Kind and helpful stuff, cleanless, excellant food, location

The staff was exceptionally helpful, friendly and professional. They were very busy because of a wake and a wedding party were taking place at the same time, but the staff stayed calm and no request was too much for them. The room was very(!) clean, bright and big enough for 2 adults and a large dog. The breakfast was very fresh and varied and the buffet was kept filled up till the end of the breakfast time. lunch and dinner were great. Interesting menu that was a great mix of local, traditional and modern food ideas. Try the Strawberry-Schilcher-Spritzer (only if you are not driving). It leaves you wanting more. But be aware: it is a little bit naughty (you can sleep very well after having one or two or more). Very nice beers and wines on offer. I got addicted to the sweets. The location is great as a base for a lot of visits to the surrounding area with its many attractions. We are looking forward to another visit later in the year, when the heat has quietened down.

It's is nobodies fault that the day and night we've stayed there were particularly hot ones. Maybe dark curtains would keep the room cooler. An aircon would be tops, but I know and understand that this is not usually on offer in hotels or B&Bs like this one. If it was a 5 Star hotel in a city centre I would be disappointed if there was no aircon. But as this is a lovely family owned small place in the middle of the beautiful Styrian countryside, that has not yet adapted to hot summers. It just very difficult if you can't open the balcony door, because of the traffic noise. Saying this, as soon as we've asked for a fan, the young staff was starting their search for one and we were happy to have it in our room just a little later.
