Okay, so it was an Ibis Budget. Nothing to write home about, but I expected this when I made the booking. Overall the hotel was fine. The room was fairly comfortable and clean, the location was adequate for what I needed, and only a 10 minute drive into the centre.

I am not a smoker. So when you smell the stench of smoke wafting through the corridors and rooms it doesn’t come across well. I mean signs clearly stated €50 fines for those caught smoking, but judging from the smell of smoke I would say this has never been enforced. Appreciate people like to smoke on the continent, however the hotel really need to stamp this out.

The late check-in was practical and easy, even when arriving at a late time.

I had asked for a cot to be placed in the room I was staying in and was told there was no problem. Luckily I had taken my own as there was none when we arrived. The room was very small so we had to squeeze in, I was desappointed to have been told we could come with a baby, yet there clearly wasn't the space. The staff was distant and unwelcoming. I came down for breakfast was completely ignored until I told them my room number, then I caught what could have looked like some sort of smile ? When leaving, both of the ladies at reception where talking agmonst themselves and on their phones. The breakfast was good, but letting us know from what time it is until what time it ends would have been helpful. All in all, disappointed. Will not be back.

we didn’t get a wink of sleep with what appeared to be a party in the hotel above and around us. Our rooms were shaking with the constant banging of doors, jumping up and down on the floor above us just so much unbearable noise. Nothing was done about this and it went on all night until 4-5am. So disappointing after we had just endured a 9 hour drive and wanted a good nights rest.

We wanted a low cost room as we were using Caen ax a overnight stop off we meet what we were going to get for an ibis hotel at this price. It did gj’s job- although roon had a bad odour in it and thx minty air freshener they use didn’t improve it.

The fact that there wasn't a lift/elevator to get my wheelchair bound wife to her second floor room! Unfortunately she found the whole experience humiliating, hugely embarrassing and upsetting when exhausted after an eight hour car journey.

no air conditioning in rooms. it was 35 degrees, no water provided. small machine in entrance selling water but no change available. the rooms were too hot to sleep in. the building was covered in scaffolding and after leaving the window open at night so we could breath, we were greeted by a scaffolder at the window just before 8am!!! all fire doors were opened and left wedged open to allow some air in all night, not secure

The staff were lovely and friendly. Private car park for motorcycles and the shower was amazing

Great value for money!! The hotel is close to the Caen Memorial, an excellent museum. However, it is far from the train station and the city center. The taxi cost for these trips was very high, around 20 to 30 euros.

Nothing, the mistake in choosing the hotel was only mine, I didn't pay attention to the distance to the city center.
