Our family of 12 truly enjoyed our stay at the Waltz River Home. It was an absolutely beautiful& cozy setting by the Susquehanna River. They provided fishing poles, kayaks, and we built a fire and made smores provided by the hosts. Definitely would highly recommend a stay at tbis property.

My friends and I stayed here with our family for Memorial Day weekend. We can’t say enough good things about this property. The house was beautifully maintained and very comfortable. The pictures don’t do the location justice. We were right on the river and our children enjoyed fishing and running around in the yard. David and Janice were wonderful. David gave us a great tour and explained all the features of the property. It was also very convenient to Hershey Park.

Very charming place in a beautiful location

I chose to stay here for a conference in Hershey and turn it into a little weekend getaway with friends for my husband and kids. We loved the quiet location and the amazing view of the River. Janice and Dave were extremely helpful and available if we had any questions. They bought a new fire pit since the fire pit by the water was wet, provided fishing rods for our daughter and worms to go fishing at the nearby trout hatchery, offered a bike to my daughter and a book for bedtime. The little thoughtful touches and gestures throughout were very nice. The house was very spacious, clean, and cozy. Overall we had a wonderful stay at the River house and we hope to come back someday!

This was our third Christmas in a row spent as a family here. Great location. Very quiet. Wonderful views. The owner decorates for Christmas, making the home even more welcoming for the holidays. They are also very welcoming and helpful. Highly recommend this home.

Thanksgiving dinner for 13 family members (age range 5 - 70). This rental is perfect!! Turkey/ham dinner with all the sides was cooked in the kitchen and not one thing was needed … this kitchen has everything!!! We forgot to bring our electric knife… no worries Janice told us where to find one in the kitchen!! Sleeping arrangements are great for this size group, bathrooms are easily accessible, plenty of small group sitting areas! Janice and David are the kindest host and very informative! They are next door in the cottage but you would never know they are there!!! A great pet friendly rental…. Highly recommended and we will surely be back!!!

This our 2nd year staying in this lovely home. Accommodates all of our needs inside and outside. The views of the Susquehanna River are spectacular. Dave and Janice always make us feel so welcomed. Our stay was delightful. We were having a guys weekend, and were looking for a place to stay while we attended some local activities, but this place was much more. We enjoyed the fire pit, kayaks, and just being by the river. The view was amazing. The house was clean and quite spacious for 11 guys. We were all comfortable. I certainly plan on coming back for more of the hiking, and river fun.

Beautiful place on the river. Close to excursions. Plenty of beds. Attic steps a little steep and narrow, but no one seemed to mind. Owners were on top of any issues we had. We would go back there again

The hostess was very friendly and responsive. There were lots of lovely seating areas, many extras (such as kayaks and fishing eqt), dock and river access, and a charming waterfall. We had a great time!

This property was beautiful, the view is unbeatable and the house was very comfortable. We had 8 people and 2 dogs and were all nicely situated. Kayaks and tubes were so much fun, and Janice and Dave were terrific hosts. The information they provided and recommendations regarding the river floating and kayaking were key to a thoroughly wonderful weekend.

This property by far was the cleanest & well maintained that we ever stayed in. Janice was a wonderful host who thought about everything for her guests … including s’mores! Unfortunately we were unable to kayak or float on the river but it sure was pretty to look at House comfortably fit our family of 6 adults, 5 children (under 11) and our 2 dogs. Kitchen was well stocked and it was great to be able to sit down together at one table for a meal. We will definitely look to return to this property. My husband, two adult children and their spouses, along with our two grandchildren, ages 5 and 7, and two chihuahuas…all gathered for a week of family togetherness in this lovely home on the bank of the Susquehanna River. Highlights were the graciousness of the home’s interior, the view from the sunporch and deck, the landscaped property including waterfalls and graceful perennials, the outdoor equipment of fishing poles, kayaks, lawn games, the chair swings dotting the sprawling lawn. The house came fully equipped. No need to bring anything but food. The owners are an active presence living next door, available for any questions/concerns. The family enjoyed a day at nearby Hershey Park, fishing for youngsters at Clark Creek, and tours of local caves. We found a wonderful restaurant in Harrisburg to celebrate our daughter in law’s fortieth birthday. This part of the river is very quiet and peaceful, and offers excellent tubing and kayaking possibilities. Our son found a local gym for his morning workouts. We were very satisfied with this setting and all it had to offer.

We have been renting vacation homes for over 30 years, this was the best place bar none!! The house was spotless. The owners are so kind and considerate .We did not want for anything, The views are spectacular. The gardens are gorgeous and there are a few outdoor seating areas .the whole house gives off a very mellow vibe. Kayaking was fun especially with the grandkids. Paddling around the small islands was such an adventure,seeing Bald eagles fly so close was definitely a thrill. Will definitely come back. Highly recommend!!

We had a wonderful time visiting family and friends with a dramatic, scenic backdrop of mountains, the Susquehanna River and a beekeeper's garden. A peaceful setting, yet close to Harrisburg and even a trip to Baltimore.

