The welcome we had at Chalet Saudade was just superb, lovely reception staff and really made us feel at home and gave us so much information and recommendations for our Sintra visit. They were super happy of our visit and it showed, which really added to our experience. (Thank you for making our trip a memorable one!) The interior was something special and unique, which is why I booked and it didn't disappoint. The facilities are straight forward and easy; you have everything you need, and the location was fantastic and close to everything. They also have their own cafe one street away. We didn't book breakfast but we went twice and both experiences were excellent; delicious pastries, and again, the staff were fabulous. Clearly a popular place, and for good reason! Have definitely recommended this stay to a number of friends already, a must if you're staying the night or two in Sintra!

Although zero fault of the guest house (and we were able to drop off bags first outside), as Sintra is small and busy, it can be difficult to park if you're visiting by car. Though it was quite easy for us (we managed to find the last spot in a car park a street up) I'm not sure others may be so lucky, so get there early and/or be prepared to wait. Overnight parking however, was cheap (compared to London!); around £8. It would be an excellent facility if there were a couple of spots where guests could park outside the guesthouse. People with limited mobility might find visiting here tricky. As well as the parking, there is also no lift which could be an issue. (Throughout a lot of Portugal tbf) Also bear this in mind to pack light or pull out a smaller case/ overnight bag if you don't want to haul a giant case up and down the stairs. We didn't think of this and though it was no problem for us.... in hindsight.

Emplacement idéal, à deux pas de la gare ferroviaire et du point de départ des bus 434 et 435 pour visiter les différents palais. Chambre calme dans une villa ancienne à la décoration Art Nouveau. Les lits sont confortable et les chambres spacieuses. La chambre était équipée d'un coin cuisine / salon donnant sur le jardin avec tous le nécessaire pour éventuellement se faire un diner sur place. Les petits-déjeuners servis au Café Saudade non loin du Chalet Saudade sont copieux, bon et qualitatif. Le cadre du café est également agréable avec son décor ancien. Le personnel de l'hôtel a su nous apporter toutes les informations nécessaires pour le bon déroulement de notre séjour.

Un bémol : la salle de bain est un peu exigüe. La cabine de douche est un peu petite et les toilettes coincés entre le mur et la douche....ancienne maison oblige...La douche fuyait un peu. Rien de grave!

A estadia foi uma oferta de passeio para os meus Pais, que há muito não viajavam. Desde o primeiro momento, o Chalet Saudade - na pessoa de todos os seus funcionários - demonstrou um cuidado e empatia que tornaram a estadia demasiado curta para o extraordinária que foi.

Helt igennem fantastisk hotel. Det er en historisk og charmerende bygning og den medfølgende morgenmad var på en charmerende cafe lige ved siden af som også var populær med andre der besøgte byen. Personalet var de sødeste mennesker man kan forestille sig og de gav os en følelse af at være en rigtig gæst. De gav os gode råd til byen og hjalp os med at bestille uber flere gange fordi det var billigere igennem deres app. De gjorde oplevelsen helt unik og uforglemmelig.

Hotellet har nogle lokale restauranter de anbefaler. Vi prøvede to, og den første var en rigtig god oplevelse, men på anden dagen prøvede vi den de anbefalede som deres romantiske middag, hvilket var en restaurant hvor vi blev skyndt så hurtigt igennem at vi ikke var færdig med forretten før hovedretten stod foran os. Vi var der samlet 48 minutter. Restauranten havde generelt gode reviews så vi bebrejder ikke hotellet for anbefalingen.

The cafe’s breakfast was exquisite. The staff was quite accommodating since we arrived early. Oh… and the private garden entrance and stone walls of the room were dreamlike!!

Everything was excellent.
