It was in a good location. The beach was very nice and not crowded. It was clean. They had waiter service on beach that was very appreciated. Our waitress Juliette was phenomenal and the best part of the stay. She was so friendly and went over and beyond to make sure we had what we needed on food and drink. She is a standout employee. Other employees that were helpful were Alexander in guest relations and Zachary at the front desk.

The construction. When we first got there our room was on a floor where there was construction going on on many rooms next to us. There were many workers around and it was messy. We did request a new room which we were able to get the following day which was much better. I also didn’t like the elevators having construction wood on the inside side which made it feel like I was on a service elevator and made it more crowded. I would also say that most of the staff at the front desk were not very friendly with the exception of Zachary and the lady who checked us out. I do think many of the staff need to work on their friendliness and customer service.

The staff are amazing and very willing to assist you with anything you need. My mornings were filled with great breakfasts. My evenings were spent relaxing at my choice of one of their two beach fronts. Great bar. Overall amazing time. Lovely room and decor. Clean environment!

Beach was really nice. Two big lagoons to swim in with calm water. Breakfast buffet was fantastic. Tons of options and everything was very delicious.

Room was good with nice view of garden and part sea. Beach excellent with plenty of beds and good service with towel 'return'. Breakfast excellent, though would have liked Tea and Coffee served at the table.

Rooms - would have liked an iron and board. also regular topping up of Tea and coffee in Rooms. Breakfast - would have liked both Tea and Coffee served at the Table. To go back and forth to collect food and drink ... food gets cold. On Entrance to Hotel - the Steps needed to look clean!

I liked that the beach was exceptional, the breakfast buffet was very good, the bar was great and The Pen was awesome. It is walking distance to downtown Willemstad. Very clean. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff.

The mattress was kind of dated. It was very soft. It was two twin mattresses together and each of them had a center part sunk like for the use.

The staff was very nice and helpful with special requests. Also the location is good, very central, to visits all sides of the Island and within walking distance of the capital. The food was nice and had good selection of food .

The octagon wing is a little out dated for my liking and the rooms less than the other sections. Don´t get me wrong, they are well maintained and very clean.

My husband and I celebrated our honeymoon on this beautiful island but made a big mistake choosing the Avila beach hotel for our stay. First of all, the room was filthy! Dirty towels, mold and stains all over the place in addition to broken lights and a very bed smell. We had dozens of mosquitoes in the room and also blood stains from dead mosquitoes on the walls and floor. The service in the hotel was one of the worst I have ever experienced. The staff here did not make the smallest effort to be kind or helpful with anything we needed, even with simple stuff like getting extra soap or a blanket to the room, took them more than 24 hours and 5 reminder calls. Another example of their "kindness" to their guests would be the airport transportation cost. While a private taxi from the airport charged us 40 USD total, the hotel offers pickup that will cost you 45 USD per person! Meaning $90 for the same ride! I honestly see no reason for anyone to come to this place. Do yourself a favor and spend your vacation in a place that will value you, your time and money.

The hotel is expensive enough to expect a warning while booking that a reconstruction takes place. The every-day-noice at 9:00 was really something not pleasant. Plus, the restaurant staff could be more nice and professional.

The property with two beaches, pool area and garden is really beautiful. It's nice for snorkeling, you can also go out in the open water (if you dare). There are plenty of sunbeds with our without shadow. We saw a lot of fish, and it's nice to look at all the sea birds. The setting of the bar and restaurant area is quite romantic. The live music was great, too. The staff was friendly and caring. Our room was fine. The bed was very comfortable. The whole property was very clean.

We had a cold shower. It didn't change after we complained. It's great we had also a bath tub, but you don't use it, if it's cold. But more important, the food was really, really bad. While the breakfast was still average, the dinner was quite poor. We gave it a second chance, but even without expecting much we were again disappointed. It was by far the worst we had on the island. There are a lot of great restaurants nearby, so you can go there. But it's sad you can't even have a nice lunch, because the location and setting is amazing! Also the drinks were quite bad. Worst cocktails we had during our 2 week stay on Aruba and Curaçao. Every beach bar offers better. The wine was ok, but only average as well. If they change that, it could easily be a 9, maybe even a 10. But not like this.
