We enjoyed our stay at Foxwood, it was quiet and secluded and we loved being in the trees, but the property itself could use some maintenance. There were a lot of downed big limbs on the property, and the outside could have used some attention. Of 2 coffee pots, only one halfway worked. The deadbolt on the front door was the only lock that worked, the upstairs shower door kept coming off track, the upstairs bathroom door from the bedroom with the bunkbeds was not able to close properly, and one of the door's handles leading to the deck was broken. There was also a resident Mr. Jingles who came out each evening to entertain. The cabin also had 8 can openers but not one wooden spoon. Just very odd eclectic kitchen items, as most vacation cabins have. I also was just a little creeped out by all the foxes displayed, a bit overkill. If attention was shown to the place, it would have been lovely. As it was, i was a bit irritated that no partial refund was offered . Would stay in the area again, but not that particular cabin.

We visited this property before for our 10yr wedding anniversary. We returned several years later for a thanksgiving stay with the kids. This time we returned to celebrate our 26 yr anniversary. The place shows some wear & tear (like I do!), but is still a really nice place to stay. The bed was very comfortable and everything was very clean.. If you’re there, a must visit is the Purple Fiddle in Thomas for some really good music. The area is fantastic in the fall and Blackwater falls is nice place to visit and go hiking as well.

This property is absolutely beautiful! We thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub as we do not have one at home! Our kids are 15 and 11. This was our very first time "Glamping" as we usually tent camp but decided for some luxury this year and we were not disappointed! Overall the house is very clean! Others had commented on the dusty fans which was true but again we're used to being in a tent in the pouring rain so we honestly felt right at home:-) The staff who checked us in and out were friendly. There were signs of a mouse in the room with the bunkbeds but we reported that to the check out people and they said they would take care of that. We would return in a heartbeat!

The couch and loveseat are not only stained and torn, but they are both broken enough so that the springs can be felt on your back. The back of the loveseat is broken in half and cushions for both couch and loveseat are supported by long pieces of plywood. Laughably bad - until you have to sit on them for more than 20 minutes. There is also a worn chair (with ottoman) that isn't much better and a pile of bean bags that feel like you're sitting on foam rocks. The worst part of this experience is that several other reviewers have mentioned the furniture being bad, but we assumed they'd have been replaced by the time we went... big mistake!
The upsides of the cabin are that the hot tub appears to be brand new and clean, the beds were all comfortable and there were plenty of dishware/utensils to go around. The location is awesome as you're surrounded by woods on all sides, and the charcoal grill was also in good shape. The wood stove is small but also worked well, and the last renters left behind some wood to get us started (so we did the same).
The cleanliness of the cottage was only so-so, the major areas (kitchen counters, bathrooms, floors, bed linens) were all clean but other areas needed some major dusting and cleaning (windows, beams, light fixtures etc. all covered in dust/cobwebs) and there were dirty linens left behind by the previous tenant sitting in the washing machine. We ended up doing some minor repairs/cleaning while we were there (fixed vacuum, LR clock, cleaned kitchen light, etc.) so the place is cleaner now than how we found it. The dryer also didn’t work well as it took 2 cycles to dry one load of linens.
The property managers at BOC are very friendly and receptive and I'm confident they will resolve any issues within their control; they also promised to inform the owner again of the furniture.

Very nice location in the mountains. Surrounded by forest. Peaceful and charming. Minutes to the multiple ski slopes. Great hill for the kids to slide. (Unfortunately, there were no sleds available at the property for the kids). The place was clean and the kitchen very well equipped. On the downside there is some animal living in the wall and you can hear it all night in the top master bedroom. I tried to contact and chat with the owner to let them know, but no response. Also, the hot top had some dirt and small papers floating in it. Not attractive. Overall we enjoyed our stay there and had lots of fun outside skiing, sledding and building snow forces. Thank you!

The kitchen closet is full of dirty looking linens and junk. They only have ceiling fans which need to be cleaned. We could only reach the one in the The do not have not central air, offer no window units or fans. We bought food for the week and the bread molded due to the heat. Some of my pills disintegrated in the pill pack because of the heat/humidity. I have a chronic illness so I could barely function until we went out and I could have cool air. The cooler days it was cooler at night and the windows could be opened to help a little but the kids have allergies. I grew up in poverty in WV. The said the kitchen was well stocked however there is a 40 year old blender and no pizza pans. The only baking pan was rusted. There was only one big, sharp knife. The others wouldn't cut hot butter. I never dreamed I would pay this much money to spend a week living like I was in poverty again. Very disappointed.

They really need to be replaced, you can feel and hear the springs through the back cushions. Many of the lamps are three-way lamps but only had one-way bulbs. Not the end of the world but it's such an easy improvement that doesn't cost a ton. The kitchen is mostly well-stocked with equipment, but if you're planning on doing a lot of cooking, I highly suggest bringing your own chef's knife because the kitchen only had like 24 serrated paring knives... We only slept in the king-sized bed and the mattress was fine. Both bathrooms were adequate. The deck and hot tub were really nice and the dog gates were great. The house does have a dog crate in the living room area but the latch is broken so bring your own if you need it.
