Absolutely love the location such an amazing view of the mountains and river. You will pull up and exhale, your shoulders will drop and blood pressure will go down. Definitely an ahh moment. A quick walk across the road for a meal or browse the local gallery who's artists would rival anywhere. The potential for peace and tranquillity. Many activities to choose from. Large pool. Beautiful drives either side of the township following the river. We were lucky and spotted an echidna such a little cutie. You will love it!

Very disappointed with the room compared to the room booked and the lack of facilities in the property. We had very little communication with any staff and restaurant was closed and golf course not available.

Unfortunately some of the electrics in the room had failed (PowerPoints), everything else worked perfectly, however to avoid any inconvenience we were immediately issued another room - all occurring after office hours - service was brilliant and nothing was too much trouble.

Love the position of The Retreat. Overlooking the river, lovely green lawns, right in the town and close to amenities. parking was easy and some rooms had lawn areas with table and chairs which was great. The room we stayed in was clean, had bathroom toiletries provided and the having the balcony was nice. The room was ok alittle tired some updating might assist with this. We booked thru Booking.com and got a best price for booking early but we felt the price was alittle high, restaurant is not open so breakfast was across the road.

If you are having tourist coaches arriving late at night or very early in the morning, in our case it was 3am. You need to advise when booking is made or before arrival date so a discussion can be had about potential impact of such a scenario. It would have been sensible to discuss it before those who have booked arrive so they can have a choice to select a room away from the tourist bus arriving and dropping off their very noisy and tired customers. Also advising the tourist line that they will need to advise their passengers to be be aware that noise travels at night, when going to their rooms to be reminded to be VERY quiet, DONT slam doors and be courteous. The Retreat has a responsibility to their paying customers and those considering to make a booking to advise of any possible interruption that may impact on those staying there at the time of their booking if they know or to contact those who are booked when it is known by the accommodation provider. Smarter and courteous before the situation can occur. It could have been avoided with some thought and the review would have been higher.

Great big comfy bed! Nice quiet location, beautiful gardens and pool.

Staff unavailable when trying to check out, missing a chair on the balcony that all other rooms had. Would have been nice to be able to use bbq facilities but it was obvious that they weren't in use - not sure why.
