Staff were good especially the girls who served a very good breakfast

My room was quite big for a single traveller and it was spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfortable and I was able to get a good night's sleep. Especially nice was the quantity of coffee, teabags, milk etc. provided; this was far more than I have ever previously come across. Breakfast was ample and nicely cooked and the staff were superb.

There was nothing to dislike, except perhaps to say that although the hotel's location suited my purpose, please note that it is some distance from the beach and other major attractions.

Checked in after I was let down at the inglethorpe Hotel. I wish I had booked this. The facilities are spot on. I've even booked for the coming monday

The only fault was the shower didn't particularly give hot water. I still can't complain see you Monday

The hotel was excellent value for money. It was a bit dated but clean and comfortable and my room with en suite exceeded my expectations - very clean, the bed very comfortable and it was nicely warm. The staff were very friendly as were the other guests. The location was out of the way and nicely quiet but just a ten minute walk to the centre of town which, for me, was ideal. I'm back in Torquay next year and may well book the Ashley Court again. Definitely recommended.

Dirty, run down, noisy. Breakfast appalling. Hygiene non exsistant.

The waiting staff for breakfast were friendly and keen to help.

We arrived to be "greeted" by an unbelievably rude member of staff whom we had to ask over 4 times to stop raising her voice and talking to us the way she was. We had believed we had already paid an un refundable cost of the accommodation via booking.com however the "lady" just kept shouting that booking.com never takes payments and we must have ever used them before if we didn't understand this and we needed to pay her NOW. While we were trying to check our booking she continued to raise her voice at us also bringing people in from the bar to back her up. These people seemed embarrassed with what she was doing and were not backing her up as she had hoped. The staff member just kept shouting check ur bank account, which i kept explaining i couldn't on my phone, which she wasn't understanding. We worked out, we still need to pay the balance which we did. However, the whole experience was nothing we had ever seen before the lady was so rude to us, and also bad mouthing other staff blaming them for the mix up. She also said they kept getting people come in who thought they had paid on booking.com but hadn't, so it sounded like it is a known issue at the hotel. We complained to another member of staff in the morning who apologised that we had this experience she was lovely and polite such polar opposite of our experience the night before.

I don’t like complaining and feel bad for doing this…..but the hotel is old and needs a clean up. It smelt musty throughout, our room was filthy hair and dirt on floor in bathroom. Dust and dirt on pipes and fixtures. Broken bedroom furniture which seriously need updating. Dust on the head board. Rubbish on the floor hidden behind dressing table. Mattress was a flat as pancake with springs sticking in your back,Bath moved from the wall when stood taking a shower. Shower head was filthy. Toilet roll in toilet brush. The extractor fan full of dust.Breakfast extremely rushed staff shouting was shoved in a corner cutlery and cups dirty, breakfast was under cooked the jugs the milk kept it were filthy with dried milk. With the added extra of a ant bait house sat on the floor next to our table,I really don’t like to give bad reviews but I was actually annoyed as it wasn’t value for money.
