really accurate especially the room with the twin beds but we had a good time. I think the place just need a full revamp to fix all the little things that don’t work but kids would definitely love the place :)

The inside of barn was amazing! The grounds were somewhat unkept. Disappointed pool was not heated. Overall, would consider staying there again.

Stayed with my family with ages ranging from late 60s to 2 years old. This property is very unique and rustic. It is on a farm with beautiful free range chickens and a peacock, did not see any horses during our stay, and owners are in a separate house on the property. Owners are very nice and gives you plenty of space and freedom to make you feel like you are at home. The pool was the best part, very clean and well kept. Only reason we did not give 5 stars is because we found the house to be dusty, noticed cobwebs in several places, and the floors were a bit gritty when we arrived. We let the owner know and he was very receptive to our feedback. My kids had a great time especially with the rope and wooden swing at the big tree in front of the house. Also note, there are a lot of stairs as the grandparents had a slightly hard time. Otherwise, this property gave us what we were looking for, an escape from the city.

Guy was extremely accessible and helpful. The barn was one of the more interesting places I’ve stayed - tons to do (inside and out) including musical instruments, pool table , chess, a gym and a lovely outdoor pool. We unfortunately were there during a tropical storm and multi day power outage which was tough and disappointing as we only had a couple of days to truly enjoy.

My group had a great time at The Spirit Horse Farm! The property is fabulous, the beds were comfortable, and the pool was a huge hit! We had a perfect weekend, and Guy/Christina were super helpful with any questions we had!

Guy and Christine were fantastic! The property was just what we needed to relax and getaway from the city. We had an emergency with our dog. If it weren't for their quick actions, we would have spent our time in a vet E.R. They were so helpful, and able to tell us the best places to hike. Can't wait to come back!

Spirit Horse Farm is full of character. The main floor is huge and has several seating areas, which would be great for large groups. I visited with 2 friends to get out of the city for a few days. Guy is very responsive and helpful. The air conditioner in my room broke the first night and he got a new one within a day or two. We went to the grocery store and our car broke down- Guy was wonderful and picked us up at the store and even drove my friend to the garage 15 miles away to pick up her car from the shop. That’s way above and beyond. The only minor thing I would suggest is putting some fans on the main floor. The windows don’t open and there’s no screen door on the front door, so we could leave that open. It got very hot and muggy on the first floor. Other than that, the house is very clean and the back deck is a wonderful place to have coffee in the morning!

This home was really unique and felt instantly relaxing as soon as we walked inside of it. While you felt the calm of being "away," you are just a 3 minute drive to shops, restaurants and grocery stores and within 20 minutes of great hiking and skiing. In addition, the owners made our son and our dogs feel really welcome, which was really special to us.

We stayed here during one of the scariest times in our nation, COVID-19. Guy was attentive but respectful. The house was so much fun and had many cool things to do all around it! Thank you for a wonderful stay, we will definitely be coming back in the future! A.

Everything was wonderful this weekend. It is an old barn that has been converted into over 5000 ft.² of lovely living space. It has everything you could imagine and then some. It’s perfect for anyone but also kid friendly. We utilized outdoor bbq, the indoor fireplace, the pool table, the chess set and listened to our favorite music on a Bose radio. Cooks will love the gourmet kitchen. Everywhere you look there are new things to find and enjoy. I look forward to booking this place again and bringing more family now that I know what we may expect. Jason Nashville, TN P.s. The setting is nice and there are some truly unique touches. Our welcome was warm and when we ran into small issues, Guy was very helpful. It was a shame the weather didn’t cooperate and we never got to try the pool as it was too cool. The drum set was a great hit with the kids, if not with their parents! Kent is a lovely town and we enjoyed our stay (for a wedding) a great deal.

Our family had a great time, there’s a lot of activities to do in the property. Swimming pool awesome! We love the place because it’s quiet and relaxing.

Our young granchildren were able to move around outside with bubbles, ball, pool toys in the pool that were available and inside with garage band, pool table. Lots of sofa's for various people/small groups to converse while children played. Wish the back deck had been power washed, but understand the birds like it there. Loved watching the birds in the bird window. Very unique decor and lIked that linens were provided and it was very clean. Beds were comfortable for us.

Our fifth or sixth time back, it's a great spot....great restuaurants near by or cook in. Thanks Guy!

We had a fantastic time at Spirit Horse Farm. The check-in process was seamless, the space is spectacular, the grounds are delightful, and the host was extremely helpful. Great kitchen for cooking for large groups, the firepit, the pool table, the drum set, the guitars. It's really a great destination for a fun weekend away.
