This was the best place I have stayed in yet! The views, the staff everything was perfect.

The view of the hostel is superb, we could see Pico right there and it's the first thing we saw every morning. Our room was in the back which had no direct view but we just had to walk a bit on our private door. The facility was very clean, and the kitchen was amazingly useful and well equipped. They even supply coffee or tea. There are two big fridges that we stored some food and water. A big plus, they sent us a map of the island with places to visit, through whatsapp, which was very helpful and we love the recommendation.

Beware that there isn't a breakfast place nearby, we had to go all the way to Velas on the first day and that didn't go well. The best is to buy stuff for breakfast and make it yourself at the hostel. You can sit outside and enjoy the view with it too.

We basically loved everything, it was the perfect hostel. Everything was clean the kitchen had modern equipment and everywhere was air condition. Also the manger, Tatjana, was really kind- you really got the feeling that she cared and that she wanted to get you the best holidays. Would love to come back one day!

We stayed at a private room. Confortable room/place, very clean, good location, good facilities, great kitchen, nice staff. We would stay there again and absolutly recommend it!

very well presented modern guest house, with terraces and private entrances, helpful host, very high spec with excellent facilities, there is an open plan lounge and kitchen diner which includes the host office area. I didn’t meet any solo travellers here and it did seem that there were few of them here on Sao Jorge. It is on the main road and you really need a car to stay here. It was a 30 min walk up from the sea front bars. The (mini) bus runs twice a day and they drove past me without stopping as I sheltered from the pouring rain. 24 hr car hire is 80-100 Euros with insurance so try and share!

I enjoy the private terrace for each shared room. Every room is cleaned every day. Room and beds comfortable. Urzelina nice and cool city !

Marficas hostel offers you more hotel standards (services and facilities) rather than what you usually expect from hostels. When the price is super reasonable. So it's an amazing place where to stay! It also offers a great view of Pico during the day and a beautiful sky full of stars at night. The owners are super nice, kind and always looking to help you. Located in the middle on the south coast makes it easy for you travel around. I recommand it and I would definitely come back here !

It is one of the best hostel where I was, it is rally nice and clear, for whole island is required car and this city is in the middle of Sao Jorge so you can easly move with same time to both sides

The staff are super nice and attentive. Kitchen is well equiped. They offer good laundry service aswell. Everything was super clean.

I travel non-stop, and this is possibly the best hostel I've been to in Europe. The infrastructure is amazing and very new and well maintained, with a huge, well-equipped kitchen, great hot shower, nice common spaces and comfy rooms with plenty of sunlight - with balconies overlooking the ocean and Pico mountain on the opposite island! :D You can reach the hostel by bus, it's about a 15 to 20-minute walk to the coast, and there's a few shops and restaurants within that distance. Cleanliness and covid prevention were impeccable. Hospitality was the best part. This is a family-owned and run business, and they care for every detail to make you feel at home. I'd come back in a heartbeat. Muito obrigada!

This place should be at least 3* Hotel. Very clean and spacious, we had room with big balcony and private entrance. The place is just in perfect location, highly recommended!
