Our three days staying here before leaving on our cruise was a true joy. It is a quiet and peaceful spot in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the city you would never know was there unless you were looking for it. The property was exactly as described and we would not hesitate to stay again on our next trip to the Tampa area.

My girlfriend and I were taking my 80 year old grandmother on a day trip. When we arrived after a 3 hour car ride, we realized there was no code given to access the lockbox and we all had to pee! The host finally called us back after 10 minutes and told us the owner wants him to “meet everyone” before giving access to the house - guess if he doesn’t “approve” of you he can turn you away!? We waited 25 minutes for him to show up, it was 85 degrees, and again, we all had to pee. Turns out there was a key just hanging in an electrical box right there the whole time - it wasn’t even in the lockbox! He said that the lockbox was for his wife’s key!? There was no reason for my grandmother to wait outside in the heat! He proceeded to give us a “grand tour” of the home, and read to us the list of rules POSTED IN THE KITCHEN. I felt very untrusted and watched from the moment we arrived. All we wanted to do was decompress and get our vacation started. We rushed him out the door and left because we wanted to get dinner. We returned at 10:30 pm and realized the host never handed the key to me, it was still sitting wherever he put it down in the house. We tried calling over and over and got NO ANSWER until the next morning! He stressed to us at least 5 times to “please call if we needed anything”, but apparently he turns his phone off at 9. I don’t think that 10:30 pm on a holiday weekend is a very unreasonable time to call. If someone is renting your property maybe keep your phone on!? I ended up making a small slit in the screen door on the back porch to get in. Thankfully the back door was unlocked. After we finally got in after AN HOUR of sitting outside in the dark we realized there was NO RUNNING WATER!! We couldn’t even shower or brush our teeth! There wasn’t even a bottle of water to drink! The host finally texted me at 7 am saying that “people lock themselves out all the time” and he forgot to turn the water pump on!? I wouldn’t have used the shower anyway because the shower head was covered in red mold! He was so thorough with everything else but FORGOT TO TURN THE WATER ON!? Absolutely mind-blown. As a property manager myself, I don’t EVER have my phone turned off and I certainly wouldn’t leave an elderly woman sit outside in the heat. He offered me a heavy discount on a future stay and later charged me $90 for the screen. Never mentioned that fee while I was there, so I could have fixed it myself for $10.

This is a lovely 2 bedroom and 1.5 bath guesthouse in a very quiet and peaceful neighborhood of Brandon. The house sits on a small lake that encourages birds and other wildlife to have their fun. It was a great stay. Property management was very responsive and good to work with.

We had a nice time and enjoyed the peaceful and beautiful setting. The manager was nice and responsive to our questions and concerns. The place was clean and spacious. It will be on our top of the list if we visit the area again in the future.

Great experience

This property is well kept and very clean with large windows to view the beautiful lake. There is a screened-in porch with comfortable chairs to enjoy morning coffee, or you can sit outside at the picnic table or on provided lawn chairs. It is a relaxing spot to return to after a busy day in the area. The kitchen is well stocked with plenty of pots, pans, dishes, glasses, and utensils. We would stay here again.

Wanted a nice and secluded place. It was perfect. The house is nice. The air conditioner only goes down to 72 so it is sometimes too hot in the house. Otherwise perfect.

This was a perfectly cute two bedroom. Perfectly located on a quiet little lake. It was near everything. It was better then the pictures made it look. We had a great weekend relaxing

The space was perfect for our needs. Close to the training site and local needs like groceries and such. House was clean, spacious and just what we needed. I would stay here again.

Wonderfully serene setting and beautifully decorated house. Directions were good to this secluded spot. Especially enjoyed sitting on the screened in porch each evening.

Nice house and property. Really enjoyed our stay! Only thing that could have made it better was if we could have used the pontoon boat sitting there.

This property is so beautiful… Peaceful lake, lovely porch breeze, wonderful privacy, beautiful Banyan tree with elegant Spanish moss. We felt like we were staying at a southern plantation. Excellent home, squeaky clean, comfortable, and relaxing. A 5+ all the way!

Overall the property was great, but there were a couple of issues. This property gives you the option to make 2 payments, the problem was 10 days before my final payment was due I started receiving messages telling me I had to make a payment. They came from someone named Kathleen (maybe the owner) who I had never spoken to. In the listing it stated Tom & Sandy were the hosts. The payment arrangement was made by the property managers, not me. I felt like I was being treated like a deadbeat. There were post-it notes around the house stating different rules that we were already made aware of. I'm not a child and we respect people's property. To get to this property you have to drive through an apartment complex, one night while driving through the complex we saw 10 or 12 teens shooting fireworks at the buildings and at cars. The next day when we arrived at the property after dinner and found a car with 4 young people in it sitting in the driveway. The vehicle had Texas plates, later that day I saw the same car at one of the apartments. Overall we had a great time, the fishing in the lake was good and the house was beautiful. The issues I mentioned were minor, I highly recommend this property, Tom and Sandy were great, very professional! If they lose the notes and let the hosts do their job, I would love to stay again.

The house was an enjoyable stay. The only con to this property is the driveway path. The branches from the overgrown trees and thorny plants scraped against our car as we drive in and out.

Traveled from Atlanta Georgia to spend the weekend for a Graduation party. As busy as a Party and Memorial Day weekend was; it was a wonder to drive to the guest house for quiet, calm and clean serenity. Comfortable everywhere! Wish more properties were like this. Definate revisit

This place is great for a quiet getaway with a beautiful view. Why would you stay at a hotel when you get a whole lake front house with everything you need for your stay.

Hidden gem!

We enjoyed our stay by the lake. It was secluded and very peaceful. The house was beautiful, well-equipped to make our stay very pleasant. Enjoyed seeing the daily wildlife and sitting in the back area. We had a fabulous time there. We would have appreciated a tv in the second bedroom but otherwise everything about this location was perfect! We would definitely rent this home again and highly recommend it to others.

We had a slight miscommunication about where to leave the key upon our departure, but other than that, great trip!!

This guest house was perfect for our work trip. As other reviews have noted, you pass through an apartment complex to get to the house and you're near all kinds of stores and major roads, yet when you're at the house it's like your own little slice of heaven. We ended up with more time to ourselves than we thought we'd have on this trip so our last day we spent hours sitting on the back porch watching the lake & wildlife (didn't spot any alligators but saw many birds and a friendly racoon). Would definitely return!!

The trees, the moss, the palms, the guest house private drive (separate from the main house drive), the lake...The scenery was stunning! The house inside, very comfortable and clean! Lots of storage space for your clothes to stay a while, and most of the kitchen essentials for meals. This is truly a great deal! Cons: Traffic is loud at times. Every bumble bee driven Honda was heard.If coffee would have been provided, this would have been an A++!! But it was still an A+. You will enjoy your stay here.

Great stay. Property is located lakeside; very private and quiet. All rooms, facilities, appliances are very clean and tastefully decorated. Wi-fi and cable worked well.

We were looking for a getaway from the snow up north and found this gem of a property! It is located in a residential area, but once you turn into the long winding driveway, you are in your own private getaway! We would drive to the beaches during the day, and then end the day with a view of the nice lake on the property. I highly recommend this property!