We had a wonderful time staying at the Riverfront home. As a family of 8 adults ranging from 24-55 years of age, we were able to pleasantly occupy our time every day. Everyone found something to do from river rafting, kayaking, fishing, hammock naps, and lots of serene views for reading and family conversations on the patio. Off site gave us plenty of things to do as well. The highlights for our family were Hershey Park, Gettysburg National Park, Cassel Winery, Amish experiences in Lancaster, Lake Tobias Wildlife Park and Turkey Hill Experience. Dave and Janice were very gracious hosts who are very knowledgable and offer plenty of options to get the most out of your time spent on the Susquehanna River. Overall it was a great vacation at a place that fit us all. The one small downfall was the highway was close by. It could not be seen but it could be heard. Thanks Dave and Janice it was a great experience.

This was a perfect home. We blended some days at Hershey and the rest with nature. A perfect time with 3 young grandchildren. The house is just beautiful, the yard is stunning. The hosts were wonderful, so helpful. I loved every minute of it!

This was an amazing vacation home! We have used many VRBO homes over the years and my kids said this one felt the most like home. The owners are quite possibly the nicest couple on the planet. It was comfortable and clean. The river was beautiful! We will definitely add this place to our "will return" list.

Beautiful home on the river. Exactly as described on the VBRO website. An incredibly comfortable, peaceful, and beautiful place that met all our needs. While we loved the house it was the hosts that made us smile. Incredibly responsive, informative, helpful, and nice couple. The smile on their faces just made some wonderful days even that much better. We loved it and hope to come back soon.

There is no possibility we could award anything but 5 stars to this outstanding vacation home! Our family had a fantastic week in early June. This home was really a home. It didn’t feel like a rental property. That’s thanks to Janice and Dave, the best VRBO hosts we’ve ever had the pleasure to meet! We were so comfortable and relaxed all week. The kids loved The Hangout, the private attic space. My teenager hooked up his Nintendo Switch and was totally at home. The kitchen had all we needed and we had our groceries delivered with no issues. We cooked all our breakfasts and some lunches/dinners. We had our coffee in the sunroom, on the deck, and on the patio. It’s a million dollar view and pictures do not do it justice! We enjoyed kayaking, fishing, and catching critters in the river. It was the perfect depth for scooping up all sorts of little creatures with the net. We took morning walks down River Road and saw many interesting gardens, some with beehives. We saw bunnies, deer, a raccoon, all sorts of birds, an otter, and Lady Liberty down the river! The house was spotless. The garden was beautiful. We made some great memories visiting family, Hershey Park, Gettysburg, and Sight & Sound Theatre in Lancaster. We ended our week with a delicious meal at The Glass Lounge. Book with confidence because this is your home base for the best family vacation ever!

My family and I stayed at this location for Memorial Weekend. We wanted time to relax and enjoy the outdoors. From the hammock, to kayaking, to sitting in the sunroom with a good book, there was something for everyone to do. I was also able to bring my Great Dane who enjoyed every last minute of being outside. The cleanliness of the home was exceptional and the kitchen was stocked with every essential gadget you needed. I highly recommend this location if you’re looking for a small carefree family vacation. The hosts were extremely accommodating and even offered us a boat ride on the river. Truly, a vacation to remember!

David & Janice were a wonderfully sweet couple who invited us with warmth & kindness. We were thrilled with the house! It exceeded our expectations. The pictures look great, but it was so much better in person!! We had a group of 10 & never felt uncomfortable. The girls ( ages 14 & 10) loved the dock & the spent a great deal of time enjoying the outdoors. They did NOT want to leave!! :) Janice & Dave have done a great job of outfitting this house. I brought many items to cater a small luncheon (25 people) to celebrate our daughters graduation from Dickinson College. I could have pretty much done it with their supplied kitchen!! The one small issue we had was the brightness in the rooms; we were awake a little earlier than we would have liked, though I imagine they do not wish to block the beautiful views of the river. Overall, everyone had a marvelous time & we would highly recommend this vacation home!! Thank you, David & Janice

The setting was wonderful, house was comfortable, local recreational options plentiful and owners very attentive.

We stayed here over Christmas for the second year in a row and had another wonderful experience gathered as a family. The owners decorate the house for the holiday, which makes it extra special. The kitchen is well stocked and we were once again able to prepare a full Christmas dinner without any issues. The owners are also very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The property description is clear and accurate regarding the house. Highly recommend.

Absolutely beautiful place. Large dining room and common areas were a good fit for our group. Yard and river provided fun recreation. Hosts were friendly and available for questions. The upstairs is a charming area. Good for older kids. Not suitable for little ones because the staircase is steep and can’t be blocked off. Overall a wonderful place. We had a great time together with family.

The property is well maintained and the location is amazing. With a clear view of the Susquehanna river and mountains in the background, it makes for amazing scenery. The house is old but maintained and somewhat modernized. There was plenty of room for our party of 7.

This was the perfect home for our family vacation on the Susquehanna River. Owners had everything possible that we might need. Kitchen stocked perfectly to meet our cooking needs. Just a beautiful and relaxing home. The views from the inside to the river were amazing. Swings for the kids and toys. Kayaking for the adults. Bottom line we rate this home a 10 plus. You don’t want to bypass this vacation home. My sons and wives and grandkids want to go back again! A big thank you to the owners for making our vacation memorable!!
