The property was even more amazing than the pictures. Very comfortable, all the right amenities, perfect privacy (except for the chickens!) and jaw dropping views. The walk to the beach is a floral and fruit adventure, and the beach, surf and views were spectacular. We will be back and will stay longer.

What an incredible property! We could not have found a more perfect destination for our family vacation. The main house was well appointed and a perfect fit for a portion of our family. My wife and I and our two young kids stayed in the cottage and felt like we had our own little slice of heaven! The view is spectacular and there is no better place to relax than on the cottage front deck or patio. The property manager Jimmy was fantastic and made us feel right at home and was responsive to any questions or needs we may have had during our stay. Thank you Jimmy! The property is stunning with a wide variety of citrus, avocado, cacao and other fruit trees at every turn. The walk to the beach is magical in its own right as you traverse the tropical jungle, cross over meandering streams and go through the Cacao tree groves. It’s a 10 minute walk and worth every minute so take your time and enjoy the hike. Secret Beach is just wonderful and with the private access to this sparsely populated beach we almost felt as if we had our own private beach. The surf is high in the winter months but the kids loved frolicking in the waters edge and we spent many hours soaking up the sun and the beauty of this beach! Our family ranged from ages 9 to 75 and I can say with certainty that this was a trip of a lifetime for all of us. I can’t say enough good things about our experience at the Jungle Bee House and Cottage! We can’t wait to visit again someday…hopefully sooner than later.

A beautiful secluded property with two dwellings that comfortably fit our whole multi-generational family for an unforgettable Christmas holiday. The kitchen was stocked well enough to allow lots of cooking and baking for the holidays, and we were just a few minutes drive from a lovely little town and market. All the comforts of shops and restaurants nearby, while we felt complete privacy amongst the trees overlooking the ocean.

This property is one of a kind. It’s on the north side of the island, so it gets a lot of rain. This makes the bottom of the property a tropical jungle which has been cultivated into a fully functional cacao farm accompanied with other fruits. The property comes also equipped with its own flock of chickens and a herd of pigs. The chickens are up at dawn the the pigs are out at night. We got snorted at a couple of times at night walking between the houses. It really is a magical place and I will definitely be back.

My husband and I had the privilege of staying at this property again. We are already looking at booking our next trip. We love the privacy this property provides and the unique decor. There are trees on property which we enjoyed picking fruit from and there’s also a private valley that you can hike through to get to secret Beach. I won’t talk too much more about this property lest I not be able to get a date for our next trip :) Also, Jimmy is incredibly responsive and an overall lovely person. Thanks again Jimmy!

This was our 3rd visit to Jungle Bee. We have busy lives and Jungle Bee is a place to unwind & simply experience the extreme beauty that is all around. We managed to leave the property a few nights to take advantage of the great restaurants but mostly we wanted to stay put! The walk to the beach is a joyful adventure each time. You never know what wildlife you are going to see. And Jimmy the property manager will take care of your every need! Love Jungle Bee!

The two homes were beautiful and clean. Great ocean and tropical landscape views from both houses. About 10-15 walk to the beach on a nice trail. Lots of nice restaurants near by. We will definitely return!

Fun place to stay. The grounds are the star. In the main house, beautiful views of the landscaped back yard from the deck with both the mountains and ocean as the backdrop, and with bird activity to enjoy all day. In the studio, beautiful views over the stream valley. The “trail” was an extension of the yard. First part was a trail down to the stream. This is the one part that would be a challenge to people with mobility issues, with a narrow path on somewhat uneven ground and somewhat steep. Probably to be avoided if falls are a concern. Second part was really a landscaped yard along one side of the stream that extended down to a great little waterfall. This part has the couple of groves of cacao trees that I guess make it a “farm”. Looks like maybe this was designed as a spiritual refuge (complete with buddha type statues) in a previous incarnation of the property. Feel like royalty having this remote, private garden for strolls. Final segment to the beach is an old concrete road, a couple of small but steep hills on it but otherwise easy footing. No traffic on this road…not sure why it is there. Fun to look for different fruit trees throughout yard and trail. We found papaya, fig, mountain apple, avocado, orange, mango, grapefruit, soursop, and noni. Not all were ripe and often the numerous wild chickens (who did crow consistently and loudly at daybreak at 5 am and throughout day) got the fruit first. Houses were in good shape, well equipped, and comfortable. A bit different than other rentals because they don’t really provide “anticipated” info (like a guest manual or advance communication) but the property manager was very responsive to phone calls (messaging on vrbo app was less responsive). So just be prepared to call the property manager with any and all questions. Also, they provide minimal toiletries but two stores just down the road in Kilauea with everything needed. Kilauea was great for markets and food options, so make sure to try as many as possible.

