Walking distance from the beach and you can hear the ocean waves from the house. Felt like a local in this residential neighborhood, not touristy at all. The owners live close by and are very nice and respectful. Great central location to a lot of other great beaches and shopping. Would definitely rent this place again.

The location is convenient, and good except there was some night partying across the street at the beach park, including a shouting altercation which ended before the police arrived. Everything was spotless except for the gas grill. The cooking grate obviously had not been cleaned for a while and was covered with moldy, crusty grease which took some effort to clean and burn off. The kitchen is well equipped except it needs a knife sharpener. Lots of knives but all dull!

The beds and linens are so comfortabe and the kitchen is completely stocked will all the cooking tools you could possibly need. We loved watching the sunrise every morning and spending the afternoon and evenings sitting on the front porch. The location is perfect, with Kapa'a nearby and Princeville/Hanalei not far away. The cottage is on a quiet dead end street just across from a wonderful beach. The owners are friendly and helpful and live just next door. We felt at home and look forward to spending another 3-4 weeks here next year.

Our stay at the Hibiscus Hula was so nice!! We stayed here for our last week on our honeymoon and it was the perfect opportunity to relax and spend quality time together. The view of the mountains behind the cottage was so nice! We felt like we were in a good location to explore the whole island. Our only issue was the first two nights, people camping on the beach played really loud music and set off fireworks really late at night and into the early morning. Other than that, we had a great stay!!!

Our stay in Hawaii was awesome. This home is really cute and has all of the essentials needed for a beach vacation. The beach chairs, umbrella, snorkel gear was all perfect and in great condition. All supplies for cooking were on hand and the outdoor grill was excellent. This house felt like a home and we were super comfortable there. We hope to return in the future!

Skillfully done remodel of what was once a much more modest dwelling (as a furniture maker, I appreciate the details). Shower is detached from the half bath, located in the basement, but that's actually pretty convenient for coming in from the beach or hiking. Great outdoor shower as well. Kitchen is just fine with plenty of stuff. The owner lives next door and is very friendly. Beach is just across the road...not the best beach on Kauai, but it's a beach! Lovely hearing the ocean sounds at night. All in all a fine stay, especially for the price.

This year there were kids parking at the beach playing rap music with BIG, LOW bass lines, which probably carried for half a mile. On Saturday night at 12:15 I called the cops, and it stopped shortly thereafter. Don't understand why they're not all stone deaf. Hope this fad stops soon....

My wife and I have stayed at Anahola Bay dozens of times since we spent our honeymoon there in 1972. The house that we normally rent has been sold an is no longer available. We were very happy with the Hibiscus Beach cottage located right across the street from a beautiful beach. There is very little traffic on this dead end street. The house was very clean and comfortable and we loved the big shower downstairs. Having a washer and dryer and full kitchen was great as well. The view of the Anahola mountains is spectacular. Perfect for a couple or couple with a child. We will probably stay there again! The only disappointment was that Ono Char Burger has closed. darn!!

The cottage is well stocked, and the property management team are wonderful, and very professional. We had one small issue that I emailed them about on our first morning (the coffee maker was broken), and even though it was a Saturday, they brought by a new coffee maker right away.

I also loved the wonderfully dark night skies we enjoyed just outside the cottage. The location is perfect. Quiet, close to a beautiful beach, and still not too far from any where else on the island. We would recommend this cottage with out hesitation to anyone heading to Kauai, as long as they are fine with stairs. Not only is the front door up a few steps, but the (cute) shower is downstairs with the washer/dryer.

The cottage has a very "beachy" feel and we loved all the niceties: updated appliances, covered front porch to watch the sunrise, very large walk-in shower downstairs, outdoor shower to rinse the beach sand off, and on and on.....
The ocean is right across the street: hearing the waves at night puts you right to sleep.
If you are looking for a quiet, cozy get-away, this is the place.
