Good location perfect size for our needs very neat and cozy

The cottage was very nice and cozy! The beds were wonderful! The furniture was comfy and the location is perfect! Beautiful view of Moose River and close to town! Owner communications were great! He checked on us to see if we needed anything. Great place!

It’s nice that it’s close to town, but the street was incredibly busy. Had deer and duck visitors and that was pretty cool!

The house is roomy and delightful. Very clean, great location and accommodated our family of 7 very easily. The kayaks and bikes available made our stay perfect! Will definitely stay here again.

This was a lovely home full of Adirondack charm. Large living room and kitchen and bedrooms provided plenty of space. It was decorated in wonderful Adirondack accents and was clean and comfortable. The kayaks that were available provided wonderful trips up or down the river to neat swimming holes and wildlife. We liked that we were close enough to town to walk or ride a bike but far enough away from the noise. The road that the house is on is a little busier than we thought it would be but really didn't cause any disruption to our stay. The owner was prompt in replies and very friendly to deal with. Thank you again Shawn for a lovely visit!

MooseHaven is a great get-away! We really enjoyed the quiet property, proximity to the Moose River, and especially, the use of the kayaks. The owners were wonderful to work with, and we also very much enjoyed the gentleman who takes care of the lawn. We would love to return again sometime. :)

All the comforts of home.

We stayed three weeks in this wonderful house. My children, grandchildren and friends visited us. It is across the street from the Moose River. Shawn has kyacks, bikes, a kitchen fully stocked with everything you might need to cook, games for kids and adults and a fire pit in the big backyard for toasting marshmallows. The location is close to town that has wonderful restaurants and tennis courts. We are already planning to stay next year!

STAYED 7/1-6/16-FOUND HOME TO BE VERY NICE AND CONVENIENT LOCATION. VERY WELL STOCKED WITH SUPPLIES. ISSUES WITH FUTON BEDS BEING UNCOMFORTABLE-RECOMMEND REPLACE WITH REGULAR TWIN SIZE MATTRESSES. ALSO SOME EQUIPMENT NEEDS MAINTENANCE....DOUBLE KAYAK HAS HOLE-ALMOST SANK AND BIKES HAD CHAINS OFF AND NO BRAKES. RULES FOR HOME VERY STRICT BUT MR. RITCHIE WAS VERY COOPERATIVE WHEN ASKED TO ALLOW SOME EXCEPTIONS.

We stayed at Moosehaven initially for the prime location. It is much more. The home was warm and inviting, clean, and well stocked with everything you need. You must bring your own sheets and towels which I prefer. There is a washer and dryer so if you stay longer then we did you can care for them for fresh use. Games and WiFi keep the kids entertained if the weather keeps you from enjoying the awesome outdoor activities. We can't wait to return. Thanks Shawn for all your hospitality!

MooseHaven is in a great location with a view of Moose River. It's very clean and has all the comforts of home. The well stocked kitchen will even keep a gourmet cook happy. The futon beds under the bunk beds are a little difficult to sleep on (hard as a rock). So I suggest you bring a mattress topper for better comfort. The other beds a comfortable. I'm going back in the fall with family and look forward to it. Thank you Shawn for being so accommodating. Your camp home gets an A+ from me!

This is the third time we've stayed here for a summer vacation. The house is great- nicely kept, terrific location and very comfortable. The kayaks are fun to take out on the river, and we are able to walk and bike to town or anywhere else we want to go. As always, we already start talking about our next stay before we've even left!

We thoroughly enjoyed our week here and loved the clean and well maintained home. We spent the week with another family of 4, and it was perfect! The house was well-equipped with all of the kitchen items one would need including dish detergent, hand soap, paper towels, kitchen towels, basic spices, etc. We have been to beach vacations where we have to bring or buy everything, so this was great. They even have laundry detergent! We brought our own sheets and towels as recommended by the owners. There are games and jigsaw puzzles, which were nice for the evenings. We enjoyed having coffee on the porch that looked onto the river. The location was convenient to the main street of Old Forge-- a 1 mile + drive or a nice walk. We liked Slickers and sat outside with the kids (ages 7-13) so they could run around and play on the nearby playground until our food came. We hiked Bald Mountain, which is an easy drive to the base, and we rented a pontoon boat in Eagle Bay. Great horse back riding was near Eagle Bay as well. We also enjoyed the Water Safari water park that is just past the main street of Old Forge. The house is directly across the street from the Moose River, so it was easy to walk the 4 kayaks from the garage and launch them (one is a double kayak). We also brought our own stand up paddle boards. The river is calm and peaceful and just beautiful. The kids liked riding the bikes to town and back in the mornings. We saw a lot of wildlife including deer and baby ducks. Shawn was incredibly prompt every time I had a question the week before we arrived. He was really helpful in providing a list of things to do and answering all of my questions. We would highly recommend staying here.

This home is so perfect for couples or a small family. It is so clean & well maintained. Quiet setting with many, many amenities not always offered in homes that are much more expensive to rent. We are thankful to the Ritchie family for offering this on VRBO.

Great girls weekend getaway! Plenty of space,very clean and well maintained. Fully equipped kitchen. Front porch was great for watching the deer. The owners were great to work with. Overall a great place to stay. I'd will definitely recommend this to friends.

My family has been going to Old Forge for several years now and this place is by far the best we have stayed at. It is extremely accommodating and very clean! We will most definitely be staying here again. I'm ready to book for next year!

We just spent the 4th of July weekend in Old Forge and were very pleased with the accommodations at Moosehaven. The house is spotless, has all the amenities of home and is tastefully decorated in Adirondack style. The house feels secluded but is only minutes from town. It was nice to have the kitchen and living room to relax in as opposed to staying in one of the area motels. The owner was always available to answer any questions via email or phone. We enjoyed boating on the lakes, the water park and hiking Bald Mountain. We had a great dinner at Five Corners Café. I would highly recommend staying at Moosehaven! We will definitely be back!

Great place, well kept and clean. Bikes and kayaks were awesome. Very nice location on Moose River and accessible.