The property is truly a wonder. My favorite part of my day was walking the path to the beach. The path is gorgeous and filled with beauty and lush greenery. My husband and I stayed in the Ocean suite and it was romantic and cozy. Conversations with Jimmy the property manager were easy, fast and accommodating. We'll 100% be back to Jungle Bee.

We really enjoyed the beautiful house and garden, full of fruit trees. The two homes were perfect, views amazing, kitchen well appointed, great showers. Be careful at the beach as the waves can be treacherous, and pull you away from shore. After an incident, we chose to go to other beaches instead.

My parents, my sister and her boyfriend, and my husband and I greatly enjoyed our stay at JungleBee! The property and the surrounding area are just gorgeous, the houses are nice, and Jimmy was responsive and helpful. I expected the property to be nice, based on the photos and video, but it was so much nicer than I expected. The views are phenomenal. Both of the larger bedrooms in the main house have views of the ocean, which I didn't expect. The walk to the beach is pleasant and not terribly difficult, but when we were there in June 2021 the water was a bit rough for swimming. The waves weren't huge, but they were strong. (Our Nā Pali coast boat tour tour was rougher than the one I'd taken on a different visit, though, so maybe Secret Beach would also normally be calmer in June.) Difficult swimming notwithstanding, we had a wonderful time, and we'd be happy to stay there again!

The property is absolutely amazing and our daily walks down to the beach were delightful. Both houses were clean and well appointed, with the smaller cottage being a bit more modern and the big house more traditional Hawaiian style. The AC in the cottage was quiet and kept the entire house very comfortable. The big house became a bit toasty in the late afternoon, even with the tradewinds blowing, but quickly cooled down after sunset. Both AC units in the bedrooms worked well to keep the rooms comfortable. Cellular reception was sporatic in both houses. The big house had a faster wifi connection making wifi calling a bit easier to manage. The insects took some getting used to, especially the house geckos which "chirp" all night long inside both houses, high above, on the vaulted ceilings. The centipedes can bite, so walking around without shoes was sometimes problematic. Frogs are everywhere on the property, but are harmless, like the roosters and their crowing that begins at 3:30 AM. These things are typical almost everywhere on Kauai, although since the houses are so close to the jungle, they are more noticeable and expected here. We all enjoyed the plentyful wildlife. The property manager was easy to communicate with and was helpful when needed to address a few, very minor issues. A brief power failure knocked out the spa. The garbage disposal, one ceiling fan and ice maker in the cottage did not work, but the ice maker was repaired quickly and worked perfectly during the majority of our entire visit. The kitchen appliances and cookware in the cottage are gourmet quality and worked great. We had a very enjoyable stay at both Jungle Bee houses for two weeks and would definitely return to the beautiful and unique property.

Jungle Bee is truly a magical property to stay in! It is off the beaten path and secluded! The grounds are captivating and breathtaking! With a running stream and waterfall that meanders through the tropical foliage that you can totally relax in as the birds sing their songs throughout the day! A path takes you down to Secret Beech where the view at sunset is like a painting! The main house is roomy with A/C in each bedroom! This is my ninth visit to Kauai and Jungle Bee is by far the best place I’ve stayed at! I highly recommend this enchanting place!

2 Couples, 1 single adult, 2 kids. Beautiful place on the north shore of Kauai. The pictures are accurate, and the place is really nice, with lots of space and is very private. The walk to the beach takes less than 10 minutes for anyone in decent shape. The views of the water are very nice. The separate apartment is very nice. We were there in February and the temperature in the houses was between mid-sixties and mid-seventies every day. We never had to turn on the AC (currently in the two master bed rooms in the main house). Jimmy, the host, was quick to respond, before and during the rental period. We'll definitely use this place next time we go to Kauai. My one concern would be in the summer as far as AC. Jimmy indicated they are adding another AC unit sometime in the future, and I would guess the non-AC rooms might get a bit warm in the summer if the breeze died down. For us, it was awesome. Highly recommend this property for anyone looking for spacious and picturesque privacy along with modern and clean accomodations.

