the host tried very hard when we left, by gifting a bottle of wine and cooking us some eggs. the beds were comfortable.

it looks nothing like the advertised pictures. we had traveled by ferry and car, on thug for nearly 24hrs. We contacted the host at 5:50pm to let him know we would be arriving at 8:45. We waited in the dark for nearly 40 minutes for our host to unlock the building . we were finally shown our dusty rooms at 10pm, on new years evening. We went to bed hungry as it was too late to find any food nearby. The host did give us a glass of wine at 11:30 though, which we did not drink as we had not eaten since breakfast and the children cried themselves to sleep. we had initially booked the family suite onlooking.com but when we got to the hotel we were give two separate rooms and had to split the family. We had chosen this overly priced hotel purely to have the suite to bath after such a long journeying were given two separate rooms with only showers. we could have spent half the money for a 5 star stay at any number of other places. we had an awful night here. the animals were accessed by trapping through ankle deep horse manure, and gazing at them from a distance.

it is a beautiful Chateau with lovely wooden panelling and high ceilings.

the facilities are very lacking and everything is badly constructed and laid out. we did not even have a working shower. there is no where to sit other than the dining room or bedroom. we were kept awake all night by barking dogs.

The member of staff was very nice and friendly

I booked a suite as i was travelling with a friend and needed two beds. This was not a suite. It was a reasonable size double room with an extra single bed right by the door and a table and chair squashed in front of the fire place .

Beautiful setting, relaxing pool and curious animals for company.

Tricky to find, but that was half the reason to stay there.

The light in our bathroom near the sinks came on automatically, not always needed. More importantly and surprisingly - the bathroom with toilet had no curtains or shutters, so its use felt uncomfortable. This room was on the first floor and there is a settlement just next to the mansion. There is no communal area, or kettle or fridge or hairdryer. The hotel is too expensive to be without these facilities. Breakfast is OK-ish for three nights, but I would not have liked 2 weeks on this.

Good breakfast. Individual requests were met. Impressive bulding. Very kind owner (with good wine in his dining room... :-)). Attractive for kids (animals, pool, ...) Located near Nantes with a wide range of opportunies in acceptable distance (culture in Nantes, beach in La Baule etc.)

extremely charming place with an incredible host :)

The chateau is absolutely beautiful and we were made feel at home right away with a lovely welcome from the owners and the two gorgeous dogs. The grounds are so well kept and it was wonderful to have access to the pool (which we often had to ourselves!). There is a greenway which passes just behind the grounds, which is great for walking/running/cycling and lots of space and some tables on the grounds for having a picnic. All in all, it was a fantastic experience, which I would thoroughly recommend.

Great building, the pool is ok. Over all it could be amazing but let down in some major ways! Very over priced for what it is! Its selling based on the appearance of the house. My baby girl loved the horses.

THERE IS A DOG SEGREGATED FROM THE HOUSE IN AWFUL CONDITION KEPT BEHIND A FENCE OUTSIDE.(in the photos) ITS NOT BEEN BRUSHED OR CARED FOR, ITS APPALLING OF THE HOTEL AND SHOCKING THAT BOOKING.COM STILL ADVERTISES THEM. IN GENERAL ALL THE DOGS ARE NOT WELL KEPT OR MANAGED AND CALLING THEM OUTDOOR DOGS IS AN EXCUSE FOR POOR OWNERSHIP AND PET RESPONSIBILITY. We had to call the hotel to check in as there was staff around, everything last looked and even after driving around all the buildings still no way of checking in. There was never any staff around to ask for assistance only at breakfast briefly. The pastries at breakfast are not fresh but defrosted and over cooked by the staff. The house dogs are annoying particularly if you have your own dog. They constantly bark through the day and night to the point they continually woke our sleeping baby as it was so hot we needed the windows open. They did move our room but never called the dogs off during the day. We were told the dogs would be put in but this never happened. When we left the dogs peed on our luggage when packed the car, we were told to put our bags in the car straight away by the hotel staff and no apology at all. Difficult with a baby, a dog, luggage and buggy etc.

We stayed for a week and had a great time . The chateau looks amazing , everything was cleaned to a high standard and the swimming pool and area was great. Its a B&B and we had continental breakfast most days and the staff we're extremely friendly and helpful. The kids loved the animals too, wallabies , horses and Llamas are all in the grounds. It's also in a great location for visiting Nantes and the other smaller towns in the the vicinity for dinner etc. We had a great break.

We ordered a bigger breakfast to also invite our friends from the area and it was just amazing. The team prepared a beautiful breakfast for us in a separate room and went above and beyond to make us happy. Thank you so much again for your great efforts!

The weather... :P Unfortunately, it was raining when we were there so we could not make use of the pool, or seeing the animals around, hopefully next time!
