A big catch is a great house and very accommodating. Unfortunately, we had a couple of big problems. The grills were barely usable. We called about them and somebody showed up but the problem really was not resolved. Another rep showed up Friday afternoon telling us we’d be getting new grills. It was too late because we were leaving Saturday. In any case, we never got the new grills. In the middle of the week, the pool heater went off. In the past, Wednesday was the regular maintenance day. This time they showed up on Thursday and said the heater needed water so it turned itself off. Wednesday was the warmest day and we didn’t use the pool since the heater went off. $600 to heat the pool- We had no way to know why the heater went off! Since we enjoyed our time anyway, we did resign for next year. Hopefully we won’t have these issues.

we had a marvelous visit to the OBX with several couples. The house was clean and spacious and well laid out regarding bedrooms. There were 20 of us and there was still room to go hide if you needed to! I would recommend this home to any large party wanting a nice house with a good location.

We had a great stay at A Big Catch! The location was perfect, so many shops and great food nearby (walking distance), Jack’s Burgers is a MUST HAVE. This home was spacious, beds were comfortable, pool was a good size, and the pool house was an added bonus as it was not featured or listed as a benefit/feature of the home. We especially loved the rooftop area over the pool house for hanging out at night. Beach area was clean. We loved the nugget that was available for the kids too, and the rollaway cots!

Overall, Wonderful…. 14 members of my family from Seattle, Little Rock, NYC, Massachusetts and New Jersey…. Kitchen area was Central and very well equipped. Pool, really clean (inside the adjacent area room could use the AC being repaired as could not be used other than storage) Sunrises were glorious. Proximity to ocean, wonderfull! Central location for the dunes, Bodie Lighthouse, Carolla and Safari tour… good… waterpark and miniture golf (go early!!!!)

Large house and all but one bedroom had its own bathroom which worked well for us. Ice maker is a big plus. Beach access is somewhat difficult as there is a large dune to navigate. Location is very convenient to shopping and restaurants. We had an ac issue on the fourth floor which they did fix but had to come twice. Response to service calls was very prompt

One negative was the outside kitchen/game room was under construction and nit available for use. This would have been fun for the 10 kids we had with us.
All in all this house suited us quite well.

The house is very roomy and in a very convenient location. Close to stores, restaurants and right on the beach. There is a fairly steep dune to get down and back from the beach which might not be ideal for those having difficulty walking. Loved the separate bathrooms in each bedroom. Also liked the multiple refrigerators and dishwashers, and the ice machine was awesome.

A Big Catch had a lot of space so the entire group was not on top of each other! Loved the two kitchens and the king beds. HOWEVER, it is time for an update in décor, in EVERY room except the top living space. For the cost, I expected more. Also, not sure when the house had a very good deep cleaning - well, it is time, especially with COVID.

All in all we had a great time. It is a nice place but not kept up. The owners should be checking this place out periodically if someone is paying $15,000 for one week. All the remotes for the tvs had bad batteries. We had to replace the batteries in the 2/3 thermostats. Cleaning crew arrived at 4:33pm with 6 people and left 5:08pm.Definitely no COVID cleaning. Sand all over the floor. Grill was sooo dirty that we had to clean and scrub it to use and it and it ran out of gas. One of the ceiling fans didn't work in a bedroom. Couple places were trim was missing. The refrigerator drawer was broken and just placed inside the refrigerator. We had health care workers on the frontline and asked if we could move our rental to next year and the owner said no so three families were not able to attend and lost $6000.00
