Southwold is special in itself let alone staying at the Swan. The water pressure and speed of hot water delivery was unparalleled. The bed just devine. Everything you would expect from the price and a little more perhaps
I have one or two little pointers which would have just pushed us into the perfect territory. It was lovely to have some books in the room - quirky and joyful - books are now very cheaply bought and two of those in the room had lost their spine and were far too tatty to be there. I couldn’t cast from my phone to the tv - I would have like to have done this but the wifi for the tv was separate and ‘unknown’ . Breakfast is like to suggest a new egg classic - soda bread with advocado poached egg chilli flakes and spring onion plus a drizzle of olive oil… I missed my advocado and it would present some variety I think is a bit missing from the egg rosta. Just some ideas - really tho it was amazing - a fabulous powerful hair drier - the coffee machine is my essential rider and there were generous pods. (I’d bought my own as usually you just get a couple which is very mean) would have liked a fluffier bathrobe - sorry that’s one final thing but the towels made up for it

Dinner was excellent ie both food and wine.
It would have been much nicer if the curtains were lined to reduce the brightness in the room at night.
Also a switch in the room to reduce the brightness of the outside wall light after midnight.

Easy access into town.

Room very hot even with fan provided - ok if you are happy to leave windows open but ground floor.

Food in restaurant very good and staff lovely.
Bathroom needs attention, decor shabby and could use a lick of paint. Floor stained and shower screen particularly grimy.
Mini bar not replenished daily and ran out of toilet paper.
Breakfast at the hotel was delicious however there was a lack of attention to detail with items being missed/forgotten/timings off, which happened at each breakfast sitting.

Excellent staff. Very good food. Bedroom comfortable with all amenities including quality toiletries, robes, slippers, good hairdryer, big fluffy towels, etc. very clean and warm.
Good position in the town, attractive character with good facilities.

Overall experience was amazing, probably the first time I can say all staff made you feel welcome.
Location is perfect and deco throughout the hotel is modern with so much character.
For such a small town a good selection of cafes and shops.
Would love to score this hotel a 10 based on overall customer service , but on this occasion a 9. This is only down to personal preference, I found the bed slightly small and soft. I highly recommend this hotel.

The noise from the seagulls - which I very well know is hard to address but it did heavily disrupt sleep.

Very enjoyable stay. Lovely hotel,friendly and efficient staff. Very clean ,great location and enjoyable dinner and breakfast. I look forward to staying at the Swan again soon.

Secure car parking, excellent choice and quality of food in main restaurant, comfortable king-size bed and spacious bedroom, lovely staff, immediate access to Southwold high street.
Chalets insufficiently soundproofed if backing on to brewery, weekend b&b prices getting expensive

The bathroom was a bit shabby for the price. A £20 late check out fee for an hour extension leaves a sour taste when you’re already paying a lot!

The location is very good and very handy to have on site parking. breakfast was good too.
the room was not in the main building but across the car park; the finishing of the room and the facilities were a bit disappointing for the price, with rather basic amenities and in need of a refurbishment.

Although there were lots of lights in our bedroom, when curtains pulled the room lighting was very dim.
