great house / location for young and old to have fun and relax . something for everyone to do or just chill out by just staying in back yard. beautiful view .absolutely woild come again !!!!

Great location, close to Surf City restaurants and shops. Wonderful deck right on beach. Very comfortable living space. Great place to relax and enjoy the Topsail Island experience. Prior to and during our stay Babs was very helpful and responsive to our questions.

We enjoyed every minute of our family beach vacation at this property. Perfect all around. Looking forward to making memories here again.

That's all I keep saying when my friends ask me how the beach trip went... deeeelightful! This house IS IT. Four steps off of the house length-wide porch off the back is the beach.... you cant get any better than that. Babs is the best (owner) and it was so much fun being able to walk to everything in town. 10 out of 10!!!

Our group thoroughly enjoyed this house. We were so close to shopping and local restaurants. And the large ocean front deck was fantastic for our mother to enjoy the beach without having to traverse the sand. Babs was very attentive and kept in touch with us the whole trip, from booking to checkout. And Paige was a doll!! We would love to stay here again!

We’ve booked many VRBO homes but this was the best experience ever. Easy entry. Great communication with the owner. Words cannot describe the beautiful sunrise over the ocean every morning, viewed from your own private deck. The house is comfortable and convenient walking distance to the Surf City Pier, great eateries (Mac Daddy’s Grille and New York Corner Deli), the local park and pedestrian bridge over the sound, and of coarse literally a handful of steps to gorgeous Surf City Beach where you can watch surfers, parasailing , kite flyers, dolphins, birds or look for smooth rocks and shells. The kitchen is well equipped, the living room couches are comfortable, the TV has plenty of popular channels and streaming service and we got good sleep. Our dog had a ball watching all the beach action from the deck. They have a gate in the laundry closet you can use to limit access to the beach from the deck. They had a full tank of propane ready to go for the grill which was nice since we had to change it out. We were spoiled by Simple Serenity and highly recommend renting. We hope to do so again someday. Thanks Wagners!

This is a well-named cottage. With its oceanfront location and convenience to downtown Surf City, we had a very delightful stay. It is nicely furnished with a very well-equipped kitchen. The host/owner was very easy to work with and did everything she could to make our stay pleasant.

Super large deck with plenty of seating. Everything you need to use in the kitchen is there. So close to town! Walk to restaurants, stores, & coffee shops. The pier is maybe 3 blocks away. The beach is super!So many items provided for the beach. Toys, chairs, boards, etc. Outdoor water to wash off the sand before going inside. We loved it!

We loved Simple Serenity! The view, the beach, the location and the peacefulness we felt during our stay are indescribable. Babs and Mike were wonderful hosts and always immediately responsive to any questions we had about the property, the town of Surf City or Topsail Island. We'll never forget the time we spent on their fabulous deck, just steps away from the ocean, and can't wait to return. Thank you, Babs and Mike, for the wonderful blessing of Simple Serenity.

The location of the cottage was excellent. We could walk to shops, restaurants, coffee houses, & the park . It was very clean, and a big concern was …the bed slept well. It was equipped for every thing we needed to enjoy the inside & outside as well. The extended front deck is so close to the waves, you could sit there & enjoy the whole day. We loved viewing the dolphins in the mornings & afternoon-so glad we took the binoculars . Enjoyed the owner, Babs, stopping in for a visit & making sure we had everything we needed. Would highly recommend Simple Serenity for a truly relaxing vacation!

We just rented this property for two weeks. We'll definitely stay here again. The location is wonderful and the large deck is absolutely amazing. This property has two additional two-bedroom units street-side that would make it the perfect place for a large family to stay with ample room for everyone to enjoy the amazing deck overlooking the ocean. All 3 units are pet friendly. The location couldn't be better, it's very walkable to many restaurants. We also rented e-bikes locally and rode the entire island.

Amazing location and comfortable accommodations. Simple Serenity is a great place. We will always check to see if it’s available when we visit Topsail. Babs (the owner) is incredibly nice and hospitable. Thanks again for a fantastic house!

We really enjoyed our stay at simple serenity! This precious cottage was clean and airy with all the comforts of home. It is in a great location and you can see the ocean the minute you walk in. We can’t wait to visit again! Thank you Babs for sharing your home!

My husband and I came for 4 nights to celebrate his 68th Birthday. It's not our first trip to Topsail but it was our first time staying at this adorable cottage. From the time we opened door and saw the ocean shimmering in front of us we knew we picked the right house. Sure there are big McMansions along the beach we could have rented, but there is nothing like staying in one of the few cottages left along the beach. My husband said this is a house that books are written about. Babs was wonderful and even had her husband drop off an extra tank of gas because I mentioned that my husband loves to grill. The house was spotless and had everything you could need in the kitchen. We're already looking at the calendar to see when we can go back!

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at the cottage on the beach. We stayed in March to get away for a week and booked a week in October to do it again. The location is superb and the internet allowed access. We could not have been happier and are looking into booking again soon.

Process was easy, Owner was great, Location was perfect for our two week stay at Simple Serenity. Loved being right on the beach so close to the water. We spent many hours on the deck enjoying Sun Rises & Sunsets, watching the surfers and the sounds of the ocean. We will definitely be back!

We had an AMAZING time at this property. It is literally 3 steps from the beach, you could not get any closer. Clean property, excellent communication with the property manager. I’d give this 6 stars if I could. Hope to return soon!!
