On arrival I was greeted very politely and efficiently by welcoming staff. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that because a more superior room was available that I had been upgraded at no additional cost. The accommodation included a kitchenette /dining room with hob, microwave, mini oven, crockery and cutlery for two people and cooking utensils, pans and tea towel as well as a dining table with two chairs and an additional padded chair which was comfortable for reading. This led to a well fitted bathroom with spacious shower and plenty of towels, soap and shampoo, and toilet paper. There was a very spacious cupboard next to the bathroom with drawers, a security safe which I was shown how to use, hanging rails and hangers. The bedroom was airy with high ceiling, a large TV on the wall, a kingsize double bed with good quality bedding, two bedside tables and a cupboard under the TV. This led out via large sliding glass doors onto a small private patio with a table and two chairs and a hanging stand for towels all looking out directly on the well tended grass and grounds and swimming pool. There are two pools - one small children's pool and a larger pool each of which had beautifully clean water not overly chlorinated. The schedule for breakfast was ideal and the buffet style laid out immaculately by very attentive smartly dressed staff. The timing between the end of breakfast and the schedule for cleaning staff had been well thought through making for a very relaxing routine. The cleaning staff were superb too making polite efforts to clean around me on days I chose to stay in my room and providing fresh towels and linen as often as needed. I was also supplied a pool towel from reception. I borrowed one of the bikes which was fine along the sea front promenade between La Serena and Coquimbo and beyond. I did report a minor problem with the gears and that the chains could probably do with lubrication and I felt this feedback was appreciated.

It would have been a nice extra to have a small bottle of washing up liquid and a dish washing sponge in the kitchen on arrival just to get things going in the kitchen.