Once you pull up into this enormous Hawaiian estate you will be flooded with curiosity. Where are the fruit trees, hidden trails and waterfalls? After a fun adventure down to Secret beach you will find the surf, sand, sea and sunset. The town has Pacos Tacos - a delicious spot for some Hawaiian / Mexican food... no to mention Sushi Girl and plenty of other restaurants nearby. The new market with its arctic a/c provides anything you could need and there are multiple great beaches within minutes. A+

We found heaven in god’s country! Jimmy, who cares for the property, took care of any & all requests which were few because Jungle Bee provided so much. There’s no sense in trying to describe this place. You must experience it for yourself. However I will add the smaller cottage was the choice spot!

Picture it - waking up to the view of the ocean and the hawaiian trade winds. Wandering the estate and picking fruit. Making use of their beautiful outside space to host dinner or sit in the hot tub overlooking the valley and ocean. My husband and I have had the pleasure of staying at Jungle Bee previously. We brought the rest of the family along for this trip and had a wonderful time. When we visit, we genuinely don't want to leave the property and often times wish we had designated more time in just enjoying the space because it is so well maintained, tranquil and beautiful. We highly recommend the space if you want a little slice of paradise and a space to relax and let go.

The photos don't do this place justice. Jimmy is the best. All of our needs were met and expectations exceeded. Beautiful space and you basically have a botanical garden to yourself. Can't wait to return!

We really appreciate the environmental consciousness of the place - recycling, plenty of glass containers for leftovers, welcome gifts of local food products, and your thoughtful stewardship of that land. We just finished two weeks at this spectacular property. We were blessed with 14 sunny days strait as well as a Blood Moon and Lunar Eclipse. Every day we took the 10 minute trail to Secret Beach. Barefoot, bathing suits, towels and water, we went down the trail to find an ever changing landscape during high tide or low. We experienced huge waves only suitable for surfers and days so calm, we were able to snorkel. One of the days we watched whales and spinner dolphins play for hours. They seemed so close to shore. The Avocados, tangelos, grapefruits and cocoa were endless and we took full advantage. We were a family of 5 from 21 years old to 86 year old Pop, who handled the trail like a champ. We spread out between the main house and cottage. Anything and everything was provided in the comfortable and well appointed home. We are already deciding when our next two week visit will be. We rented both houses for a multi-generational family gathering including the celebration of our sons first birthday. We will be coming back for sure so and as such I am going to limit my praise to avoid it being too hard to book:) We stayed during the mother of all storms in April18 for the floods so only got 3 sunny days out of 12, but it was still awesome. The houses are well appointed (even toys for kids) and Jimmy was the perfect host, on call to help us with questions / requests and spot on recommendations. God forbid you need to work the wifi is very strong at both houses. The smaller guest house would be great for honeymooners as you can choose either waterfall or crash surf noise each night based on which windows you open/close. The hot tub was awesome each morning and evening, although the cover is a challenge to get back on but suspect that will be fixed by the time you read this. Only other suggestion is potential off-site laundry of the towels to avoid the "moist" smell in the towels. Picked two types of oranges each morning for juice, grapefruit for our Collins cocktails, coconuts for water, papaya and avocados for snacks. In constant awe of the various colors of cacao pods down the valley. Yes there are spiders, mosquitoes and ants but that just is telling of how healthy the eco-system is. We had visits by wild pigs, an array of bird life and lots of chickens with a few proud roosters. The hike down to the beach is only challenging during heavy rain; my parents both in the their 70's, one with replaced knees were able to do it even when muddy although that was more exciting than relaxing…but on a clear dry day very doable with lots of magical rest stops along the way. Suggest putting toddlers in a backpack to avoid any falls. The beach is perfect. Even a fresh water steam for little ones to play in at the beach should the surf be a bit daunting. If you align with eco-sensitivities, a love of nature, cooking and privacy this is a perfect spot for a family vacation.

