This property is better than its pictures......nice quiet area, wonderful easy access to main river, calming view from back yard and tike, well stocked home, easy parking for boat trailer, overall a 5 star VRBO. Would book this property again.

This is our 2nd year in a row staying here. There is everything you need and then some. The kids live in the pool even at night with the pool lights on. Access to the main channel takes seconds. And yes- the manatee were found and loved and scallops were plentiful! Host is very responsive to any needs. We will be back!

This house was very clean , very cozy , beautiful location , canal was in a perfect location from a fresh spring and the Gulf of Mexico! Highly recommend and we plan to come again next year!!

The location of the Mermaid house is great - located on a quiet canal and only a short distance to the springs on Crystal River. The house exceeded our expectations and the host, Chris, was very responsive.

This property was great for the nature getaway we wanted for our family. Communication with Chris was easy and efficient. The property was very nice and well stocked as promised. We use VRBO often, and the supplies and available equipment were among the best we’ve experienced. Only comment is that the pictures are not 100% accurate. There is not a futon in the extra room. Not a big deal for us but notable.

We had a great stay! The house is as nice or nicer than advertised. Owner was super responsive and very easy to correspond with. Total privacy, quiet and clean. One of our best VRBO stays. We’ll be back.

Our weekend stay at this Crystal River house was nothing short of fantastic! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the stunning pool and convenient dock accessibility. It was the perfect setup for our group,(family, and even younger children.) The house itself was spacious and well-maintained, providing all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. If you're considering a getaway in Crystal River, this is definitely the place to look into further. Highly recommended for a memorable and relaxing retreat.

My family and I choose the Mermaid House after many hours of research, and boy were we glad we did. The Mermaid house had EVERYTHING you could possibly imagine and more. We used the kayaks and pool the most. We choose to pay the extra fee to heat the pool and I'm so glad we did. There was a day it rained, and I was happy to see all the games, cards, basketball, coloring books, etc. you had set aside, it made our rainy day so much more enjoyable. The Mermaid house is about 6 miles from the local beach so that was pretty neat too and is 8ish minutes from town. Everything that is listed on this property is 100% accurate and very much enjoyed. If we ever come back to Crystal River, the Mermaid House is where we will stay :) P.S. My mom was in heaven with all the wonderful kitchen appliances, gadgets, etc -- that kitchen had it all.

We absolutely loved our stay at that Mermaid house, all of the touches that have been added to this house truly make it a magical place to stay. We felt right at home with all of the wonderful touches that were included, you can really tell they've put some love into this home. Thanks for sharing this awesome place with us, we enjoyed taking the kayaks out for a spin and even saw a few manatees even though were were a little late in the season.

We rent vacation homes every year, the Mermaid House by far is the best! Not only do you have everything you need, there’s more! You can tell that the host thought of everything from check in to check out to make sure your stay really feels like a vacation! We’ll be back!

We have stayed at the Mermaid house a few times now and love it. The owner has made updates as the years go and it really feels like home. The vacation is exactly what we look for, safe, quiet, and relaxing. The kids spend 5-6hours (minimum) each day in the pool and the property makes for a great family stay. We look forward to being back next year!

This property was fantastic! Pool was warm! Close distance to swimming with the manatees. we were able to launch our boat and have it at the dock within minutes. Our host Chris was great with responding to our questions. Would definitely recommend this property . It exceeded our expectations! We will be back!

If you are thinking of staying here, just do it! Amazing home, all sorts of things for the kids to do. Beautiful warm pool. Love this home. Hopefully will be back next year.

The house had everything we wanted. Clean, open space inside and heated pool outside. We felt so relaxed. Plan to hopefully return next year..

We spent 3 amazing weeks at the Mermaid House. It was fabulous, clean and everything we needed. The host Chris was available when ever we had questions, and gave great recommendations of places to see and eat. We even saw manatee in our canal one afternoon. This house is close to everything. We will be back.

Perfect distance to 3 sisters whether you go by car or kayak directly from the home. It is a good workout from the home but you don't have to be an athelete to get there. The home was outstanding and the amenities especially enough kayaks for 8+. This was a great New Years getaway for us. Thank you for the hospitality!

We grabbed this rental on a whim....and quickly realized just how lucky we were to get it! The property is located on a quiet cul-de-sac and is exactly as described. The home was recently renovated and is absolutely stunning. The owner has thought of absolutely **everything**, from the abundance of activities for the littles (ages 3-12) - boardgames, bikes, art table with coloring supplies, arcade games, pool toys, kiddie-sized kayaks - to entertainment for adults, as well! The kitchen was impressively stocked, as were the bathrooms. We took advantage of it all during our (entirely too) short visit. We intended to spend most of our time in town but once we settled in at the Mermaid House, we quickly realized there was little reason - or desire! - to venture out. The tiki bar and fire pit were great for grilling and hanging out while the kids played in the perfectly warmed pool which was such a treat over an unusually chilly FL weekend! We ventured out on the kayaks with the kids towards Buzzard Island during high tide and quickly stumbled on a pod of manatees heading out of Kings Bay. We followed them quite a ways before enjoying a great workout back against the wind and tide! After this incredible experience, the kids enjoyed time on the paddle boards and kiddie kayaks in the protected area along the dock out back. The owner was incredibly responsive throughout our stay. We were so impressed we quickly looked for open dates so we can enjoy another future stay!!

We got there really late since west-her played a factor on our drive. Immediately we felt like we were at home. Chris is amazing with communication and I would give them a 10+ since they truly thought of everything we might need

We absolutely loved our week in the Mermaid House! The property is impeccably clean and perfectly equipped for a comfortable stay. The heated pool is ideal for kids and adults alike. Location is exceptional! We enjoyed the variety of kayaks on the canal, and it’s a quick drive into Crystal River or down to Homosassa Springs. This was our second stay in this rental, and we hope to return again next winter! The additions of the games in the garage and new kitchen appliances are great updates. Chris is very responsive and an excellent host. Highly recommend!!

Great place and location

We’ve been going scalloping 10 yrs in a row where we book a house and this as been the nicest one yet!

We had a fantastic stay at The Mermaid House for our annual scalloping trip. So many wonderful amenities that aren’t typically available. The ice machine was AMAZINGLY helpful! The house was very clean and comfortable. The driveway was conveniently large. We were able to fit an F-250 with pontoon trailer, F-150 with boat trailer, and an Expedition Max without using the grass. The communication with the owner, Chris, was easy and he is super nice. We hope to book again next year!
