Loved this little condo in the perfect location. The back deck was so nice to hang out on in the near perfect temps. Great access to a nice pool and played some tennis as well. The condo was well equipped with everything we needed. Loved the little towns of Davis and Thomas, and a nice drive to the Alleghany Highlands bike trail.

The owner was quick to respond, very easy to work with and booking was a breeze. I also found the property management company to be very professional and friendly when I picked up the keys. The Den is located within a "resort complex" that is just a lovely property. We enjoyed the pool, basketball, walking, exploring the area, and just relaxing on the deck and enjoying the refreshing mountain air. I has already recommended this property to friends and family and hope to return soon!

We were extremely pleased with the location of the rental and all of the amenities provided to the guests by the owners. The home is very beautifully furnished and less than 10 mins from all the skiing activities. The weather was not as wonderful, unfortunately, with torrential rain during a good part of the trip. The Den was very comfortable for staying indoors to read and watch football. For any first time travelers to the area, we were told that we were a little early for the skiing season there.

Lots of stairs to climb- fine for younger folks. We received a packet at the office, since we arrived late. We were directed to building #, but didn't know from outside which unit was ours. We had unexpected snow; management plowed the roads regularly. Because the front steps were icy, it would have been nice to have a hand rail on one side so we were just extra careful there.

It is beautifully maintained and has been thoughtfully updated year by year. It is conveniently located in the Canaan Valley, in a country setting but in a cluster of town homes. There are good amenities in Deerfield itself and going grocery shopping, reaching either of the State Parks as well as driving into Thomas is easy. it is also a great jumping off place for day trips, whether it is Canoeing with an outfitter or hearing the WVA Augusta Festival in the summer. The office staff is super and the owners responsive should you ever need to be in touch with them as we were one year. It is a great plus to have excellent wifi service and be within walking distance of a couple of restaurants.

Reviewer Comments: The Den was as advertised, well maintained and clean, good location provides easy access to Blackwater Falls, Dolly Sods & Seneca Rocks..both the owner & the property management company were very nice and easy to deal with, really enjoyed the community's stocked pond. The only thing that keeps me from giving this a full five stars is that we found the bed in the guest bedroom to be fairly uncomfortable and found it difficult to get a good nights rest. Having said that I would still recommend the property to family & friends.