We really enjoyed our stay here. A word of caution, though! BRING BUG SPRAY. It was very wet on the island when we went and within an hour I had 20+ bug bites on my legs. Once we realized how much of a problem it was, we were diligent about putting spray on and the rest of the trip was fine. The AC in the bedrooms as wonderful at night. The third bedroom is very small, but we were able to put my daughter's pack n play no problem. One small complaint, for the price of the home I would love to see a high chair and pack n play added for amenities. This is the only home I have ever had to rent from a second party and there is plenty of closet space to store them. Highly recommend Babylicious for this service if you need to, though. The house was clean and well maintained. There were extras for us like a gift basket when we arrived with local goodies. The ocean suite has the views and a new remodel. It is a walk down the hill, but not bad. There was little to no fruit like other reviewers talked about during our stay. Lots of wild chickens and pigs which the kids loved to spot. The property manager had great communication. We were not able to use the private beach path due to the mud which was kind of a bummer. I think if the weather had been more favorable we couldn't have gotten a tad more out of the stay here. Overall though, it's a great vacation home!!!

This property is amazing. Along with some friends, we rented both houses for 5 days. Everything was pretty much perfect (except the mosquitoes). Houses we both well equipped. The lower patio was amazing and having direct access to Secret Beach was very cool. We would definitely come back.

We booked the property for a week long family vacation recently and were blown away by how helpful and accommodating Jimmy was. Not only is the property stunning and very relaxing but having the ability to walk down to the beach or take the supplied bikes out for a ride made for an amazing vacation. Jimmy was also very accommodating in allow a baby supply rental place deliver a crib prior to our arrival but he also allowed us to have a late check out on our last day which took a huge stress off our shoulders when trying to entertain 2 small kids until 8pm. We rented both the main house and lower cabin which was great for our large group and both were set up to accomodate both parties. One comment on the property is that the main house and lower house are not right beside eachother as we had thought. It's a few minute walk down the property which was slightly unexpected but still manageable with a large group. Overall I would recommend and also rebook this property.

Paradise Flawless Inspiring Energizing and totally relaxing at the same time. Orange juice will never be the same after squeezing our own from fruit growing in the yard The beach path is like an enchanted trail. We can’t wait to come back.

I feel so lucky to have found Jungle Bee and Jungle Bee cottage. Our family stayed in both for about five days and had an unforgettable experience. Jimmy was very attentive when we arrived, explained everything carefully and showed us around the premises. Welcome baskets with local goodies were much appreciated! He is a wonderful resource and happy to share local recommendations. He remained very responsive the whole time and made sure that we had everything we needed. Jungle Bee and JB Cottage are beautiful architecturally, spotless and well appointed - very nice amenities in a comfortable and casual setting. As others have described, secret beach (a real beauty) is a short walk away. It is hilly; most of the way is through a manicured park-like setting with blooming and fruiting exotic plants. There were a few slightly muddy areas, but our group, ranging from age 18 to 61, found it quite easy and well worth the trips. Jimmy had invited us to pick whatever fruit was ripe on the grounds. Just down the road, there is a group of shops, a bakery, and a restaurant in nearby Kalihiwai, all worth a visit - authentic and comfortable. Further down toward Princeville is a larger grocery store and more restaurants. The view from the deck at the St. Regis in Princeville is mesmerizing and a fun place to have a cocktail and watch the sun set. We also loved the nearby little town of Hannelei and Hannelei Bay. We found very good food there: Hannelei Bakery and Bar Acuda are next door to each other and owned by the same folks - very inventive, fresh local ingredient small plates, as well as delicious cocktails are served at Bar Acuda. Another top spot is the Dolphin Restaurant - a good choice for Poke! You won't want to miss the Na Pali Coast - hike it if you can or you can travel by boat around and through caves, up and down the coast, often including a snorkeling opportunity. Jungle Bee and Jungle Bee cottage are even more beautiful than the pictures show, Very peaceful, as long as you are aware that there are roosters on this plantations who don't hesitate to express themselves confidently. Thank you Jimmy for the amazing opportunity to stay at Jungle Bee - it made our trip of a life time even more perfect!

We rented both houses and it was perfect to allow the teenagers to stay in the ocean suite and the adults in the main house. Both houses were very clean and well maintained, and Jimmy was available anytime we had questions or needed something. The trail to Secret Beach is easy in our opinion, and a beautiful jungle walk with no one around. We went down there about every other day. Tons of fruit trees on the property and the trail, so we always had fresh fruit to eat. A beautiful secluded oasis, but very close to everything we love in North Kauai.
